Stayed with family for 2 nites to go to Putuoshan. Newish hotel (as in probably built within last 10 yrs). Try to choose room with sea view. Zhoushan is small so not much near new hotel zone. Need to Didi everywhere which is cheap by western standard anyway. If ur Chinese is limited & want convenience, maybe try a hotel closer to "town centre". Hilton area is peaceful & quiet & new hotel zone. Didi to Putuoshan pier also only a short ride. Customer service not quite up to Ningbo cousin standard but I'm just being picky. Breakfast buffet also not top notch but "just" meet Hilton intl standard.
Absolutely manion of a room. Clean and serviced nicely. Breakfast very good.. As so often in China personbel do not speak even hekpfull English.
Although I was there for only one night, I enjoyed my recent stay at the Hilton Zhoushan. Comfortable room with good WiFi. Gym has a reasonable selection of cardio and resistance machines. Free weights (dumbbells) max out at 50 lbs. Had fried rice, vegetable rolls, and fresh fruit for lunch. Nicely prepared with attentive service provided by Chris Zang.
We had an excellent experience here as a 10th wedding anniversary getaway from Shanghai. The club lounge was accurately managed and the corner suite upgrade we received was amazing. Poor service at breakfast, but probably due to the local staff they are drawing from. It's a remote area and most people were quite young. After being an employer in China for over a decade, I know that new employees are often useless and unmotivated, so I was happy to see the management running staff drills and educating on the job while I was walking around the property. The hotel is directly on the ocean, and has about 50 fresh seafood stalls along the promenade you can go for dinner, or a small shopping arcade behind with an excellent Japanese restaurant and a theatre with first run films. Breakfast had many choices in the main buffet. The club lounge had a nice vibe, with a rotating selection of hot food and cold drinks. I noted quite a few Americans in the lounge every night, and spoke to some who said they live in the hotel often when on assignment from major USA firms that are involved in the region. Behind the hotel is a lagoon with some restaurants, bars and cafes along the water. Not fully developed yet, but I can see that the government is working hard to make this a travel hotspot in the future.
