Unacceptable experience for a hotel claiming to be luxury. I arrived for my stay in the Oriental Pearl View Deluxe King Room, only to be told I couldn't check in for nearly 2 hours. The excuse? They claimed the previous guest had "paid for a late check-out." I understand hotels need to manage inventory, but making a paying guest wait 120 minutes past standard check-in time because you oversold the room or failed to manage housekeeping is not my problem. To make matters worse, this arrangement felt like something you’d expect from a 1-star motel, not a property on the Bund. When you book a premium view room, you expect a premium service standard. Waiting in the lobby for two hours while watching later arrivals get their keys is completely disrespectful of my time. I paid in full for this stay; I should have been given the room I reserved at the promised time. Very disappointing.

Wow. Really amazing - new super contemporary hotel on the Bund. The team here are so lovely. Modern deco with many twists;)! Room - classic on the river outstanding. Service is exceptional. It’s a not a massive hotel so feels very intimate. Pearl on the Bund - with gym pool n sauna. Terrace and restaurant on 5th floor has the most dramatic views of the financial district. Great stay for work trip Will come back for sure ❤️🙏
We stayed at the Regent Shanghai on the Bund Hotel from April 30 to May 1, 2026. We made the reservation through the official website. Since it was our wedding anniversary and our child’s first time staying at a hotel in China, we were a bit worried. However, they offered quick and effective communication. In particular, manager Jane Song promptly addressed our requests even before our arrival, prepared a surprise anniversary event, and soothed our nervous child by giving him a small stuffed dull during check-in. The next morning at breakfast, Evan and Carrie Wang handled our child’s dietary needs with great care. We remember their efforts. The view was also great, and it’s a wonderful place for jogging. I had forgotten to bring sunscreen, so I was impressed to find sunscreen spray available in the lobby. Breakfast offers both a buffet and ordering options, and the Western dishes are of a very high standard. For the ordering menu, I recommend the pasta topped with crab meat.
An absolutely incredible stay at the Regent on the Bund. The location is simply unbeatable—waking up to that direct view over the Bund and Pudong skyline is something truly special. The view alone feels majestic, day and night. The design of the hotel is one of the most beautiful I’ve experienced so far. Everything is elegant, refined, and perfectly thought through to create a continuous feeling of comfort and understated luxury. Nothing feels excessive, yet everything feels premium. The pool is lovely, perfect for a relaxing moment, and the breakfast is outstanding with great quality and variety. Service was absolutely impeccable from start to finish—attentive, warm, and seamless. My only regret is not staying longer. I would come back without hesitation.
The hotel is beautifully situated along the river, offering stunning views of Shanghai’s most iconic landmarks the Oriental Pearl Tower and The Bund. The design reflects modern luxury, with high-quality materials and well-appointed amenities throughout. Service-wise, I couldn’t help but compare it with other Regent properties. While there was absolutely nothing wrong with the service, it didn’t quite deliver the same sense of warmth or that “above and beyond” feeling I’ve experienced elsewhere. The Conde Restaurant & Bar on the 5th floor is a fantastic spot for drinks, boasting spectacular views over Shanghai especially in the evening when the skyline lights up.
