Hotel Riviera Palace

Great hotel right across from the beach. Good breakfast, common areas and beautiful pool. Perfect for families. Our room was comfortable, with sit in balcony facing the ocean. The only drawback was the rooms hallways and room had old carpet. Not what we expected at a beach hotel but good value.

I have been to Italy for the last 12 years straight and I have never been charged for water bottles that they leave in the fridge. I tipped the cleaning crew every morning, they always refilled the water bottles asking if our preference was flat or sparkling. Upon checkout, we were charged 27Eu for water. If this was the case it should have been communicated to us or have a sign on the fridge saying that they charge. There is a mini mart not far from hotel we could have gotten water for a fraction of the price. Staff always seems bothered and impatient and provide answers laugh as well that’s the way it is. My sister was here 3 years ago and it was not like this. Rooms are very small. The only thing that is great is the beachfront location.

Porto Empedocle has all the ingredients to become a very nice beach town which is quite close to the Ancient Greek temples of Agrigento. However for now it’s a still a quite hidden gem. This hotel has nice rooms, good breakfast, private parking and best of all: it’s literally next to the beach.

Massively exceeded expectations. Beautiful views, stunning pool, very clean throughout, comfiest bed we’ve stayed in so far, very helpful/friendly staff and the pizzeria 3 min walk away made best pizza so far in Sicily! Feels like this is an up and coming destination.
