We had the best time with Chef Ugo! He is very passionate about his craft and explained everything very well. It was just the 2 of us and it truly is in his garage/lab as he calls it! We made 2 different pastas and tiramisu. All were very delicious and I would highly recommend this if you want a cooking class in Palermo!
I recommend this pasta and tiramisú class to everyone who visits Palermo. The chef was very welcoming and the kitchen was incredible. The wine was excellent and I would do it again!
Chef was incredible!! We mulled over many options, when booking our Palermo cooking class. Neither one of us know how to make pasta, or cook very much at all, so we were leaning towards a more generic class in a restaurant. We ended up deciding on this one (very last minute, mind you) based on the Chef’s excellent reviews. He did NOT disappoint! Not only was the instruction thorough and thoughtful; he entertained us throughout the way, with music and story telling that caused for great self reflection and laughter. Best cooking class we’ve ever had- we will be back, in the event that another Palermo trip is in our future. Thanks again, Chef!
This was one of our favorite experiences during our trip. My husband and I were on a Mediterranean Cruise, and we did not book an excursion through the cruise line on the day our ship was docked in Palermo. I was debating on booking a food tour to do in the city, but I am so thankful I came across this cooking class! For starters, it was about 95 degrees in Palermo the day we were there, so we are thankful Ugochef had great AC! We also had no issues getting to the cooking class from the main cruise port-it was only about a 25-30 minute walk. The cooking class itself was fantastic. Ugochef was so knowledgable and personable, and we learned so much! The food we cooked was fantastic, and we left so full! Highly recommend to anyone who is visiting Palermo.
A little hard to find the location but we had a great time cooking and talking with chef Ugo. Lots of personal attention. Can’t wait to try the recipes at home. 🍝
A wonderful experience! We learned great techniques for delicious recipes! Ugo Chef is an amazing chef, very funny, and entertaining! We loved it!!
We loved this class. Ugochef was a wonderful teacher and made the learning so much fun. The food we made was delicious! We highly recommend this experience.
Don’t think about it, just book it. This experience was the favorite part of our trip across Sicily. You learn so much from Cheg Ugo and have so much fun in his kitchen. He knows how to pick a good playlist too! And the best part, the food was amazing. Best meal we ate in Palermo and we made it ourselves. Highly recommend!
We loved every minute - from the warm welcome to the very end. This was my first cooking class ever and it was so special. Informative , simple , and the best pasta dish we had in Sicily - made with love and fun. Was one of our top experiences and it’s a must while in Palermo. Thank you UgoChef ❤️⭐️
The cooking class was enjoyable, interesting, and resulted in delicious food. Our friendly and knowledgeable chef provided not only the cooking instructions, but many insights into Italian culture.
UgoChef made this experience so enjoyable. He welcomed us into his home and made us feel like friends. The recipes were easy to make and follow. Also, the appetizers he served were delicious! We would highly recommend anyone looking for a good, informative and tasty pasta/dessert class to look no further and book with UgoChef. 🥰
Learning to make pasta and tiramisu with UgoChef was the highlight of our 3 week trip to Sicily. We cooked in Nona's kitchen with an engaging and talented chef who made us feel so competent that we are sure to try the recipes at home. Everything - the spinach and ricotta raviolis, the fettuccini with sun dried tomato pesto, and the layered tiramisu with lady fingers lightly soaked in run and coffee turned out perfectly. We savored a delicious dinner with added appetizers and wine while UgoChef told us about his grandmother and his cooking experiences. It was a memorable evening. We give the experience 10+ and highly recommend it if you like to cook and and eat Sicilian food.
Chef Ugo was delightful! He was very knowledgeable, a good teacher, hospitable, and shared pictures of our time there via WhatsApp, as well as recipes.
We had a wonderful time cooking with Ugochef (John Pierre). He truly has a love for cooking and sharing his knowledge with others.
Such a fun experience! Our chef was so informative and his passion for sharing authentic recipes and family stories was Italian perfection! The perfect activity for our time in Palermo!
Chef made this class fun, informative and easy! Food was amazing!! Small group size was appreciated!
Such a fun experience with some of the best pasta and tiramisu we’ve ever had. 10/10 recommend. The class was taught in a fun, easy to follow way. We’re so excited to take our pasta making skills home with us!
Ugochef was a great host and chef! Perfect ravioli and linguine, and the sauces were delicious. Easy conversation, nice music, a wonderful afternoon!
We have just returned from what amounted to a private cooking class with UgoChef. We made fettuccine with sundried tomato pesto, spinach and ricotta ravioli and tiramisu and we learned so much! This was one of our favorite meals in Sicily. We picked his brain for advice about everything from homemade pizza to wine, why recipes may fail at home, learned about what the typical Sicilian eats (not pasta every meal) and shared travel stories. Our three hours went by in a blink and we were sad to leave. I would recommend this in a red hot second.
Jon Pierro was awesome! He was patient and fun—one of our favorite things we’ve eaten in Italy! So yummy
Giani was incredible! The best meal we had in Palermo by far! We had so much fun and it was an amazing experience . Giani was very funny, knowledgeable, and took pride in his cooking and it showed. This cooking class is a must if visiting Palermo!
Amazing chef!! An amazing experience being brought into a private setting and learning how to make great pasta and tiramisu. Highly recommended.
Gianpiero was very hospitable and passionate. His knowledge of pasta making and Italian culture was incredible. If you are ever in Palermo and want an authentic experience that goes far beyond a tourist activity, this class is an absolute must! An experience that you will always remember
This experience was on the top of our favorite activities we did in our 2 weeks in Italy. It's rare for our entire family to agree and enjoy the same activity. We prepared 2 types of pasta along with some tiramisu. Gianpiero shared his culinary knowledge along with stories of his family history while showing us how to make his recipes. We had a very enjoyable time drinking wine, cooking, and sharing stories. We weren't rushed through the evening and got to enjoy the fruits of our labor after. Thanks again Gianpiero for a great evening!
Great experience, lots of good food with great conversation. Authentic Sicilian chef with great insights about pasta and the life in Palermo. Make sure to get there hungry!
We had a fantastic time cooking with Gianpiero!! It was just my husband and I which was actually awesome, we chatted a lot with Gianpiero and got to know him more than if there were six of us. We learned how to make pasta and tiramisu from scratch, and after three weeks in Italy we can say with confidence it was the best pasta and tiramisu we had!! He also has fantastic sparkling wine and white wine. He also offered us his own caffe which in his words “the best in the world”! We agree!! It was the perfect experience to finish our honeymoon in Italy. Grazie mille!
We had a truly unforgettable experience with Gianpiero (Ugochef). He made as feel at home from the beginning, explaining the recipes patiently, answering all sorts of questions and he made the class really hands-on. My dietary restriction (vegetarian) was taken into consideration when choosing the two pasta dishes and the outcome was amazing! We had the best tiramisu in our lives. (No, this is not an exaggeration!) We loved the whole experience and absolutely recommend this cooking class to everyone who wants to enjoy a fun, relaxed evening combined with great food and the best local host in town. 12/10🤩
What a great time cooking with Ugo. Such a wonderful person, patient and cheerful. Would absolutely book this again!
Gianpiero (Ugochef) was delightful and thorough! From the meal plan to the sequence of creation, he was well-prepared to provide a great experience. We enjoyed the stories of Palermo cooking traditions, the wonder of the process and the joy of the food! Thanks for sharing the insights and creating a wonderful memory.
We had the best time! Ugo was so friendly, kind and welcoming. The pasta and tiramisu was super tasty. I recommend this class to everyone !!
Where do I begin? The whole experience was fantastic! When we first arrived, we were greeted by Ugo, who was very kind and welcoming. He then taught us how to make a beautiful fettuccine, ravioli and tiramisu. He gave us a nice bottle of wine to enjoy as we ate. Overall it was an amazing experience and anyone who is looking for a cooking class should definitely book this one!!
we loved Ugo and all the food we made, Best meal of our trip, He was an amazing teacher and easy to folliw
This was my favorite and my husband's favorite tour in Palermo ( and we had 5 paid tours during our 6 night stay in Palermo ) w Chef Ugo at his home. Making food together and visiting as friends. He was very prepared, very kind and welcoming. An experience w a Sicilian resident in their home is unique for a tourist and important to our quest to understand the world and its differences. There were thoughtful, fun & quirky things like the cup w the nose to strain the eggs, stories of his family etc & the tomatoes we used were from his family's garden. He has 2 B & B rooms that he renovated himself and rents out. I'm sure they are great too We loved it!
What an amazing experience with Ugochef. Very authentic Sicilian food , we learnt so much and had so much fun. Highly recommend this experience for visitors. Thank you Gianpiero and bravo!
Our cooking class was excellent from start to finish - we learned how to make delicious fresh fettuccine and ravioli from scratch, and whipped up the BEST tiramisu either of us had ever tasted. It was a wonderful evening with aperitivo, dinner, dessert, local wine and digestivo. Ugo was an excellent chef & instructor, and we felt welcome into his home in the heart of Palermo! We learned some local phrases over dinner too (fatti!), so it was the real Sicilian experience. Grazie mille!
We had such a great experience with Gianpiero! We made ravioli, tagliatelle and tiramisu, all the best we’ve ever eaten. He was very friendly and has a great sense of humour. Gianpiero has created a lovely space in his home and provided us with a cheese platter as well as prosecco, white and red wine. We all left very full and would definitely recommend to friends. Thanks so much ☺️
This experience was so fun. The chef was organized and it was really neat to be in his home cooking. He made good choices for what to cook and we all got to participate and there was four of us.. He truly made us feel like family. Served us wine. and water and even made dessert as well. It was a full meal. It was an incredible experience. I recommend everybody to do this in Palermo.
Gianpiero was fantastic! We made homemade pasta- ravioli and a tagliatelle with Sicilian pesto made from sun dried tomatoes and ricotta, and tiramisu. His instructions were clear and helpful, and he had a great sense of humour with great stories and information about Sicilian cuisine. He also provided some antipasti and amazing Sicilian wine. I now have some food to try out at home. I couldn’t recommend it more.
It was my first time in such an experience — I had actually given the activity away, but acabei also participating, and I can say that I would recommend it 1000%! Chef Ugo was super professional and, at the same time, very welcoming: he even played music from my country, making me feel really at home. The space is beautiful and super cozy. We made fettuccine, ravioli and tiramisu. And, since we couldn’t eat everything, Chef Ugo also gave us containers to take away — a very kind gesture. Super recommended: Chef Ugo is a guarantee!
