I had a wonderful day at the hotel, which is located within the Jing'an Kerry Centre complex. I stayed in a corner room that offered a fantastic view, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides of the bedroom and another floor-to-ceiling window behind the bathtub. The location is excellent—just a five-minute walk from Exit 10 of Jing'an Temple Station—with a wide range of dining and shopping options nearby. However, there are a few downsides to consider: the facilities are not particularly modern; the TV offers only cable channels, so you cannot watch YouTube or Netflix; and the toilets are not the "smart" type. Despite being on the 43rd floor, the room was still disturbed at night by traffic noise from the nearby elevated highway.

Great location, great service, but starting to show its age. Stayed here for 4 nights back in September. Starting with the highlights: The location in Jing An is excellent. The hotel is directly connected to the Jing An Kerry Centre, and there's a ton of shopping, dining, and sightseeing within walking distance (Jing'an Temple is only a few minutes away on foot). The metro station is also very close, which makes it easy to get around the rest of the city. Service was great across the board. Everyone working there was very nice, courteous, and helpful. The room was very spacious and still felt luxurious, even though it's a bit outdated. Now to the not-so-great: Breakfast at Café Liang on the ground floor was subpar (so-so quality and limited variety) and very crowded. Presumably this is also because the hotel sells monthly and annual meal plans to non-hotel guests who eat there too. Breakfast and afternoon tea at the Horizon Club Lounge on the 55th floor, however, were great. There was surprisingly more variety than at the buffet downstairs, plenty of à la carte options to choose from, and it was much less crowded. If you're staying here, I'd strongly recommend booking a Horizon Club room - it makes a big difference. All in all, the Jing An Shangri-La feels like it used to be a grand luxury hotel, but now it looks and feels a bit outdated - especially when compared to many of the newer hotels in Shanghai. It opened back in 2013 and you can tell. Would I stay here again? Possibly, if the hotel goes through a remodeling
Premium location & excellent service. The room cleaning staff is very friendly and did their job excellent. Very close to malls & metro. Well done, Jing’an team.
Service Culture on a next level! Nice location, nice hotel (even a little bit outdated in some details). Very nice rooms (even a capsule coffee machine missing). Absolutely leading breakfast restaurant. But what stroke me most, was the customer oriented service culture. I had a medical emergency on arrival. Needed a prompt doctors visit. One hotel service manager did all calls immediately for me. He arranged an emergency visit, made clear that I will be guided by a personal assistant through the surgeries, and as I was not carrying any cash, he ordered an Uber for me and payed it upfront from his own pocket! I could pay him back easily next day, he mentioned. Thanks Mr. ALAN DONG! You deserved to be the „employee of the year“! I will always pick that place, if back in town!
I recently stayed at the Jing A Shangri-La for a few nights while exploring Shanghai, and it was the perfect place to unwind after a busy day in the city. The hotel’s location is fantastic; it is well-connected to various Metro lines, and many major attractions are within easy walking distance. The room itself was well-appointed and luxurious, offering everything you would expect from a five-star establishment. The bathroom was fabulous, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. During my stay, I made use of the some of their facilities, including the well-equipped gym and room service. I was particularly impressed by the room service. The food was delivered quickly and was of a very high quality. I opted for breakfast during our stay, which was excellent. The selection was vast, featuring a wide array of hot dishes alongside a spectacular range of breads and pastries. While the breakfast room can get quite busy, we found that arriving slightly later in the morning offered a more peaceful experience. The staff members we encountered were consistently friendly and happy to help. Although our Chinese was very limited, the team was always accommodating - notably, the receptionist we spoke with had excellent English. Overall, the time spent at I a at the Jing An Shangri-La . With its beautiful rooms, superb facilities, and convenient location, the Jing A Shangri-La is a fantastic choice for anyone visiting Shanghai.
