I had my best breakfast in Hilton properties in Shanghai here. “Freshly made chee chong fun with prawns” This beats the egg omelette which was also equally as good. Hence best breakfast in Shanghai at Hilton properties High tea offering was limited. Only manage to get chips. Room has a very nice hard and soft pillow which makes sleeping very comfortable. The room was furnished well and carpeted. Very old posh look and is well maintained. Evening canapés selection is small. I believe hotel is focus on selling deals for high tea / dinner on WeChat , Dian Ping. Would be good to offer to guest for us to consider too if our language is limited. Location is near the maglev station and main reason why I stayed here to catch a the morning flight out of Pudong the next day.

Don’t stay at this hotel if you want a cool room, the air conditioner is outdated and doesn’t work beyond 24 degrees, they send an air fan which is of no use or purpose. I would highly recommend staying at another hotel if you want a cool room to sleep in. The reception / duty manager is unable to resolve this issue, and the reception said we only turn the AC on during afternoon and not during the night, that’s quite shocking to hear.
We had a great stay at DoubleTree as a family. The service was excellent - special thanks to the manager Jimmy who helped us to resolve a delivery issue all night. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast selection was great. Would definitely return next time we are in Shanghai.
This hotel has really kind staff, they helped us set up our wechat account and gave us a little amenities kit at the reception desk. The lobby looks elegant and cute with a staircase featuring lots of plants. Theirs also 2 robots that have different roles delivering things in the hotel. You can also order meituan to the hotel which is so convenient. As a Muslim traveller I found that the staff were very kind about halal dietary needs and showed which items were halal. The hotel is located 20 minutes away from the futuristic bund views and malls. I would say that Pudong is a lovely, friendly area. The hotel is kept well clean and the room is very spacious. I would prefer if they put the water in the room rather than the bathroom but other than that the service and everything else is amazing. Thankyou so much hilton staff! I am having a wonderful stay. It feels quite sad to be leaving China soon as the service was very good.
The only thing good about this hotel is the location. It’s close to the metro station, but you can’t say anything else good about it. The hotel is old and dirty, public areas and rooms included. The air conditioning was not cleaned which makes the whole room smell bad. The breakfast is below average, and the coffee is not good. The personal doesn’t speak English beside one or two so communication is very challenging. It took them an hour to correctly put the billing address on the invoice. Always check you invoice! On the first day I ordered a coffee from the lobby, for which I paid for on the spot and they also charged it on the room stating that it was not paid. I asked the lady at the reception to help me go through my charges on Alipay, and she said she can’t find it, so she made me pay for the coffee again. After that I found the first transaction too, but it made no sense to restart the whole conversation. I personally don’t understand why would you risk the hotel’s reputation for a 28RMB coffee, but who knows. Anyhow, if possible, avoid this hotel.
