Authentic Sicily Family Olive Grove Tour & Oil & Wine Tasting

It was informative and interesting. All products sampled ( olive oil, balsamic vinegar and glaze, wines and lemoncello) were all very delicious.

What a great tour & tasting! The grandson/vintner of the property conducted this tour. Francesco is knowledgeable, well-educated, and passionate, about both the olive & wine elements of his grandparents’ properties. What a delightful & informative day! Our bonus was having 10 year old Gabriella(?), the great grandson, along. We had lunch and the tasting in grandma & grandpa’s home, met grandma, and the aunt, and felt welcomed, by all! The olive oil, balsamic, balsamic glaze, 3 wines, and limoncello, were all great. Our suitcases will be heavier, going home! 😊 Wonderful experience Thank you!

Very informative, great knowledge of manufacturing, branding and sales of olive oil, balsamic and wines of his family business. Spoke great English, made us feel very welcomed with his personable energy. His grandma was a sweetheart who treated us well very well in her home. The hospitality was great! We arranged to be picked up in Palermo by the company's 'boss' Francesco and first stop was at the grove. Very informative and well timed wander through the olive trees. Back to his HQ (his grandparents place...lol) for the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, wine and limoncello tastings as well as a great lunch. Not much more I can say except for an excellent day out!

Interesting talk and visit to the olive groves. The meal olive oil, balsamic and wine tasting was exceptional would highly recomend this visit. The whole family was involved who were kind and very friendly.

Excellent experience . Frédéric’ was an excellent guide. Enjoyed the olive grove and olive tasting. The only suggestion was to better figure out the organization of the meeting point (or perhaps have less people to make it easier)

We did the 5pm tour on a Sunday. Great experience learning about a Sicilian family’s olive oil production. Francesco was very knowledgeable and friendly. After the olive grove tour, we tasted EVOO, balsamic, wine and lemoncello and enjoyed focaccia, cheese, caponata and olives. Highly recommend.

The meeting point for the tour was a bit confusing and we ended up parking in someone’s driveway. Francesco then drove us a bit further to get to the grove - it may have been better to meet closer to the olive grove. The olive grove tour was very interesting and informative - francesco was very good at explaining the process and answering our questions. We then went to his grandparents house for a cheese and tomato sandwich and olive oil and wine tasting, this was very interesting. We were worried it would be awkward being in their house but it was not. The wine was great however it would have been nice to focus a bit more on the olive oil and balsamic tasting.

What a lovely family run farm with outstanding olive oil! Be prepared to drive off road and DEFINITELY use the loo before you head out, but it’s an interesting experience for sure

We had the most wonderful and authentic experience visiting the olive grove and learning about the history behind the family’s small business. Francesco’s passion and enthusiasm were contagious, and we loved not only learning about olive oil and wine, but also tasting some of the most delicious olive oil, balsamic vinegar, wine and traditional Italian specialities. What made the experience truly special was the dinner in their private home, where the food was prepared and served. It felt like being welcomed into the family rather than simply attending a tasting. We left not only with a much greater understanding of olive oil and wine, but also with a glimpse into everyday life, dreams and ambitions of an Italian family running a small, family-owned business. A truly genuine, warm and memorable experience. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for something different, personal and authentically Italian. ❤️🇮🇹

This was a gem of a tour. It was really interesting to learn about the olives and see the grove, and then a delightful tasting with the family. Such a lovely atmosphere and very relaxed! And the olive oil and wine tastes stunning!

My husband and I really enjoyed our visit to Essensily Olive grove tour. It was a very authentic experience. I promise, you will not find a better one. Francesco was our tour guide. His knowledge and passion for their family business is very evident. Meeting his Grandmother was a very special part. We enjoyed their delicious olive oil with her homemade authentic Sicilian foods. If you’re in the area of Palermo, Trapani, even Cefalu… it’s worth the drive!!

This truly was a wonderful learning experience and an amazing opportunity for real Nonna food sampling! Francesco was so passionate in explaining his family’s olive oil and wine making. It was so heartwarming to share an authentic Sicilian lunch made by his Nonna and hearing Nonno’s stories!! This was one of the best tours we did in Sicily !

We had a great experience with Francesco and his family touring their police grove and enjoying the tasting back at his grandparents house. The tour was very educational and we really enjoyed trying not only the olive oil, balsamics, white and red wine and lemoncello but also all of the homemade food the mother prepared which were delicious!

We booked a private session (9 ppl) with Francesco and had a fabulous time. We really enjoyed the homely atmosphere and familial touches he's added to this tour. We were so lucky to have been able to do our tasting in his Nona & Nono's home. We were told that this would be changing next year! Also meeting Fancesca (mom) was a pleasure. If you are looking for a Sicilian experience and not a corporate tour, this is for you.

Francesco and his family gave us an extraordinary experience. It couldn't have been more perfect. My mom, older sister and I came from Puerto Rico to celebrate their birthdays and booked this experience last minute because of the good reviews and it has been the highlight of our trip. This tour was absolutely amazing. Walking through the historic olive groves in Balestrate and learning about the production from such a passionate local family was incredibly special. The tasting was fantastic. We loved the incredible olive oil, local wines, and traditional foods prepared by the family, as well as the balsamic vinegar and homemade limoncello. It felt so authentic and welcoming. If you are anywhere near Palermo, you absolutely have to book this!

This experience started with a tour of the olive groves and learning how Francesco and his family harvest and make olive oil but the real treat was going to Francesco’s grandparents house. We enjoyed a light lunch while trying all the wonderful products Francesco and his family make. Everything was delicious! Having his adorable grandparents join us and talk to us was the real treat. What a delightful family.

The experience was hands down one of the best of the entire vacation. I am not sure how the family managaes to be so welcoming and loving to so many people. You honestly believe these are your friends who have invited you over to see their love of Olive oil and Sicily and their home!!! It is very hard to put into words just how special this experience is. I walked away feeling very lucky to have had the time we did with this family. Everything was also delicious!!

Fabulous experience! We learned a lot about olives and the making of olive oil. Francesco is a wonderful host and very knowledgeable and entrepreneurial. Instead of feeling like another tour, this experience felt like visiting with local friends. You will meet Francesco’s family and be treated to a meal at the family table as you learn and taste olive oil, balsamic vinegars, wines and food made by his grandmother. What a treat! By luck I had a solo tour with Francesco, and I could not recommend it more! I was traveling Sicily solo in March 2026, and while staying in Castellammare del Golfo, booked this tour. In the booking, I asked if I could be picked up and then returned to my hotel, and I received a WhatsApp from Francesco a couple of days after booking confirming that this was possible (roundtrip cost 50 EUR). Francesco himself picked me up very punctually, and we drove through the olive groves. We had some bad weather, but during a break in the rain, we got out and he taught me about the olive growing process and how they manage on their farm, also giving a bit of family history in the process. After, we drove to his family's home where I also met his grandparents. Because the rain caused some flooding, Francesco even asked his grandma to lend me some slippers so my shoes could dry a bit - it was so sweet and I really felt like I was a part of their family for an afternoon. Then while trading stories about life, we tasted the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and three types of wine. Accompanying it was a selection of homemade (by Grandma!) snacks that were really just excellent. Pro tip: if you book the 11am tour, DO NOT EAT breakfast - or at least, only a small breakfast. Once we were finished, Francesco drove me back to my hotel (about 10 mins away). I left with some olive oil and balsamico, a fully stomach, and having been able to experience a behind-the-scenes look into a small, family-run business.

Francesco was very knowledgeable and answered our many questions about the olive tree and olive oil environment & processing. We enjoyed the walk through the olive grooves, the introduction to the town of Balestrate & the lovely sampling of olive oil, wine, balsamic vinegar and snack delicacies. A great tour

We thoroughly enjoyed meeting Francesco and his grandparents … and visiting his small Olive Grove. The highlight for sure was tasting the Olive Oil, 3 types of Wine, Balsamic Vinegar and Glaze, along with the Lemoncello… all produced here on the farm. We felt like friends in their home sitting around the table - and were joined by Francesco’s grandparents who own the farm. If you want an intimate tour from a knowledgeable grower, that is close to Palermo, this is a good choice.

We loved the owner’s explanation about olive harvesting while in his grove! The olive oil, balsamic vinegar, wine tasting, and food was amazing! So delicious! You could tell that his grandparents were proud of him for taking over the farm and expanding the business. This tour was a highlight of our trip to Sicily! Thanks for the amazing hospitality!

We took this tour of the olive groves and then did an olive oil, balsamic vinegar, wine and limoncello tasting. All we can say is that it was fantastic! Francesco was great. He’s studied agriculture and oeneology(wne making) and it shows. He presents a very informative tour (and is multi-lingual too) and answered all our questions about olives and wine. We then were literally welcomed into his grandparents home by Francesco’s grandmother and grandfather for a tasting of all of Essensily’s Sicilian made products. It was like sitting down for Sunday dinner with family. As we tasted each product, we feasted on complimentary foods; bread and cheese with the olive oil, caponata, sun dried tomatoes and olives. Everything is delicious! The wines are great. The balsamic vinegar and glaze, perfect. And the limoncello, served chilled and in chilled glasses was the crowning jewel. This tour and tasting was well worth it and highly recommended.

This is a wonderful 2 part experience, the first part is a tour of the owner's olive grove BY the owner, Francesco, and the second part is an olive oil and wine tasting of Essensily's products in Francesco's grandparents' house. Truly intimate and incredible experience.

The olive grove tour was informative and fun and off the beaten path. Francesco was an engaging host. The lunch we had at his grandparent’s home was a special treat. We got to taste the olive oil which is quite good. We also tasted 2 types of balsamic vinegar that they produce. There were 3 wines 2 white and 1 red that were of good quality as well. Lastly we finished with a delicious limoncello. It was a delightful afternoon and a great experience of the Sicilian culture. I would highly recommend this tour it is such a special and unique day

We had a fantastic time with Francesco on this olive grove tour. We learned so much and loved the tour as well as the tasting in Francesco’s grandparent’s home. It felt like visiting family! We tried olive oil, balsamic vinegar, balsamic glaze, wine & limoncello and they were all amazing! The traditional Sicilian food we had was absolutely delicious! We ended up buying some olive oil and balsamic vinegar as well as gifts to bring home. Definitely a must do!!
