This hotel currently has 24/7 on-going construction site right in front. Noise level is unbearable and full of dust. Front desk run out of room card and only provide 1 card per room.

Unsure why this place has such a high rating, probably due to the lack of reviews. It is in quite a nice location for walking as it's very close to the metro station but can be a bit of a hassle to call a taxi as some of the roads are pedestrian access only. The rooms were very very spacious however they seem to be quite bare as well, just a lot of empty space with no furnishing to fill up the space. The photos look a lot better than the actual room itself. It does seem renovated somewhat recently though so there isn't any inherent problem with the room itself. When I went there was construction going on and every morning we would get woken up by it but the hotel did provide us earplugs on our nightstand so it was tolerable with that. I would check if they have construction going on at the time of your booking, if I had known I would not have booked in the first place but that was on my due to my of research and not the hotel. Reception people were kind but their English was not too good. They helped with my luggage and when I kept taking the candy at the front desk one by one they offered me to take some more. Also received my Taobao packages for me. The lobby was quite small and there would only be 1-2 staff at one time. It's decent value but by no means would I call it a luxurious experience. Please check if there is still ongoing construction nearby and if you are okay with that. I was inclined to leave a 3 star review to balance out the slightly inflated review of 4.5 but realistically the hotel is a 4.1 quality but leaving a 3 star review would be a bit too low. Could probably find a better hotel for similar price.
We stayed five nights in a deluxe king room. We enjoyed everything about it - room size, nice bathroom, free beverages, comfortable bed, clean. And the hotel was in an excellent location with so many good food. So fortunate to have been able to stay here. This was our fave hotel out of the four hotels we stayed at during our two week trip to China.
Found this Heritage Architecture hotel amazing. Easy check in with welcoming and friendly staffs. Spacious room with comfortable bed. Pleasantly surprised by the room amenities - auto bidet toilet, effiicient heater, superfast usb c outlet and good bedding and pillow. Cleanliness is also upkept well. The subway is just a stone throw away.
Despite requesting a room with windows at the time of booking (although I recognize that this is subject to availability), the windowless room I was assigned to was uninhabitable, particularly with the colder turn of the weather. While there is a control panel for the air-conditioning, you cannot actually change the functions, only the temperature and strength of the fan. The first night, the air-conditioning would periodically blow gusts of cold air, before stopping, and this repeated throughout the night. Noise aside, the temperature was so inconsistent throughout the night and woke me up multiple times, severely disrupting my rest. When I’d contacted the front desk, I was told that they’d turned the cooling function on as “most of the guests on the floor were foreigners and preferred this”, which did not address the issue at all. They then offered me an extra blanket and had a cleaning lady adjust the temperature (which doesn’t affect the function or inconsistency). The second night was MUCH worse. They’d decided that as the weather outside had gotten colder, we were due a baking. The heater was turned on and with no windows or other form of ventilation, I was rudely awakened in the middle of the night sweating and struggling to breathe! The staff I spoke to at 2+am could provide nothing but empty apologies; one of them said they could try to change my room the following night but that it would not affect the issues with the air-conditioning. I had to walk outside the hotel to BREATHE. The next day, they agreed to change my room for my final night to one with a window and I was told it would be ready around 11am. Exhausted after a serious lack of sleep, I went out for a breather and returned around 11.45am, hoping to take a nap. I was instead told that they’d need at least 30min more to prepare the room. Furthermore, when I’d asked the staff if they’d be open to providing some form of compensation after ruining my rest two nights in a row (and mind you, the rooms are NOT cheap), they told me a manager would be contacted and I’d be updated when they changed my room. I have since checked out, with no such updates or mentions of any compensation whatsoever. I only received awkward staring from some of a female staff member at the counter. TLDR; it is such a waste, seeing as the rooms were quite beautiful and the location was excellent, but the service was simply abysmal and the ventilation facilities severely lacking. An all-around disappointing experience. I’d have loved to return for the environment, but unless the issues get addressed, it might be best to stay away.
