Large room very modern but not everything works! This is the 4th hotel here in China and the breakfast is by far the worst. The others had loads more to choose from including many Chinese choices all of which varied each day. This one is exactly the same every day and very limited to mostly European food. The station for limited Chinese food was not even available until 1 - 2 hours after opening! Some other Chinese options have to be ordered. If you want anything other than eggs over easy, you have to order them! Also have to order if you want a waffle but when I did i was told not available! This hotel is around a 15 - 20 minute walk to the metro station so not very convenient. There are so many hotels in Shanghai so I would not recommend this one.

What can i tell: i spend one night in room with river view- this night was very good. The room was big and clean. Then i returned for two more nights. I took regular room and it was disaster- there was odor in the room. I spoke with reception and they changed to another room immediately, but the same odor was in the new room too. Probably it was a wood dresser smell. Very old and the bottom was destroyed from water. Some spots on the floor can also give the odor. So, not to take the regular ones. But location is good and so breakfast.
I had a magnificent stay at Hotel Indigo Shanghai on the Bund and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai. If possible, book one of the river-view rooms—the views over the Huangpu River and the Pudong skyline are simply breathtaking, especially at night. The rooms are extremely comfortable, spacious, and very well insulated from outside noise, ensuring a peaceful and restful stay despite the lively surroundings. The hotel facilities are also excellent, with a well-equipped gym, a beautiful indoor swimming pool, and a spectacular rooftop bar offering some of the best views in the city. The location couldn't be better. Situated right on the Bund, you can easily explore Shanghai on foot while being close to many of the city's main attractions, restaurants, and shopping areas. An outstanding experience from start to finish. I would definitely stay here again!
The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and the staff are incredibly attentive. It is older, but very well kept property. Make sure to visit the rooftop bar, the views of the river and skyline are stunning, walking along the Bund is an amazing experience as well. It's just a short walk to the river cruise pier, and major attractions like Nanjing Road, Yu Garden and Yuyuan Old Street) are within 15–20 minutes walking. The only downside is that it isn’t very close to a metro station, so using ride-hailing apps like Didi or AMap (Gaode) is definitely the best way to get around. Would definitely stay here again!
#Shanghai #China Hotel Indigo Shanghai on the Bund Check-in was easy and painless. Upon entering this boutique hotel, the lobby was very unique. Lots of Chinese artifacts paintings and small sculptures are darn a walkway towards the elevators. Upon enter in the room, there was a nice comfortable king-size bed that had fresh smelling linen with king size pillows. The closet was very roomy with lots of storage space and cubbyholes to store your belongings. The bathroom is very roomy with modern adornments. The shower is huge easily fits my 6’3” frame. My wife loved the toilet with the motion sensor seat that raised as she approached the toilet. There’s an array of buttons on the side wall by the toilet, which controls the toilet seat and the bidet. After taking a shower for the first time, the floor got very wet because there was a missing gasket on the shower door and the rainfall showerhead was not working properly. The next day we saw the housekeeper with a maintenance man and we mentioned the problems and they immediately took care of all the issues and we had no problems the next day. The AC unit seems to be running a little bit warm even though I have the temperature set at a comfortable 22°C. The room darkness was excellent. The room was 99% dark which allowed us to sleep very soundly . The room had a big screen TV, a Bose radio and a JBL clock with 2 USB-A ports. The Wi-Fi seems very sluggish and at times it didn’t seem to work at all. We will talk to the front desk. There are snacks and wine available for purchase and complementary water, tea and coffee. The best thing about this room is the amazing view across the Bund. The view is spectacular. Also the decor of the room is exquisite. No cookie cutter layout. The night stands are different the lamps the couch all unique. The hotel is within walking distance to many local restaurants and businesses. One being the local ferry and local tour boats. 2026-02-24
