Great views from the Shanghai World Financial Center, but falls way short of Park Hyatt standards. The room is okay, though the bathroom is spacious. The biggest issue: the “blackout” curtains aren't true blackout, so the morning sun completely ruined my sleep. The hotel is also surprisingly stingy. Unlike the Regent or Mumian etc hotels where minibars are free, they charge 45 RMB($6.7) for a single can of Coke here. Plus, if you order delivery, you have to go all the way downstairs to fetch it yourself. Most Chinese hotels deliver them to the room. Service was mediocre. They couldn't even handle a simple request to link my AMEX booking to my Hyatt account at check-in—I had to follow up via email later to get it fixed. Finally, it’s ironic these luxury hotels in Shanghai haven't learned good service but have fully adopted Western tipping culture, asking for tips at the restaurant or spa.

We got the hotel to book our car to the airport and it was a no show! And this was the hotel’s limo service and not a regular taxi! I checked with the staff the day before and they assured me all was fine and my pickup was in order. 2nd bad thing, the bed was the worst we have ever experienced in all our travels. Despite asking for different pillows these did not help at all. We ended up with days of neck and back aches. My colleague too experienced the same issue in their room and complained of aches and poor rest. I didn’t expect this of Park Hyatt, we didn’t rest well, and the limo service made us anxious. I am going back to Marriot!
We had an amazing stay at the Park Hyatt Shanghai. The view from our room was exceptionall and we even received an upgrade ☺️ The breakfast restaurant is lovely with a chique, modern interior. From the bars and Restaurants located in the tower one can view some of Shanghai's most prominent attractions and experience their grandeur with one's own eyes. On rainy, misty days the hotel offers a calm and relaxing retreat with nebula playing in front of the tower's windows. I would recommend a stay at this hotel. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful ☺️
This was our second stay at Park Hyatt Shanghai this year, and it reminded us again how much we appreciate this property. We have been long-time Hyatt Globalists and have stayed at many Park Hyatt hotels around the world, and this one is truly underrated. The location is excellent, and the views are spectacular, especially the grand view of the Lujiazui “three-piece set.” The hotel has the consistent understated elegance and design that we always associate with Park Hyatt. The breakfast venue is another highlight, with both beautiful views and very high-quality food. Although the hotel is not new, it is very well maintained and continues to feel refined and comfortable. In our view, given the location, views, and level of service, this property feels undervalued as a Category 5 and could easily justify a Category 7.
Pretty good hotel, but there is a considerable amount of drawbacks. Highly recommend for Business travelers, but for any other traveler, there are other options. Location Pudong is a BUSINESS district. I can't emphasize this enough. If you are a tourist, I'd recommend Xintiandi (French Concession) or the Bund. That being said, the hotel is in close proximity to many malls and dining options, so it's not isolated at all. Many tourists who choose to stay here do so for the novelty and the hotel's jaw-dropping views. Rooms - The rooms were excellent in size and furnishing, but they really lacked character. - This represents the hotel; Very elegant but feeling too cookie cutter, especially in a city like Shanghai which has so much culture. - The rooms all feature excellent views, but the views are limited on cloudy/rainy days. Service - All the staff were professional and eager to help which is fantastic. - The limit, however, was that it was tough to communicate with staff, but most staff used a translation app and that resolved most issues. - Great Globalist recognition - One thing they could do to improve is to make calling Didi's easier or helping guests call them. Amenities - The WiFi was far below standards. I know that there isn't a ton that the hotel can do about certain sites blocked by the government, however the internet was abysmal. There are other hotels in Shanghai like the Peninsula and Langham which have far superior WiFi (And built in VPNs). This is a business hotel and one of the best in Shanghai so it was really disappointing to see the WiFi was nonfunctional. I wouldn't rely on getting a lot done at the hotel for work considering the WiFi - The hotel has an incredible pool and sauna. You really can't match these facilities at a city hotel and it was amazing. They also have a great fitness center. Food - Breakfast was great, tons of variety and options, especially for vegetarians. The Miso soup was a highlight.
