Great breakfast. Modern. Clean rooms. Central location. Good globalist World of Hyatt perks, received room upgrade. Unsure why rated so poorly. Only downside is the gym is definitely in need of an upgrade. For what you pay, great value for money.

5 stars on all counts - room quality and cleanliness is superb, the view towards the park is incredible! Outdoor swimming pool is really nice, although it may close if the weather is not good. Breakfast has a very nice variety of local specialties, which is a nice change from the usuals like scramble eggs and bacon. With that said, the area around the hotel is loaded with good local restaurants and nice cafes along Yuyuan Road, so perhaps it is not necessary to book breakfast if you want to explore local foods for breakfast. 5 minutes walk from Metro Line 2 Zhongshan Park Station, bus 20 can also go to many main spots in Shanghai such as Jinganji Temple, Nanjing Road Walking Street and the Bund. Didi car hire can stop right outside the hotel.
Hotel location was great for me. Guest room was spacious and comfortable, beds gave me a good sleep, but I don’t like the pillows they provided. Water pressure was ok , needs a little while to wait for hot water. Staffs were good.
Located right across from Zhongshan Park. The walk from the MTR station is about a 7-minute walk. The closest exit with an elevator is connected to the mall so the elevator is only in service during the malls’ operating hours. Getting from the elevator to the hotel was not straightforward; there needs to be better signage to direct guests to the hotel. Rooms were quite spacious, but the twin beds cannot be connected together. Also, there are two layouts for the 2 Twin Beds room with one having a significantly larger bathroom than the other. Unfortunately some rooms had the smell of cigarettes. Jonathan Zhang at the Front Desk was really patient and accommodating when I requested for a room with a larger bathroom. Housekeeping staff were nice and super efficient.
Solid Stay with Great Walkability (Good for Small Families) The Hyatt Centric Zhongshan Park Shanghai is a very decent option, especially if you value neighborhood convenience over being right next to the major tourist hubs. Rooms & Space The rooms were decent and reasonably spacious. They can comfortably fit a couple and a kid, leaving plenty of room to have your luggage completely spread out without feeling cramped. Cleanliness This is one area that could be better. I have a habit of going over high-touch areas—like the bathrooms, door handles, and bed areas—with Clorox wipes when I check in, and it was clear that some spots definitely need a little more TLC from the housekeeping staff. Dining The morning breakfast area was a bit smaller than expected. However, the food spread itself had just enough variety to keep everyone happy and start the day off right. Service The hospitality was lovely, and the staff provided kind and attentive service throughout our stay. Location The location is great! It is an extremely walkable neighborhood with plenty of food options right outside the hotel doors. While it is admittedly a bit far from the main city attractions, we didn't really mind because there was already so much to eat, see, and do right around the hotel. The Verdict: A great, highly walkable neighborhood spot with decent rooms and kind service, though the housekeeping detail could use a slight step up.
