Fantastic location however the room is poorly managed, you will most likely find the mosquito as company during your stay which happened to me consecutively on both nights I stayed here. It's a pity such an iconic building were managed as if it's a salesman hostel. FO is not really friendly and when asked they behave like someone is going to scam them😕😕😕.... It could have been another "Peace Hotel" FAIRMONT standard of hotel, what makes the difference is the management company behind it perhaps? Way to go....

This is a five-star hotel, located on walking distance from The Bund. The check-in went smoothly and the rooms were spacious and clean! If you have any questions the staff from the reception were helpfull. I can recommend this hotel if you want to stay closeby The Bund. Next to this, there is a family market on walking distance, aswell a 7-Eleven. We planned to stay here for 1-day, but extended our stay with 2 more days. Follow me on TikTok @WannInAsia
We stayed here a couple years back and LOVED IT! Great rooms at an incredible price. You get MORE than what you pay for here! They cater to tourist guests and will spoil you. ATTENTIVE and FRIENDLY staff! More English speakers on staff than a lot of what we found before we made it to the Metropole. The breakfast is top shelf! International breakfast items and an espresso machine in the dining room. FRESH fruits and coffee. The location is great, off any main roads but a 5 minute walk to the river in one direction and less than 10 minutes to world class shopping. Local eateries galore! There is a noodle shop around the corner that knew us by name by the time we had to head back to the States. Can't wait to get back! HIGHLY Recommend!!!
Nice hotel in the city center. Elegant and equipped with all the amenities. Very good the nespresso machine in the room. Only negative, if you watch tv, there are no English speaking channels. There is a good Fitness center. Price slightly over the average, but in line with West standard, so acceptable.
Great location, not too hard on the wallet as well. Moderately high tech with autosensing night lights, great iPhone friendly music system and a very advanced commode(!) The breakfast was also satisfactory with an equal mix of Chinese as well as western dishes, though I would have appreciated a larger variety of dishes. Very thoughtful of the hotel staff to notice I don’t use so many pillows on the bed after the first night so they cleared off the extra pillows to the left of the room and kept a single pillow for me to use starting the second night. Kudos 👌🏼 All the electric sockets are fitted with universal adapters so very tourist friendly. Only drawback was they do no the air conditioning to cool, only to heat during this time of the year. Doesn’t matter much since outside it was around 12’C. Turns out the Building was an heritage architecture also which I didn’t know before! Would highly recommend just for the location 👍🏼👍🏼
