The hotel has a more traditional style compared to newer modern hotels, but it is clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The space of room is limited. The staff were helpful and even assisted with carrying our luggage to the room, which was greatly appreciated. Breakfast was decent, although the selection was somewhat limited and average. One thing to note is that the highest floor can only be accessed via a short staircase after taking the lift, but it is still manageable with luggage. The biggest advantage is the location, it is located right in the heart of Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, making it extremely convenient for shopping, dining, and sightseeing.
Stay 4 nights . Awesome experience. Room size spacious and clean. Front desk was friendly. Special like to mention Alex Zhang Cun(张仔）he service and attitude was awesome. He rendered his help on my air line check in and seat reservation issue was so patient, and attentive. His working attitude very sunshine, makes your day great. Will stay this hotel when back Shanghai. Thank you Alex
We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights.
Pros: very good location, you are walking distance from the Bund and nanjin road. Free washing machines. The bed was comfortable and there was a massage chair in the room. Free coke and sprite in the fridge.
Cons: WiFi is Super slow! We were on the 7th floor, which meant we had to take the lift to 6th floor and then carry the luggage up the stairs. The view was nothing great. The breakfast had some variety but it was limited and not tasty. It was also extremely busy, we had to sit with another couple because of the lack of tables. There is no auto close for the door and no safety deposit box.
Overall an ok hotel in a good location. If you are on a budget, it’s good.

Hotel staff is nice and able to communicate in English. Room size is fine. Room is clean and tidy. View from my room is not nice, see the abandoned building next to the hotel. So i never opened sheer curtain during the stay. The room is a bit too dark for me.
Only one thing that is the walk way to my room from the elevators are super far with a floor rug, luggage and slope hallway
Great Location & Comfortable Stay @Historic Hotel
Yitel Premium Hotel has an amazing central location, perfect for exploring Shanghai’s attractions. It’s right beside Nanjing Road Walking Street, with plenty of food, shopping, and activity until 10 PM. Metro stations, taxis/Didi, and the hop-on-hop-off bus stop are all very convenient.
The hotel is in a beautiful 1920s heritage building, nicely renovated with modern rooms. Soundproofing could be better, as door slamming from nearby rooms was noticeable. I stayed in room 8707, an executive room with a massage chair, located behind and actually on level 7, not 8. Those needing walking assistance should request rooms near the lift lobby to avoid stairs.
Rooms were clean, well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and cheerful. My only issue was the air duct, as smoke smell came into our room overnight and was fixed the next day.
Overall, a comfortable stay with great service and an unbeatable location in the heart of Shanghai.
