Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was disappointing. None of the staff, including those at the front desk, were able to communicate in English. The room service was overpriced and did not justify the quality of the food. Moreover, the hotel's location was highly inconvenient, as there were no convenience stores, restaurants, shopping centers, or any other facilities nearby. And wifi wss too slow...

There is some construction going on nearby, so there might be a bit of noise, though we barely heard much. However, the view wasn't particularly great because of it. The room was spacious. The pool and gym are connected by a large floor-to-ceiling glass wall. The hotel sells various souvenirs on the lobby. There is an indoor playground where parents must stay with their children. It’s perfect for small kids. The food was a highlight. The lounge dishes were delicious, with the menu changing, and the staff there were incredibly kind and helpful. The breakfast felt like the main attraction, featuring a noodle station and massive steamers serving three different types of dumplings. The Xiao Long Bao was especially popular. I also loved the cute map of the hotel's surroundings placed at each table. They provided paper cups so we could take hot tea to go, which was so thoughtful and perfect for the cold in the morning. During our stay, we visited Xinchang Ancient Town and the Shanghai Wild Animal Park. Those places are very close to this hotel. It was the perfect spot to wrap up our journey before heading to Pudong Airport.
Staff were attentive, assisted with luggage ( some other more expensive hotels in the Marriott group could take a leaf from their book). Concierge desk was very helpful with parcels I had delivered to the hotel. Executive lounge was both well stocked and staffed during "Happy hour". Room was clean and well presented. The location was good for both a visit to Disney ( free shuttle bus provided) and a taxi to Pudong airport the following day when we left China was not too far, so not too early a start for an 8:00am check in. Only negative was the distance from a Metro station. I try to offset my flight by using public transport where I can, but at over 4km from the nearest metro I did take a taxi all the way to this hotel.
I can't believe this is considered a Marriott property. The rooms here are of lower quality, more aligned with a four points hotel. The worst part is the service, they don't seem to care about guests and are not willing to help at all. They make so many mistakes for elite members. The staff in the restaurants argue and curse in front of the guest without reservation. The food is terrible pretty much across the board. The facilities are always out of service, no hot tub, no steam room, no sauna, and you are not allowed to swim if you don't wear those China caps. The location is in the middle of nowhere, you will have to take a taxi just to get to the metro station. A very disappointing Marriott Hotel.
We recently stayed there and overall had a pleasant experience. The room was spacious and clean, providing a comfortable environment throughout our stay. The hotel staff, especially Luis and Lucas, were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Luis went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, from helping us download essential apps to recommending great places to visit. He was incredibly patient with all of our requests and really contributed to making our trip memorable. Lucas was also very attentive and supportive. However, our only negative experience was with the lifeguard at the swimming pool, who was unfortunately quite rude, which put a slight damper on our experience. The hotel’s location was convenient for visiting nearby attractions like Disneyland and the Wildlife Zoo, although it’s a bit far from the city center. All in all, we had a good stay and would recommend this hotel, especially if you’re planning to visit the attractions nearby.
