Two parts to this review. First, we stayed here as part as an organised tour. Staff we all lovely and attentive. Lovely hotel with lovely rooms. Second, my Father-in-Law and I sat in the lobby for 13 hours whilst my Mother-in-Law was in the local hell hole of a hospital accompanied by my wife. Staff looked after us checking if we were ok even providing a couple of sandwiches and a bottle of water (many thanks Salvatore). Salvatore then explained he had informed Rita of our plight and she would attend to sorting out the taxi. When my MiL and wife finally managed to escape she organised the taxi to pick them up and made sure everything was ok.

Grand Hôtel Mosè – Agrigento A last-minute upgrade from the hotel next door turned out to be a blessing in disguise. If you believe the reviews, we got lucky. The Grand Hôtel Mosè is a classic mid-range stay — simple, functional, and well located just a few minutes from the Valley of the Temples. My room featured a firm bed and straightforward furnishings, perfectly adequate after a long travel day. The walls were a little thin, and the AC had clearly seen better days, making it a bit of a challenge to cool down the room after a warm mid-October afternoon. We had a group dinner in the main dining area — bright, spacious, and surprisingly good. The lasagna was comforting and flavorful, and the tartufo dessert a wonderful way to end the meal. Reception staff were friendly and efficient, helping us get settled quickly. Some rooms open onto an outdoor corridor near the pool area, which adds charm, even if the pool itself was closed for the season. The next morning’s breakfast buffet offered a generous variety — from croissants, pies, and baked goods to eggs, bacon, yogurt, and more. A nice balance of sweet and savory options, perfect before heading out to explore Agrigento’s magnificent ruins. Overall, a convenient and pleasant stay — functional rather than luxurious, but ideally located and well managed, with good food and welcoming staff.
The hotel has a magnificent pool and an interesting layout with interior patios to sit in. And a lovely area around the pool with plenty of space to chill/ sunbathe. Hotel In places looking a bit “tired” or old fashioned though. Breakfast room/ restaurant large. Savoury/ hot options at breakfast limited and bacon undercooked. Croissants amazing (especially the chocolate) but they run out of the croissants very early so you have to go down with plenty of time. The bar isn’t inviting with wedding style chairs, but the prices are reasonable for a hotel. The hotel could earn more money with a younger attitude and a bit of revamping though.. for example a better advertised pool bar, opening a chill lounge on the rooftop.. maybe entertainment ..?
Pleasant hotel overall. Breakfast spread was nice but would be nicer if the coffee machines were more spread out to prevent congestion. Rooms were clean. Bath was small but functional. Once again more hooks would be nice but there were plenty of towel bars. Soap was provided as well as towels. Air conditioning worked well and plenty of warm water was available without fluctuating temperatures. We only stayed one night and it was quiet and comfortable. The mattress was adequate and there were extra pillows in the closet to choose from. There is an elevator and stairs. Lobby area has plenty of seating. Our sink drain was not functioning and when we reported the issue we got an immediate response and it was repaired. We would stay here again. No frills but comfortable at a good price point. Theme was centered around a local landmark. There is a grocery store close by.
