Late Night Food Tour In The Shanghai's French Concession

Wonderful experience! Tried lots of food I would never have tried myself, but we’re all very good quality and tasty! Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Timberly was an amazing guide for a fun night of local bites and great beer. Every stop allowed us to try dishes and flavors we would never have experienced alone. Not to mention learning about the Shanghai history which shaped the dishes and flavors. Highly recommend this to anyone who would like a great night out.

ZJ gave us a great food tour full of foods I haven’t tried and a lot of local restaurants that I would have never found myself. He was also great entertainment and was very engaging for the whole 3 hours. There were only two of us on the tour which enhanced the experience as we got to talk about just about anything whilst eating delicious foods. We had great discussions about food and also lots of deep conversations about the country and culture. I’ve been on about 10 or so food specific tours around the world and this one is the best so far. Also great beer choices were made. Usually I’m not bothered writing up proper reviews but this one definitely deserved it. Thanks ZJ and keep in touch.

We had a wonderful food tour with ZJ yesterday. His restaurant recommendations were truly authentic—some were hidden gems that even many local Shanghainese may not have experienced. His in-depth yet engaging stories about Shanghai’s food history and culture made every tasting much more meaningful. ZJ also provided excellent service throughout the tour and was exceptionally thoughtful and attentive. A delicious and memorable experience that we would highly recommend!

We had such a wonderful experience with our tour guide, ZJ! We enjoyed so many delicious foods, including scallion oil noodles, tea, xiaolongbao(steamed dumplings), shengjianbao (fried dumplings), Uyghur -style barbecue skewers. Everything was delicious, and it was such a great way to experience the local food and culture. ZJ was incredibly attentive, thoughtful, and caring throughout the whole experience. He always made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. One small detail that really impressed us was that he always carried wet wipes and dry tissues with him—such a thoughtful touch! Pick up was easy and huge range of foods to sample. Lotus was excellent company and super-knowledgable about the different cuisines. Highly recommended

Just not helpful at all. Address to meet didn’t work on the didi app so the driver tried to find it to no avail. Then tried to meet them at the first place but they wouldn’t wait 2 minutes due to bad traffic (i have the time stamp) then they refused to let me meet them after they had just left. Crap experience

Jamie was an excellent tour guide! As a native Shanghainese, she knew the best spots and had helpful information to share about the cultural, history, and of course food. All of the dishes were outstanding and we felt there was a great variety of things we would not have tried on our own. Would highly recommend booking this tour for your next visit to Shanghai.

I would totally recommend this tour to anyone visiting Shanghai. I ended up being the only one on the tour, so as a solo traveller I really appreciated that they were still able to accommodate me. Lotus took me to many different places and as a dessert lover I really appreciated getting to try so many different kinds. It was like walking around with a friend :) I also want to mention that I have a tree nut allergy and had zero issues. I never felt worried about anything I was eating. Thank you for the fun night Lotus!

We had the best time with Jaime! Everything we tried was so good, fun, and fresh. Definitely had some items and went places we never would have found on our own. The highlight was the pan-fried buns at the end. As much food and drinks that you could want were ordered. Jaime was so great and personable; she really made the tour fun for everyone! I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Shanghai.

Absolutely loved this tour! Jamie was amazing at only the young age of 24 and was able to answer any question thrown at her. She is passionate about her heritage and culture and I was glad that I could learn something on the tour. The food was varied and each place had adequate time to taste and learn about the cuisine. I felt quite full after the tour so go with an empty belly! The walking was not strenuous at all so any age could take part. Jamie ensured we could all get home safely after the tour. Highly recommend! She even organised a cute matcha cake as it was my 40th birthday on the day of the tour.

The pace and variety of stops were very good, and my food preferences of not eating meat and spice tolerance were taken into account!

So much wonderful food, definitely show up hungry! Jamie is friendly, knowledgeable, and speaks wonderful English. Small group, great restaurants, huge variety of foods. Highlights were the peanut sauce noodles, potstickers, meat skewers with grilled vegetables, and the BEST dumplings. Highly recommend!

Jamie was a beautiful soul and so enjoyable to spend a bit of time with. Very knowledgeable on the area and the food. She also went out of her way to help us connect as our driver had taken us to incorrect meeting spot.

Patrick was such a great guide to show the different food options from different parts of China. Also, if you are interested he is great to talk about Chinas culture. The reviews don’t lie, come hungry, there is soooo much food. Must try whilst in Shanghai.

It is a fantastic opportunity to be immersed like a local in the history, culture and food of Shanghai. If you want to experience the native Shanghai, I highly recommend this tour! It is a small group and the tour guide tailors the stops to your needs and preferences. Also so much food! I definitely will do the tour again when I'm back in Shanghai. 5 stars!

The tour was amazing! We ate many dishes that we otherwise would never have tasted, all absolutely delicious! Our tour guide Jaime, who speaks English very well, knew so much about the food and where to go. It was so much fun hanging out with her while she was showing us the city and teaching us about its history and about her culture as a Shanghainese. 10/10 would recommend!

I was on a night food tour with Jamie. The food was amazing. I can't tell you how good the dumplings were, you have to taste them yourself. Jamie was a great guide. She has a lot of knowledge about Shanghai and is super easy going. That was great, because sometime food tour guides are always so stressed. But with her it was really relaxed and I was able to really enjoy every stop.

This was one of the best tours I have ever been on! Our tour dad was extremely knowledgeable, and spoke very good English, he was so easy to understand. The food was amazing. We did not feel rushed. It was an awesome experience.

TJ was a fabulous local guide (must be her librarian training!). She answered all of our endless questions patiently, and gave us time to savor the food at each location, as opposed to rushing us through each spot. I was here for a week and this was the best food I tried the whole time. Come hungry, as there are multiple stops with big portions. If you can schedule the tour with TJ, you're going to have a great time.

We did a tour guide with Kurt. He was very friendly and showed us 5 different restaurants of the Shanghai cuisines. They were all very good restaurants with incredible delicious meals!
