Prior to coming here I stayed at Una Capotaormina and I am just impressed with this hotel chain! Great hospitality. Rooms are very clean and spacious. The concierge was very helpful in setting up our taxi to take us to the airport early in the morning. They also gave us a boxed breakfast! Great location, very central and walking distance to most places.
A Truly Memorable Stay in Catania I genuinely had a fantastic stay at Palace Catania | UNA Esperienze and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Catania. From the moment I arrived, I was made to feel incredibly welcome. A special mention has to go to the Check-In Clerk, who was exceptionally friendly, professional and accommodating. They very kindly arranged a complimentary room upgrade, which was such a lovely surprise and immediately made the stay feel that little bit more special. The hotel itself is beautiful, combining elegant Sicilian character with modern comfort, and its location in the heart of Catania is perfect for exploring the city. One of the biggest highlights for me was having access to the rooftop restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The views are absolutely fantastic — overlooking the rooftops and city of Catania, with a direct and spectacular view of Mount Etna. Sitting on the rooftop enjoying a meal with Etna in the background was genuinely one of those moments that makes a trip memorable. What I appreciated most was the level of hospitality. The staff were warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming, and the complimentary upgrade and overall service made me feel particularly well looked after. Overall, it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Beautiful hotel, fantastic location, exceptional hospitality and incredible views of Catania and Mount Etna. A very well-deserved 5 stars. I would absolutely stay here again when I return to Catania.
We had a great stay at Palace Catania. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the hotel is in an excellent location. You can walk to just about everything, making it a great base for exploring Catania. Breakfast was decent but fairly simple, with enough to get your day started without being anything particularly memorable. The valet parking at €25 per day felt a little expensive, although that’s pretty common in city centres. The only downside during our stay was that there was a homeless man outside the hotel who repeatedly approached guests asking for money. That’s likely beyond the hotel’s control, but it did take away from the overall experience a bit. Overall, it’s a clean, well-located hotel with comfortable rooms, and I’d definitely consider staying here again.
I had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay during my first visit to Catania. The hotel offers spacious, clean, and well-appointed rooms with excellent amenities, although some areas of the décor could benefit from a minor refresh. The staff were consistently friendly, professional, and attentive throughout my stay. The reception process was smooth and efficient, and the front desk manager, in particular, demonstrated exceptional courtesy and helpfulness, making a lasting positive impression. One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast, which offered a delicious selection of hot, fresh dishes each morning. Palace Catania's location is also excellent, providing a pleasant walk to Catania's main attractions. Overall, the property offers outstanding value for money, and I would gladly recommend it to others and choose to stay there again on a future visit.
My stay at this hotel was very disappointing. As soon as you arrive, they place an additional €150 hold on your card “just in case,” even though the full amount has already been paid in advance. On top of that, at the end of your stay they ask you to pay extra taxes, which feels misleading. Nothing matches the photos. The breakfast area is completely different and there is no terrace as shown. If you ask the reception for help with trips (for example to Mount Etna), they will offer very overpriced options, most likely their own transport, so you’re better off organizing things yourself. When we entered the room, the sink was already clogged and we had to call staff to fix it. The room was not very clean and overall nothing special. The breakfast could definitely be better. If you are vegan or gluten-free, don’t expect to find suitable options. We didn’t have dinner included, but we tried the hotel restaurant on our first evening. The prices were very high and the selection was poor, so we ended up eating much better in the city for a lot less money. Overall, I do not recommend this hotel.
