Hotel provided Airport shuttle, Wechat is needed to comunicate with hotel for arrangement. It also provide back and forth transport to Disneyland and ChuanSha metro. The front entrance of the hotel seem like a 1 to 2 star hotel but the room in Block B where we stayed was good, spacious and nice.

THANKS to Air China (CA) — I managed to stay at Rezen Select Hotel 麗呈睿軒酒店 (上海國際旅遊度假區川沙地鐵站店) for my layover in May 2026. Upon landing at PVG, I followed the "Arrival" sign to the immigration hall and proceeded with immigration clearance (*the ground staff may re-direct passengers to the Transit Service counter instead -- skip the line unless you intend to stay at PVG during transit). I went to the Departure Hall (L3), the CA service counter (between Lane H and G) for help to arrange for the complimentary shuttle service to the hotel. I waited for around 15 mins for the pick-up (outside gate no. 29) and the journey took about 20 mins. The hotel seemed to be a popular choice for layover at PVG. Many guests were at the hotel lobby waiting to be checked in even though it was already past the mid night. I overheard that the reception would charge RMB150/pax for a room upgrade (FOC for twin-sharing). Mine was complimentary (arranged by Trip.com, the ticketing agent). The room had a living room attached and was surprisingly spacious for 1N stay. The next day morning, I was lucky enough to experience a power trip after taking a shower but the short delay didn't cause me to miss the breakfast buffet. It was a simple but satisfying meal. On the return leg of my trip, I was checked in to the usual room. The level of cleanliness was reasonable (of a mid-range hotel standard). I managed to check out the larger shopping mall nearby (百聯川沙購物中心). It's located about 1km away and the Didi rides I took cost around RMB15 each. Overall the hotel offers excellent value for money, with reasonably maintained facilities and services (front desk and shuttle). My stay saved me time and efforts, making my travel more convenient.
I booked 3 rooms for 8 nights for my family. Unfortunately, our experience turned into a nightmare. My parents’ first room had a broken air conditioner and was unbearably hot at night, so after I informed the staff, they moved them to another room. That second room then had a serious bug problem, and the bathroom was moldy, so we had to request another room change again. I also showed them photos of the bugs, and when we changed rooms, a staff member even watched me inspect every corner of the new room with my phone flashlight to make sure there were no more bugs. The next day, the AC in my own room also stopped working. Because my parents had already changed rooms twice, I felt bad asking again, so when the staff offered to bring in a fan instead, I agreed. However, after 3 nights of sleeping in extreme heat with a loud fan, we also started noticing bugs in the room. At that point I finally requested a room change, and to their credit, the staff moved us immediately. Throughout the stay, the staff members themselves were kind, polite, and responsive. Since we communicated through a translation app, all conversations were saved, including the messages where I reported the bugs. The worst part happened after I returned to Vietnam. The bugs followed us home and infested my apartment. I had to wash all bedding and clothes, vacuum and clean the entire apartment repeatedly, and I am still finding bugs, including immature ones, meaning they may already have laid eggs. For the past two nights I have barely slept because I constantly feel paranoid and itchy, worried about getting bitten or finding bugs crawling on me. What disappointed me most was not the room issues themselves, but the hotel’s response afterward. When I contacted them after returning home to explain the situation, they denied that I had ever reported bugs during my stay, even though I still have the translation app conversations and time stamped photos as evidence. Instead, they suggested I may have picked them up from a taxi or the airport. That response felt incredibly irresponsible and dishonest toward a guest who trusted them enough to book a long family stay. To be fair, the staff at the hotel were genuinely friendly and tried to solve problems quickly during our stay. This review is not meant to attack them personally. But the management’s refusal to acknowledge the issue afterward completely changed my view of this hotel. Also, one additional note for future guests: I originally booked this hotel because it is next to East Nanjing Road Station, but during most of our stay that station entrance was not operating, possibly due to the holiday period, so our family had to walk more than 1 km every day to People’s Square Station instead. This is not the hotel’s fault, but it is something travelers may want to consider. After a vacation, people should return home feeling refreshed and ready to resume normal life. Instead, I came home to sleepless nights, stress, exhaustion, and the horrible experience of dealing with a bug infestation, only to be met with denial from the hotel.
Transit for missing China Eastern flight. Nice hotel. Good breakfast and dinner. Missed lunch but was given a snack packet, which was much appreciated. Thanks
