Our tour was well organized with good communication ahead so we'd know what to expect. Our guide May was generous with tastings and great company. We had a memorable day. Highly recommend!

We had a great experience with Alana. Once we arrived in Qibao, we first visited the main shopping street, full of traditional houses, and then started our tour with delicious dumplings. We then wandered through a long street food area where Alana made some special recommendations and we were also able to pick out a few things we were interested in. Everything was so tasty and new, really great. Then we visited a local temple, had another great lunch and finished our tour at a nice tea house to relax after the walk. It's a great tour to learn about Chinese culture and food.
Alana was the perfect host. The market was the perfect place to get to the heart of Shanghai and mingle with the locals.
I had a fantastic time on this tour. Alana was fantastic, and there was so, so much great food. Definitely a highlight of my trip. I only wish I'd had room to eat more. Alana was great guiding me through using the Shanghai metro for the first time, taught me a lot about Chinese history and culture, showed me some really amazing sites in Qibao, and knew exactly where to go for the best food I've had in months. I'm recommending her tour to all my friends who visit Shanghai. I also cannot stress just how many good options there are. Without Alana, it would have been overwhelming, and a lot harder to navigate.
Had a fantastic tour with Zoe! She’s so friendly, incredibly sweet, and knowledgable. It felt like I was with a good friend!!
Had a Great time wandering around the streets and temples. Ate some lovely food. It was perfect having a local with us to help everything.
May was brilliant. Very well spoken, and respectful. The food she showed us was just as good as the knowledge of Buddhism she imparted. Highly recommend.
had a great walk around and was excited to try some local dishes. my gide was very insitefull and one the first things he checked was if I has any dietary needs or concerns. he then did a great job of keeping up on them. sadly one of the things we order did have an ingredient I couldn't have but he cought it right away saving me from an unhappy day. All in All it was a great day trying new foods, learning some history and checking out a temple. Splerge for the massage your Feet will thank you. give it a try!
This tour exceeded my expectations, largely because of the conversation with Nán and the opportunity to learn more about Chinese culture. The food we sampled along the way was delicious and I enjoyed the explanations of the various culinary delights. I felt lucky to have Nán as my guide, she is smart, kind and very knowledgeable.
My tour with Queena was fantastic! The town itself is great for a day trip with many rivers. I was able to try any food I wanted, but was also guided by Queena to make sure I was able to try some classics the classics. Make sure to come hungry, because you will leave full! I was able to try much more food than I had thought. Itâââ‰â¢s exactly the kind of food tasting experience I was looking for. I also really enjoyed seeing the Buddha Temple. Highly recommend anyone visiting Shanghai to take a break and dip in to a bit of Chinese history.
Today we did the 3-hour tour of Qibao with Queena who is a very friendly and enthusiastic guide. She took us through the old Qibao and the Temple. We tried lots of traditional foods (our favorites were the Bamboo Rice and Fried Dumplings) and ended the day with a beautiful tea ceremony. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone.
My friend and I had our tour with Alana during our 12 hr layover coming home. Thank goodness for Alana because we did not have a good experience with Shanghai during our first layover. The dumplings and milk tea, and massage we tried were awesome. We were so tired from our 3 week trip in Asia that we fell asleep everywhere we went. The weather that day was way too hot to enjoy eating much else, but I would definitely recommend this tour and our guide, Alana, to anyone going to Shanghai :-)
I booked this tour right before getting on the plane for Shanghai. I had a 14 hr layover and wanted to make the best of it. I met up with Alana, my guide for the day, at the People’s Square in front of the Urban Planning Exhibition Center and started off on our tour. Just a word of advise. It’s best getting to People’s Square via the subway/metro. It’ll only cost you 5 yuan or so. Because I booked so short noticed, my tour ended up being a private tour. Which I don’t recommend, and I’ll tell you the reason later. My tour guide Alana was absolutely fabulous. She is very knowledgeable of the town and she’s been a tour guide for “a very long time.” As we arrived to Qibao on the metro, we started our tour. Our first stop was the 100 Year Old Dumpling Restaurant. Which was awesome! The best dumplings I’ve ever had! They were so flavorful, salty/savory and filled with broth! Alana also ordered us steamed eggs which was also delicious. We then continued down the street lined with snack shops. I didn’t know where to start! Everything looked so good! From various meats on a stick, to frozen drinks, to all varieties of fruits, it was all amazing! Just remember to have a friend with you! The portions are of a considerable size and it helps to have someone to share the amazing grub with! After food street we headed over to the Buddhist Temple and checked out all the Chinese Deities where Alana was very informative. By the way it was a pretty hot day so we went to a tea house afterwards. It was air conditioned and overlooked the river. I had the milk tea while Alana had the strawberry smoothie. It was a nice reprieve from the heat. Finally we hit up the massage parlor for a nice hour long foot massage! OMG! I’ve had a few foot massages in my day but this place was hands down the best foot massage I’ve ever had. I fell asleep twice. I would definitely recommend this tour. And I would do it again myself!
Had a lovely experience on the Qibao tour with Alana as our tour guide. She was very patient and helpful and kept coaxing us to try new food. She speaks very good English and was very easy to communicate with.
We a wonderful afternoon with Berlin. She introduced us to delicious and varied Chinese street food, as well as Chinese culture. She was very knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly. We would definitely use her as a guide in the future and highly recommend her!
Berlin was so great showing me around. She was informative telling me about the history, culture, food, traditions, etc, etc. I learned so much. She was very comfortable to talk with and made me feel like a friend. I could tell her interest was genuine and she cares very much that I had a good time
Queena took me on a fantastic tour of the ancient town which was much more than just about food. She was an excellent tour guide and explained a great deal about Chinese traditions and culture. Highly recommended.

Great tour. Our tour guide, Queena, met us at People's Park @10:30AM. We informed her that we had to get back to our hotel by 3PM because we had to check out. She never rushed us and answered all our questions. This was our 10th and last day in China and we pretty much tasted all the street food that we wanted. She asked us what we were interested to have for lunch and promptly took us to the best place for bao and organ soup in Qibao. My wife and I learned a lot and we really enjoyed this tour. Thank you Queena...

I've come to love food tours when I get to a new town, and this was no exception. I seek them out in neighborhoods I wouldn't ordinarily find my self in, and Qibao was a great choice. First, it was the most extraordinary food market scene I've been to, and we taste our way through it. I've been all over Asia, and the specialties that were here were unique. Our guide did a fantastic job of steering us toward both the iconic and the little known treasures of that street. We then walked around the stunning Temple with a 7-floor tower, and ended up having traditional afternoon tea and snacks on the water front. Our guide was knowledgeable and just a delight to spend the day with. She even gave us some excellent suggestions for things to do on our own in Shanghai for our remaining days in town. I highly recommend this tour, as well as the tour company Amazing Shanghai in general. They specialize in 'unusual, local experiences' which is definitely my favorite way to learn about a new place.
Alana was my guide and she was amazing. We tried all kinds of food, and it was all terrific. After the waterfront, we went to a Buddhist Temple, which was really impressive. Lastly, we stopped at a cafe for tea and it had a live performance going on with some really great music. Alana was very informative and a great conversationalist. Highly recommended!
As November is off season I was the only one who booked this tour so I had a private tour with my guide Queena. On a Sunday afternoon Qibao is quite busy, but it is a nice place easy to reach with subway. I had tried plenty of food which I would hesitate to try by my own. There is as well a nice shopping center at Qibao metro station in case you want to stay afterwards and do shopping. I booked as well the 1 hour food massage which is downtown on Nanjing road. It takes a while to go there but after all the long walk it was very relaxing and a new experience for me. I enjoyed the trip and Queena was great guide who gave me some new insights.

Great tour. Our tour guide was really nice and knowledgable. A lot of food to eat !!! Great day at Qibao.

Had a great time with Alana on the 3 hour food tour of neighboring Qibao. Alana is a great guide - incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and speaks great English. She's super open to showing you around the market and letting you decide what foods to taste and where to go. She answered all of our questions and did so in a friendly matter. This is a great day trip to go to a neighborhood of Shanghai away from the high rises in downtown. A must if you are in the area!
The tour exceed our expectations and was a great experience. We were able to learn about the unique foods available in Shanghai and Qibao and had the opportunity to try multiple different types of food. The tour was customized to the types of food and flavors that we we wanted to try. Alana was a great tour guide and provided a lot of information both about the food, Qibao, and the area. She had a great up beat attitude that made it a pleasure to spend the afternoon with her. We really appreciate the great food, fun experience, and useful information that Alana's tour provided.

Alana our guide was fantastic, it became a very rainy day and she even bought us umbrellas from a shop! It was very interesting and informative. Alana also organised a special car for us to go back to our hotel as the weather was so bad.

We had a really good time, despite the rain. The food was amazing, and our guide gave us much needed explanations for the food we had and the places we visited. She took good care of us when the rain started!
Vicky was a fantastic host - she looked after the logistics from the train tickets to exactly what food we should try. It's not very often you get to eat at a 1000-year-old dumpling house! It's an easy 45min train ride. The water village is clearly the place to be for the locals, try as much of the food as you can! There is also plenty of shopping opportunities. Can't recommend more!

This was an excellent tour and I'd do it again if I had the chance. Our small group was the right size to visit many shops and eat like the locals do. Our guide Vicky has an excellent command of English and a lovely personality so communication was easy. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed our tour of Qibao and had some amazing food! Our guide Alana was lovely and answered all of our questions about food and the chinese culture!
I would highly recommend this tour, we had a great day!

An unforgettable Shanghai day tour and foodie tour with nice and warmth tour guide along. Highly recommended if you wish for a friendly tour guide with a good explanation on all the location that she bring me along...you will not regret it!

Great tour that takes you not only on a subway experience out to Quibao, a small city on the dge of greater Shanghai but the two ladies who conduct the tour, Vicky and Alana are wonderful, fun and speak excellent English. They will take you to different small eating establishments were you could and would never dare enter on your own, for lack of command of the Chinese language. it is all Chinese here, not geared to foreign tourists, not yet!!! A delightful couple hours in good company!!

Great tour! The tour guide Alana was supportive and accommodating on the foods to try. Seeing the town and the temple nearby was an added bonus. I would highly recommend this tour, and eating no breakfast if youre doing the morning tour.

This tour was very interesting and we ate delicious food.
Our guides, Alana and Vicky were so professional and knowledgeable.
We were picked up from our hotel and driven in very bad traffic to Quibao. VIcky was an excellent driver and negotiated the traffic very well. I was with my mother and Aunt and both Alana and NIcky were so kind and aware when they needed a rest or wanted to spend more time looking at something.

We ate soup dumplings, spicy tofu, red bean sweet cakes, tarot fried cakes, glutinous rice ball soup, spicy small potatoes and finished up in a very picturesque tea house for tea.
I would highly recommend this tour. Come hungry!

Berlin is a very nice and informative travel guide. We had spent a great afternoon in Qibao, with very delicious food and great conversations. I can only recommend the tour, especially the 1h. Foot massage, was wonderful!
