Grand Hotel Victoria

If you’re looking for an authentic Italian experience stay in the beautiful town. Very few tourists make this place special because all local businesses cater for the residents unlike Roma, Milano, Amalfi Coast etc. The train station is walking distance for a trip to Tropea or Reggio Calabria which are both great places to visit. One of the best experiences in Bagnara is to walk around the town after dinner and mingle with the locals. The way of life here is ‘perfetto’. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable and beautifully positioned. Don’t expect the Ritz, it’s not that type of hotel but it’s great. Recommend getting an ocean view room.

This hotel absolutely scammed us when we had damages in one of our rooms! My party booked 3 rooms for 4 nights and in one of the rooms the balcony door was broken upon arrival, and when we asked for help to fix it (or else the AC stays off), they told us that WE inflicted the damage and charged us over $200 in added fees at check-out! If your room has damage when you walk in, good luck explaining in any language that it was not your fault, they will probably just charge you anyway. Being that we were Americans in less touristy part of the country, I wonder if they took advantage of us because we aren't locals. Sad to see because my family is from this area and I have many relatives currently living in Bagnara and the nearby communes, but now I will need to find somewhere else to stay when I visit them because I will never book a stay here again.

A gem of what a hotel should be with the utmost Italian hospitality. Everyone of the staff is exceptional. We have never experienced this level of care about their guests. They really look out after us. We have had some unfortunate incidents with our rental car. Everyone at the front desk went above and beyond to help us. They work in a team with no regard for title -- take care of the guests is the only goal. Very impressive as you don't see this kind of service anymore anywhere. Employees seems happy here. There's a difference. Rooms are clean and quiet. Daily cleaning. Good neighbors in the next rooms. This hotel seems to attract the respectful guests. A wonderful beachfront hotel each room with balcony. Even the city view is pretty with the mountains and bridges.

You will not regret staying at Grand Hotel Victoria. Traditional service where every need is catered for. Rooms are spacious, tidy and clean. Breakfast is plentiful with traditional Italian breakfast fare (cakes and pastries freshly baked each day). Central location and if you can afford a beach view, the balcony rooms are splendid. Watched the sun set n many warm September nights. But the most impressive part of our stay at Grand Victoria, is the host - Rosario! Nothing was too hard and he took care of us like we were family. You have a sore tummy? Then expect a chamomile tea from Rosario. Needing to know how to get to some place? Rosario will provide detailed steps on how to get anywhere! A true treasure and typical of the warm friendly people we met in Bagnara
