Renaissance Shanghai Zhongshan Park

Stay 4 nights.Hotel is old… Shanghai hotel without AI .. bathroom door cant close… Technician is rude when we ask to fixed aircond… Ur souvenirs get missing and even money. 10 years back hotel design with 5 starts. Think it urself. No free self service laundry. Not recommend to stay here.

Stayed in 50+ Marriott locations and all fine. This location has nice employees. Cooling system is pathetic. Its hot and muggy and smelly in the rooms. Hotel mgt said there is one temperature for the entire hotel. That temp is hot and humid. Wont be back. Stay elsewhere.

Very disappointing stay. The elevators were extremely slow, and one evening there was sewage being pumped out in the middle of the lobby, making the entire area smell horrible. We also received a laundry bill of around $200 for only a few items, with no laundry bag or clear pricing provided in the room. The hotel restaurant also closed before its posted hours, forcing us to leave and find somewhere else to eat. Overall, a very poor experience and I would not stay here again.

Overall, we had a good stay. The location is excellent, directly above Zhongshan Park Metro Station and connected to a shopping mall with plenty of affordable dining options and a supermarket. Our family room was spacious and comfortable, with a large bathroom and great amenities. The reception staff spoke English, were very helpful, and kindly stored our luggage before check-in. The main downside was the persistent cigarette smell in our room and occasionally in the hallways. Although the hotel was fully booked and couldn't move us, staff did their best to help by arranging an extra clean. We also found it frustrating that our "Do Not Disturb" sign wasn't always respected by housekeeping. The pool and gym were good, but families should note that access to the pool is through the changing rooms. Overall, the great location, spacious rooms, and friendly staff outweighed the negatives. If the cigarette smell was addressed, I would happily stay here again.
