Boat Tour To Pillirina, Sea Caves And Ortigia & Swimming Stops

This was really a nice trip, with easy and secure booking and information on beforehand. Good english speakers both in booking and st the boat. 2 hours were perfect and we had time to swim and enjoy the sea and old town from ocean view. Truly recomended.

The tour and especially the tour agency were absolutely top notch. We were impressed and aooreciative of the friendliness, attention, care and support that we received from Tolanda and her team at Sicily Travel. They reached out to us before the tour to inform us that the weather condition for our morning tour made it unsafe for us to see the sea caves. They provided options for us to cancel or take another tour. We were disappointed, so they suggested taking an afternoon tour when the winds were likely to subside. We agreed, but then what do we do for several hours???. Tolanda arranged tuk tuks for several of us to tour the city - which was a herculean feat since the cruise ships were at port - while she provided eating and shopping options for others. Dealing with a group of 10 is like herding cats - not easy at all - but they were flexible and helpful in meeting everyone's needs. It felt like we were with family. They were happy, smiling, joking and extremely flexible... and personally walked us to our boat. The boat ride itself was worth the wait. It was extremely relaxing and our driver was entertaining. I highly recommend the tour and especially since it is run by young small business owners and not some major corporate entity.

This “tour” is just a boat ride to see caves from the water. The skipper didn’t speak English though he was very pleasant. We did not enter any caves even though the ticket very clearly said “entry/admission included”. The meeting place was incorrect and we were redirected multiple times. If you want an expensive boat ride, this is the tour for you. If you want a tour, this is not!

Great trip, we booked the 6pm tour and had plenty of time to swim off the boat and catch the sunset view around the island. Our tour guide was friendly and welcoming!

Aldo is a nice guy who made our trip more fun. After the 1st stop at Pillimira area you will know it was totally worth it! Trust me!

We selected English guide and got a couple of words in English from the skipper, and he was friendly to us when we spoke to him but got very little communication. There was a problem with a larger boat when we got to the place to swim, which was not the fault of our boat but meant we didn’t get a chance to swim properly at that point and were put off swimming later as my son ended up with cuts on his legs trying to get into the boat on the first stop. When there was that problem with the large boat getting too close to us, the skipper was great at jumping in to help a man who was struggling in the water, and maybe this affected him for the rest of the trip. We started late and finished earlier. All in all nice to be out in a boat but not the five star rated experience we expected for that price.

This was a perfect trip. The scenery was beautiful and the staff super helpful. Our skipper let us jump off the boat and swim. He was really attentive to my 2 young children and very encouraging to them. My youngest was a bit scared but our skipper helped him off the boat and it made his confidence swell. The second swim break he went right in. Thank you!

The Skipper was very friendly however more history/explanations would have been welcome. Unfortunately the Skipper spoke no English as promised online

Great experience! The views and water in Ortigia and Siracusa are incredible. The boat was a good size and not packed at all. The captain and skipper were also very nice and definitely added to the experience. We were served some Spritz and they stopped a few times to let us swim, including in the clear blue cave water. Definitely recommend!

Had a wonderful time experience on the boat tour. We were a group of 25, and from the front office to our boat drivers, everyone made the experience easy and fun.

There were three women (all solo) on this trip with Marco our Captain. It was a wonderful afternoon! We stopped three times for swims and shared some proseco! Perfect

This boat tour is not to be missed, the scenery is spectacular and our hosts were fun and knowledgeable. If you are in Sicily, you should book this tour, you will go to the Pillarina Caves and around the harbor of Siracusa.

Had a great day on the cave excursion and swimming in the sea. You will love the trip. Music and entertainment from the driver. He spoke Italian and a little of English, but this did not detract from his humor.

We booked an English speaking tour but all communication was in a different language. The tour wasn’t what we expected.

Great way to see Siracusa and get the opportunity for a nice swim in crystalline water with prosecco served at the end :).

The landscapes are breathtaking, the sea is crystal clear, and the organization was impeccable from start to finish. Very nice tour in the caves with final bathroom. Very good Captain Alessandro who, despite the rough sea, with great skill and 'managed to pass the boat under a very low bridge. That's funny!

Due to the weather (many waves), we were not able to explore the caves from the inside. Big disappointment, but we understand. However, we were never in Plemmirio (pillirina) and no one lent us a mask. Luckily we had ours but the bathing place was too close to Ortiggia to see anything. It is not the glasses of Prosecco offered that will make us forget that 2/3 of the service was not honored.

Unforgettable tour! It takes you around the island of Ortigia, from where you can see the city and the Maniace Castle. It is possible to visit the caves, appreciate the rocky formations and take a break for the diving

Suberb exusrsion in an exceptional setting. The excursion was with a group of about ten people. Warm welcome to the agency before going to the scene. Our Boat Guide was super nice (the tour also included a tasting) and visited several places to swim including Pillirina cave: a magical place... I went with my teenager and she also liked it very much. I recommend this experience!

Really a wonderful experience! We visited the caves and the Plemmirio area! The tour is two hours and gave us fabulous landscapes very suggestive at sunset! Friendly and helpful staff! Recommended!

2 hours with good views of the coast, caves and stops to take a bath in two coves. We really enjoyed it. And with the detail of having a palatable cold prosseco on such hot days

Fun and well organized experience After the tour of Syracuse and the visit of the caves, Mirco made us swim in two beautiful places, the children were over the moon. Then prosecco fresh fruit and music on the boat accompanied us towards a sunset on Ortigia that we will hardly forget.

We decided to take a boat tour to better admire the beauties that Syracuse and Ortigia offer and it was a great choice! We could admire the sea caves with the colors of turquoise water, we bathed in wonderful places and Marco, the captain, was very kind!

We rent this mini spectacular tour of the island of Ortigia, spectacular turn! The super gentle captain and on hand, explained the caves in a serious way and with the popular legends of the people who have grown up in this area! Then they took us to an area that if I'm not mistaken is called the pillyrin! The sea was spectacular! Children had fun fullllll We enjoyed an excellent sparkling wine from the area! The only negative part is that it lasts a short time! 🤣😍😜

We did a tour on the island of Ortigia spectacular! The captain was super available and super gentle! He explained all the history of the caves and popular legends! The sea was spectacular! Then we took a bath in an area that if I am not mistaken is called la pilirina!!!!, wonderful place! Included in the package was water and a delicious Sicilian sparkling wine! Too suggestive! The only negative thing is that it lasts only 2 hours😢🤣😜

Positive point: boat was not full Negative: little sparkling (only a bottle for the entire boat), delay in leaving, the captain spoke very limited English.

Anyone looking for a boat trip in a small group will not be disappointed. Unfortunately, there was no explanation of the area or history. The boat driver does not speak English and there is no guide. Relaxed trip, more like a taxi than a tour.

A great time spent during this excursion, a warm welcome, navigation in a small group with a friendly atmosphere, a tour around the island of Ortigia which allows you to see the architecture from another angle from the sea, a first stop in a sumptuous bay untouched by tourists for a little splash followed by a visit to the caves accompanied by a spritz, what could be better? You will be positively surprised by the last passage but I will not spoil this pleasure for you!
