As first time visitors to Shanghai, this hotel was a gem. The location was central to The Bund and Nanjing Road. Rooms were spacious with modern fittings and always spotless. Hotel personnel were extremely helpful and will to assist wherever possible. Breakfast offered a wide choice of food catering for Asian and Western visitors. The onsite laundry was an added bonus and very much appreciated. Thank you to everyone who made our stay in Shanghai a memorable one. Keep up the good work.

This hotel was not cheap, so I had high expectations in comparison to the hotel I stayed in just before at half the price. We arrived at 5pm after a very long travel day and were stunned to be told our room wasn’t ready and we were to come back in an hour. 4 hours after check in opens and they think its acceptable to expect us to wait for a room we have paid 1150 yuan pn for. Only 18 hours in the room. I don’t think so. I told them it was unacceptable and they got a room ready after we hung around for 20 minutes. No apology. They didn’t seem to care at all and just looked put out. So I was surprised to see a bunch of literature in the room waffling on about how customer service was a priority to them because it certainly didn’t seem to be. Unfortunately we were put in a room directly below reception and could hear not only constant stomping above and the grating of chairs being dragged across the floor but the room next door had screaming kids making a racket and it was directly in front of the lifts so anyone at the lifts could also be heard because the room had no sound proofing. There was also building works going on so there was a constant hammering and sometimes drilling. I woke up at 4am at one point and they were drilling! Totally ridiculous. The room was nice. Great bed and pillow if a little firm. Well laid out and the shower was excellent. I’d like this shower at home. Giant tv we couldn’t use as there were no international channels at all and the screen sharing thing wasn’t working for us likely due to our eSIM. Nice kettle and free mini bar of bottles of water, tea and coke. A fruit bowl appeared when we got back from being out which was nice. Breakfast was so so. Mostly eastern catered. They have congee and dumplings from 9.30pm til midnight which was great. Location was excellent. Less than one minute to underpass to metro and 10 mins walk to the Bund. On Nanjing rd which is bustling with shops and restaurants. But if you can’t get your room til 6pm and then can’t sleep due to the constant noise then location and nice furnishings don’t matter a jot! Don’t stay here unless it’s much cheaper than we paid. The hotel we stayed in the day before at less than half the price was far superior.
Choosing the right hotel in Shanghai can be overwhelming. Staying here made every minute of research worthwhile. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth and kindness by the receptionist, 破阵子 (Pò Zhèn Zǐ). He went above and beyond to answer all of my questions and made us feel incredibly welcome. His exceptional service set the tone for our stay. Our room was immaculate, spacious, and fitted with two exceptionally comfortable beds. The whole family commented on the quality of the beds and pillows, and the shower was a standout. The location is hard to beat—right in the heart of the city, just a 10-minute walk to The Bund. Surrounded by great shopping and dining, the area also felt very safe. Breakfast was exceptional, with an impressive variety each morning. The warmth and professionalism of reception and the team made all the difference. We look forward to returning.
I booked the room level 5 with balcony and 2 large beds which can sleep 4 pax. Comes with breakfast and even supper. First time I have stayed in hotel with available supper. Comes really handy if you are shopping the whole day or even after Disneyland which would bring you back to hotel by 10pm. Supper ends 11pm. Love the central location and heritage vibe. We reached at 9am and reception was amazing and allowed us to check in. Kudos to the team. Even when we ordered food delivery. Food was sent using the robot which really was a thrill for the kids.
Point of view feom an Australian. Room size is excellent for a family of 4. Beds comfy and amenities excellent. The private rooftop courtyard was an added bonus. Breakfast is fresh and a good amount of options. Gym is small but usable. The Bund is 2minutes away on foot and you have Luck coffee over the road. Down the road heading to the Bund ypu have a decent family mart. Overall an excellent location, room and price.
