As a 5 star hotel, they deserve 2 towards 1 star ratings. Here's pros and cons: Pros: -Breakfast buffet is superb. Both quality and taste does not disappoint at all. Coffee is sub par though. -Rooms are clean. -Female staff are nice and helpful even though there is a huge language barrier. Cons: -Male staff are not helpful and would see you struggle with luggage and can walk past you without assistance or even asking if we need help. Some would even show annoyance when asked direction to destinations, answering without looking at our face and seems to try to brush it off quickly. -Rooms are super small. I understand we book 2 twin bed rooms but there is nowhere to sit besides our bed. -There are unnecessary things in the room but not enough necessities. First they have a wine glass/showcase with just water bottles inside. That could have been a table and a chair where we could lounge for a while before getting on the bed. Second, there is not enough flat surface where you could put your things. I have to put my make up kit in that showcase since the vanity space is limited. The bed side also is crowded with unneeded things so I have to put my laptop on the floor overnight to charge. -Shower room has nowhere to hang towel. So basically if the two guests are non couple like me and my auntie, we have to make sure the other looking other way so we could step out of shower or open the door naked to get towel. Then we have to go on to the other room (toilet room) to put on lotion and get dressed since the shower room is all wet area. -Check in process takes 45 minutes. We were surprised when one of the previous guests before us raged at the staff at the time of our arrival. But after waiting 45 minutes to check in, we started to understand. We then thought it's the process all hotels in China have to go through but nope, we checked in to another 4 star hotel 2 days later and check in process was normal 10 mins max. Also after check in is finished, no one tells us how to proceed or where the elevator is like a 5 star hotel service should be. We left walking around trying to figure out where the elevator would be. And looking so puzzled, still no staff came to our rescue. -The hotel is not on the Bund. We need to take didi back and forth around 9 yuan each way to the Bund. All in all: I will not come back and I will not recommend this hotel to any of my acquaintances. 2 stars rating is for the food or else it would be 1 star for this so called "5 star hotel"

The hotel is beautiful. My only complaint is they try to upsell you if you purchased through a 3rd party provider. It took 1 hour to check in due to this and having to use Google translate. Other than that breakfast was phenomenal and the location is great. Also, they have 2 small elevators which you will have to enter to get to the lobby and rooms. So during peak hours you may have to wait a little.
Amazing stay at Blossom House Shanghai On The Bund! The rooms were beautiful, clean, comfortable, and the location was perfect. Service was excellent and our VIP experience made the stay feel extra special. One of the best parts was the complimentary professional photography service. The photographer was incredibly professional and made the whole experience so enjoyable. The photos turned out beautiful and were such a special memory from our Shanghai trip. Highly recommend this hotel — wonderful rooms, amazing service, and such a unique experience.
We had the most amazing time at Blossom House ✨ I have to start by saying that Rain, the manager, made all the difference during our stay. He was always so kind, attentive, and willing to help with anything we needed. My husband had a medical emergency while we were there, and Rain truly did everything he could to help us. When you’re far from home, that kind of care means so much and stays in your heart. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and feels so unique compared to the other hotels in the area. And the breakfast was absolutely delicious and generous! As for the view… I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. ✨ The location is also super convenient, with plenty of restaurants, markets, and shops nearby — everything you could need for a smooth and comfortable stay in Shanghai. We would absolutely recommend Blossom House and would happily stay here again! 🤍
Our party of 6 had a wonderful experience at Blossom House in March. We had 2 family rooms booked over 7 nights, and the check-in process was smooth. We appreciated that they were able to accommodate our rooms beside each other. Rooms: surprisingly spacious! While some might find the bathroom design odd, the "open-concept" layout worked well for us. Having a separate area for the toilet (with its own sink), and a separate area for the shower, meant multiple people could get ready at once. Only downside was that air conditioning is not on yet at this time of year, and we were all roasting! Service: staff were helpful and communication was no issue with a translation app. A special shout-out to the hotel bell-boys who were always prompt to help us with the elevator when our hands were full. The hotel only has 2 elevators, so expect long wait times or packed elevators during peak hours. Location: Less than 10 minute walk from the Bund and Yu Yuan Garden, and 5 mins to the metro. Great eateries & convenience store across the street (we especially enjoyed Yang's Dumplings) Breakfast: great breakfast buffet, must try the noodle station & deep-fried banana! Perks: complimentary mini-bar was a treat, there was never a shortage of bottled water, and the free laundry was so helpful (washing machine & dryer, which can get busy in the evenings). Our kids loved the robots & the complimentary candies in the lobby. We also loved the complimentary tea, and the different sweet dessert soups served every evening. The hotel also offers unique extras such as complimentary photoshoot, tours (conducted in Mandarin), and other daily activities, but we didn't take advantage of those. Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay and would recommend it! The hotel is clean, convenient and can handle large groups and families with ease.
