All-inclusive Catania Street Food & Market Tour By Streaty

There so much food and drink. All centered around local cuisine. There were options so I was a little hesitant about a dish. I had a different option to try. The tour guides were extremely sweet.

Great tour, amazing and plentiful food with a great guide who told us the hository, ingredients and importance of the food. Would recommend to anyone looking for local fresh food at a reasonable price.

We had a wonderful food walking tour in Catania with Barbara. The variety of Sicilian dishes—both savoury and sweet—was excellent, and Barbara was incredibly friendly throughout. She answered every question, shared lots of insights about Catania, and made sure everyone’s needs were taken care of. The tour mixed well‑known spots with places we never would have found on our own, and the many stops (including restroom breaks) kept the pace comfortable. A great experience if you want to get to know the city through its food. We’ll definitely join Streaty Food Tours in other cities.

Our guide, Gisella, was amazing. She was clearly in love with her work and her enthusiasm made the tour so much more fun. She shared stories that brought the area to life and the food we experienced was amazing. Gisella's relationships with the proprietors seemed genuine and real - not just a business relationship. We got so much more out of this tour than we expected. Thank you!

I had an amazing time joining this tour solo. It was a great introduction to the city, its food, and some added context about Catania. Our tour guide was Allegra, and she showed us some of her favorite spots, which felt very authentic. Another thing I really appreciated was that I had some travel delays the day of my tour, but Allegra was very communicative and I was able to successfully meet the group ~30mins into the tour.

We are repeat customers because of our past experiences being so enjoyable. The guide gave us all a great "taste" of what Catania and greater Sicilia have to offer to visitors. The food choices were wonderful and a good balance for those with a less adventorous palette.

I went on my own peivate tour with Giselina. We were supposed to be 8 people, but she ended up only with me (sorry Giselina :)) ). It was a real pleasure having her show me around, it really felt like it was a well spent evening, with lots of great food, with a new found friend from Catania. Giselina is all smiles and rainbows, she makes you feel at home. And the food was great, I especially enjoyed the Arancini. Thank you for the experience!

Catania was a stop on our cruise and we decided to look outside the excursions and go with this tour listed on Viator. We met Allegra a few minutes earlier than our scheduled tour time in a very easy to find area. She was very friendly and provided information on what the tour would entail. She was very knowledgeable and at each stop she had a connection that got us a great seat and service. The markets were fun to walk through and the food very authentic to the region and delicious. Would definitely recommend this tour and thank you Allegra!

Allegra was a terrific tour leader. I’m a foodie we tasted all the classic specialties of Catania. Tour was very, very well organized and a fun group of people from a cruise ship, to an American family living in Italy to solo travelers. From quality of food and restaurants we stopped one of the best food tours I have been on. It was very, very hot. I can’t say enough good things about Allegra and Streaty foods. Must-do tour in Catania! You can discover the city through delicious food and a very engaging guide, the variety of food is excellent and you can learn about the history and the culture of the city in a fun way. Make sure to come hungry! Overall it was a wonderful experience

An absolutely must-do in Catania! Barbara gave us an amazing immersion into local gastronomy and culture. She’s warm, knowledgeable and welcoming. Every local dish and drink we tried was fresh, delicious and beautifully prepared. Seeing my daughter, who has been a bit of a picky eater lately, eat with pure appetite and happiness was a double joy for me. Time passed way too fast! A truly authentic experience to live.

Allegra was wonderful taking us around Catania for this food tour! The food was amazing, the experience was enlightening and full of information and history! There was only a little walking, it wasn’t far. This was a truly lovely experience and I would 100% do it again!

Our street food tour with Allegra was an absolute highlight! She guided us through the vibrant local market and introduced us to some fantastic hot spots. On a hot day, she had us try a traditional drink of lemon, soda water, and salt, which was incredibly refreshing and nourishing. The food was incredible—we enjoyed mouth-watering arancino, fresh seafood salad, and an array of delicious deep-fried treats. The entire experience felt wonderfully authentic. We finished the tour with fresh peaches and topped it all off with traditional Sicilian granita. Highly recommend!

Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The only complaint that we would have is that the food on this tour was not as we had expected which is a big part of this tour. There were things like octopus and sardines that many people did not partake of. We passed on several of the food offerings. Also, we ourselves are not vegetarians, but this tour struggled to accommodate vegetarians.

Allegra was fantastic! She was friendly and easy to understand. She mixed history lessons with the food tour to provide an entertaining and yummy experience! 10/10 worth the money. So much food, we couldn't eat it all. Skip breakfast completely for the lunch tour time.

There was us and our fabulous guide Allegra. VIsit the market tried new food and did a little shopping while we were there. Catania market is amazing. Never see anything like this before with swordfish looking like ham. Tried the lemon szeltzer which I had again on another visit. A lot of fun and we were just 3 which made it more intimate. Very nice time

We met Gisela at our meeting point as instructed. We couldn't have been more blessed with our guide. Never met a guide so gracious, articulate, knowledgeable, spontaneous, charismatic and full of life and love for what she does. She had us tried so many things and for each bite she provided a complete encyclopedia of information. She adjusted the walk as experiences opened up to new adventures. What a natural! Thank you for the memories. Note: try not to eat much before heading to this tour.

From start to finish, Giuseppe was absolutely fantastic. We would highly recommend him to anybody who wants to have the flavor of Sicily. But also learning a lot about Sicilian history and the overall culture.

3 hour tour that could have been done in 2 Gisella was very friendly and personable with a knowledge of interesting facts but I didn’t think the tour was value for money.

Our tour with Giuseppe was AMAZING! He is such a nice, friendly and knowledgeable man. He knew so much about the history of our food and Sicily that I was entertained from the very start of the tour. The variety of foods and drinks I'd not had before, which I was very thankful for. Sampling the different kinds of beverages in addition to the foods was a great idea. I would highly recommend taking this tour if you can. Hopefully you are lucky to get our new friend Giuseppe!

Barbara is an absolute superstar! We learned so much about Catanese cuisine and its fascinating volcanic history. Barbara isn't just a guide; she’s your local best friend and an incredible expert. The food was insane—the arancini were the best we’ve ever had, and the fresh seafood at the fish market was a real show! We were never without a cold drink in hand. The unexpected surprise was the visit to a lava tube cave hidden under the city—standing where fire once flowed was pure magic! A 10/10 experience that felt like hanging out with a friend.

Had a great tour! Our guide showed us around the city and telling us about the culture and history, while we tried different local foods like seafood from the famous street food market, horse meat and some cakes to mention some. Our guide also gave us some recommendations for the rest of our stay in Catania which we really appreciated!
