The problems with this hotel started as early as the booking stage. I booked a refundable room with breakfast included. However, as I later discovered, the voucher I received showed the room as non-refundable and with breakfast for only one person. I have no idea who was ultimately responsible for this mistake — Ozon or the hotel/the intermediary. After lengthy discussions with Ozon, they agreed to pay for the second breakfast. However, I completely lost one day of my booking because I arrived in Shanghai one day later. This was precisely why I had specifically chosen a refundable rate, as I knew that my travel dates might change. Ozon told me that they would notify the hotel about my late arrival. However, when I arrived at the hotel, the staff could not find my reservation because I was checking in one day later, and they almost cancelled the booking, claiming that they had not been notified. This was despite the fact that, in addition to contacting Ozon, I personally wrote to the hotel several times regarding the possibility of changing the reservation dates, the booking error (with screenshots attached), and my late arrival. The hotel simply does not read or respond to messages. As for the room itself, it was generally fine, although somewhat worn and the air conditioning was rather noisy. Overall, however, the rooms are quiet, the bed is comfortable, and there was a nice city view from the 12th floor. The breakfast was also quite good. There was a decent selection of both Chinese and European food. The most interesting situation started when we ordered laundry service. Before staying at this hotel, we had travelled around China, and laundry service had been free at all the other hotels we stayed at. Here, however, it was a paid service, with the prices listed on a form. I filled out the form and indicated the amount I had calculated. As it turned out, my calculation was incorrect because the prices were actually per individual item, although this was not stated anywhere on the form. Instead of approximately 200 RMB, the final bill came to 1,200 RMB. What did the hotel do? They simply crossed out the amount I had written on the form without contacting me or informing me in any way, and then demanded payment of 1,200 RMB. Great service, right? I would also like to specifically highlight the way the manager spoke to me — his behavior was completely inappropriate, with a mocking and sarcastic tone. Overall, I do not intend to let the hotel's behaviour go unchallenged, and I am planning to file a lawsuit. At this point, I am also beginning to doubt whether the error in the booking voucher was actually Ozon's fault. It is quite possible that this hotel has a practice of deliberately handling bookings in this way.

This hotel maximum deserves 3 stars. I regret booking 10 days for the money I could have stayed at a better place. The room smelled. The shower drain was clogged. The AC had no cold air and the fan was broken. We changed to another room and the same things happened. I was so surprised to witness the dirty carpets in the rooms and on the hallways. The daily cleaning only took place about 15 minutes. The black and yellow marks around the tub. Oh my god. I’ll never book this hotel again. However the location is good and convenient to get food around the corner.
My stay at Jin Jiang Tower Hotel was a truly first-class experience, with outstanding service that extended well beyond my checkout date. A special commendation goes to Mr. Vanness Ke, who went above and beyond his duties by personally ensuring that my cardholder was mailed to me following my checkout — a gesture that exemplified the hotel’s commitment to exceptional service. His efforts to communicate effectively in English during our call was also greatly appreciated and made a significant difference. The rooms were maintained to an impeccably high standard of cleanliness, and the breakfast was equally impressive. The entire staff demonstrated genuine warmth and professionalism throughout my stay, collectively contributing to an unforgettable experience. Having stayed at three hotels across China over two weeks, Jin Jiang Hotel was undoubtedly the finest. I would highly recommend it to any traveler seeking exceptional hospitality in Shanghai.
Relax and quiet place to stay. I heard something bad about house keeping like someone’s luggage were tried to open and someone’s money from wallet lost… Management should act seriously about these things. Breakfast was very good and location of the hotel is perfect. I recommend this hotel but consider do not let house keeping clean your room when you have something special in the room.
Lovely spacious rooms with everything you could want in amenities, except a caution that the AC was centrally controlled at 24-25 degrees Celsius during my stay in April. You can ask the staff to unlock your window, and I slept with mine open which made it tolerable at night. Breakfast buffet was stellar, with tons of variety and open til 10am. Neighborhood was very walkable to get to restaurants, parks, and metro.
