The hotel is slightly dated but still looks beautiful, elegant and clean. The staff is the reason to stay here. All the people that I met were very kind and highly capable. Jessica in the Italian restaurant and breakfast and Yana at the concierge reception were above anything that I have experienced in a hotel before and I travel for a living. The staff is just special even for a Ritz Carlton with high standards. I have badallergies and needed to change a room. Everyone made sure that I was comfortable in the new room, it really made me feel special. Ha! After all that I forgot to mention the view! Amazing and from the rooftop bar...unreal.

Two years ago, my wife and I stayed at The Ritz-Carlton in Shanghai, and we had such wonderful memories of our visit that we decided to return this time with both of our parents. Although we were only able to stay for one night, it was more than enough to experience the luxury and elegance of Shanghai once again. What made our stay especially memorable was the wonderful hospitality of superviosr Jack qiang, who welcomed us at the front desk with such a warm smile and kindness. After noticing my birthday on my passport, Jack arranged a birthday cake and a thoughtful handwritten letter in our room. It was such an unexpected and touching surprise. I also had a bottle of beer from the minibar, and Jack even offered to personally take care of the charge for me. It was such a generous gesture and made me feel genuinely cared for as a guest. Thank you for giving my family and me such an unforgettable experience. These thoughtful details are what turn a great hotel stay into a truly special memory. If you are visiting Shanghai, I highly recommend staying at The Ritz-Carlton. The breakfast is excellent, every detail of the furniture and facilities feels refined and luxurious, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. We will definitely remember this stay for a long time and hope to return again in the future.
Fantastic hotel. Club lounge is really worth it. The hospitality and huge selection of food in a quiet environment with great service are a real value added to any trip. The pool is a nice length for laps. The gym is not big, but it's well organized. I hope they bring back the straight and EZ Curl barbells that were available last time I visited (not currently available as of the writing of this review). Very helpful staff. The Michelin Star Restaurant is also exceptional.
I recently stayed at The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai with my wife and our 2-year-old daughter for seven nights in a one-bedroom suite overlooking the iconic Pearl Tower. What can I say? Words can’t express how grateful I am that we chose this hotel for our stay. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations, and by the end of our trip, I genuinely didn’t want to leave. The staff were exceptional—friendly, professional, and spoke excellent English. They catered to every one of our needs and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. As a wonderful gesture, they even offered us a complimentary late checkout until 3:00 pm on the day of our flight, which made travelling with a young child so much easier. The buffet breakfast was sensational, and the Club Lounge was equally impressive. The fresh oysters were outstanding, and the truffle cheese bread was simply out of this world. The location couldn’t be better, with everything you need close by. The only downside to Shanghai was the unforgiving summer heat—but that’s hardly the hotel’s fault. Anyone who rates this hotel anything less than five stars must be incredibly hard to please. This was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had, and we can’t wait to return.
Simply awesome hotel. We came as family. Hotel is in WTC @ building with a devoted hotel entrance for hotel guests. The reception is on 52nd floor. Check in was simple, smooth with perfect English and we appreciate getting two interconnecting rooms. Ashin from concierge was great help as well and explained everything with patience. Our room was on 48th floor with Bund view and was/is worth every euro. Stunning view from stunning hotel. Rooms are top notch with very good beds, The bath is huge with Bund view...must try :) We did not have breakfast but opted for club room which means small bites in club lounge and I admit I think this is best club lounge withing RC network. Delicious breakfast and dinner and again view view view. Please send our love to Iris from club lounge and tell her not to be nervous. Everything takes time. Lastly we tried the Flair rooftop bar which is actually the highest open rooftop bar in mainland China and definitely worth a drink or two. We recommend "Off the map" drink.
