We were picked up promptly at the time arranged. Nini (our guide) was very cheerful and very informative. Her English was good and we appreciated her local knowledge. We really enjoyed the water town itself. Despite what I had read, the day we visited the village was not over-run with tourists even though it was a fine day. The local shops obviously cater for the tourist trade, but the shop owners live in the town (often above the shop) so this made it feel more authentic. Our visit to the silk factory was informative, but more time was spent there than necessary. The process and products were fascinating. The Chinese style dinner was tasty - at a restaurant in a bustling Chinese food precinct. We were in a corner that had storage shelves beside, but we enjoyed the cuisine. We did think we would be dining on the river, but this was not the case. The river cruise is very pretty with all the buildings around the Bund lit up. It took less than an hour, but was a great experience. Nini left us after the cruise and the driver returned us to our hotels. The only real negative of the day was the condition of the mini-van. It was older and had a lot of major squeaks and rattles, not enough seat belts, and very poor suspension. There were 3 of us in the back seat and by the end of the evening we had sore backs from the rough ride. That aside, I would recommend the tour as being good value for money and a great experience.
It's not so much a tour as it is transfers and assistance. But worth it for the ease, Shanghai has been hard to navigate. Although our guide did give us some information on the drive to Zhujiajiao. The water town is definitely worth seeing - boat rides cost extra but worth it. The silk museum was interesting and we rushed through it at our pace! Dinner was not on board the river cruise, it was in a little cheap looking local place, but was interesting. The cruise was stunning!! You can pay 50rmb each and go out the front- do it!!! It was insanely crowded otherwise.
Not a “mini” group but rather large. Not even a “tour” just a ride to Zhujiajiao with instructions to meet back up after an hour of free time. The part of town they take you to is HIGHLY commercialized, skip it. Silk “museum” is actually a shop where they put the pressure on to buy and don’t let you leave for a long time. Dinner: worst food in shanghai, barely edible, also NOT onboard like advertised. More free time on the bund while you wait for cruise, oh wait the tour operator didn’t get tickets early enough for the cruise so it’s another 45 minutes of free time on the bund! Finally get to the riverboat cruise, VERY crowded, but still best part of tour. Drop off at hotel takes foreeeeeeeeeeever because they have to drop everyone else off first. Skip this tour. Pay a little more and get something worthwhile. Also, tour guide Jason was full of misogynistic jokes so if that’s your style then maybe you should go on the tour.
We purchased 2 tours and had the pleasure of having Ding as our guide for both tours. He took us to the watertown and led us through the narrow streets. Our tour included a gondala ride through the city. Wonderful!

The tour was very nice and well organized. I would have liked if our guide, Leo, would have showed us around a little in Zhujiajiao but we did enjoy the free time. Leo was very knowledgeable about the city and provided lots of insight. He also went above and beyond by helping us with other accommodations and recommendations. He was definitely an amazing resource and knew what he was doing.

This is not worth seeing - there's nothing much - our tour guide Jason wasn't helpful either - he's always on his phone and we definitely had lots of free time since he would just leave us quite often and when walking, he would walk ahead of us on his own quite often. The included dinner that was part of this tour was just awful as the food wasn't even hot.

It was a very ice Tour . Especialy the night cruise was worth thr money. When in Shanghay, the night cruise is a must.

This was a very enjoyable tour and we would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience Shanghai and its surroundings. Leo, or tour guide, was very knowledgeable and full of interesting information about the sites and Shanghai life. The water town was really interesting but we were a little disappointed that the river boat was not included in the cost of the tour as everyone wanted to do it and it really was a highlight.
The night tour on the river was amazing but again, in order to get access to the top deck, the only way to take photos we were charged extra on top of the ticket price in fairness this may have been due to the National Holiday as Leo did not seem aware of this
Just a warning .....we were herded to a couple of shops, a Silk shop and a Pearl and Jade shop which were blatant attempts to sell gullible tourists overpriced goods. Not unexpected, but as we had been taken to the exact same two stores on a previous tour 2 days before, it was a little annoying!

Not as advertised. No buffet dinner during the cruise. You had to pay extra to get on the top deck on the cruise boat. Many disappointments.

Not overly impressed with this tour, was disappointing in a number of areas. Firstly the guide Luna came across as inexperienced and this resulted in many of the issues. First stop was silk factory, interesting to see silk worms and the process to make silk but largely a sales pitch to buy silk products which took up bulk of the time on this stop. Next up was at Zhujiajiao where we walked through to the central area. Luna said very little about the history of the area and made no mention of the boats that travel around the canels until I asked. At which point we were advised this would extra cost AUD8 which was no issue for anyone and the whole tour group did this. I would rather just pay a little extra in the tour cost and have this included.
From here we returned to the Bund for the Huangpu River Cruise but were 2 hours early. The Bund is great but two hours of unstructured time on a paid tour and a guide who was unable to give guidance on what we could do in the area was not what I expected. We returned to the meeting point at sunset to meet up with rest of the group and took our bus to the cruise terminal. More waiting time here in excess of 40 minutes as no pre arranged tickets and again lots of confusion. Eventually got on the cruise and on to the next disappointment. My partner is vegetarian and we had requested and had confirmed a vegetarian meal but he received the same as everyone else which was pretty much all pork. I spoke to Luna but she knew nothing of the request and whilst she offered her rice the whole incident seemed to fluster her and then she made a comment about Indians not eating pork, but my partner was Caucasian so he should. The cruise itself was fine, dinner for me average and my partner had to skip dinner with nothing else available.
To top off everything, when we got on the bus to head back to our respective hotels, Luna advised us that she had to get to the Metro station and was the first one dropped off with barely a goodbye. I have never experienced this on a tour before with guides normally staying until the last guests are returned to their hotels.
All in all pretty disappointing and hard to recommend. I will acknowledge that Viator and operator provided a partial refund in relation to the lack of the vegetarian meal.

The Tour guide was great full of useful information, good English. The water town markets was crowded on the day we went however it was well worth the trip. We tried Shanghai dumplings at one of the little restaurants leading into the markets and they were sensational, and a trip on one of the small boats on the river was lovely. The best way to see all the lights on the Bund is on an cruise and the boat we were on was extremely large, the food was different and eatable just don't expect to much I found the entire day a very enjoyable trip, also made up by the company of fellow travellers from USA Japan and England.

The water town was nice to see and a great way to end our stay in Shanghai. We had a few hours to kill in between the water town and the cruise. Cruise was amazing! We were the only ones in VIP section and got a deck to ourselves. Weather was great and the view is amazing. Our guide Dylon English name was the best tour guide we have ever had. His English was good and he was really funny. Made the tour even better. Would definitely recommend.

The guide was very good and the way the tour was conducted was fine. Zhujiajiao itself was great to see. We had already had silk factory and river tour experiences a few days before this tour so we weren't so excited about those parts.

I enjoyed the visit to the water town, its interesting but crowded and very much the tourist attraction. Be advised that the ride to the water town is between 60 and 90 minutes each way. The River Night Cruise was enjoyable with Dim Sum provided, its a great opportunity take some wonderful pictures. My tour guide was very good and treated me like a VIP.

I advised my guide that I had visited the Silk Factory on another tour so I was spared another visit. Its seems that every tour includes at least one visit to a Silk Factory, Jade Factory, Pearl Factory or a Tea Ceremony, all of which are a mildly interesting orientation followed by an opportunity to purchase. Given my choice I would skip all of these orientations

Lovely experience of a water town. Was cold but we thoroughly enjoyed the boat ride through the water town. Walking through the market was also good.

This was a great tour. Our guide Leo was so thorough with confirming pick up details...he called and left a message on our motel room phone, also made sure there was a written message, plus called again and spoke with us. There were only 4 of us on this tour, so we were able to ask many questions and felt we got to know Leo quite well. It was quite a drive to Zhujiajiao but it was nice to see the countryside. The river cruise was lovely. I highly recommend this tour.

Water village was well worth going, the silk factory wished I had stayed in van. Staff followed us all about trying to get us to buy. Felt very uncomfortable glad to get out! Cruise was good, buffet not great. Mini-van had no seat belts in back and had long journey to water village, not safe.
The guide was excellent she was so nice and answered all questions. I would give her 5 stars!

Very good, The guide was very helpfull and willing to have everybody happy. She even sang a traditional song on the bus for all of us. She has a very good voice. About the boat, the trip is very good and the dinner, nothing special, just what you would imagine from a buffet like this.
