Great hospitality. Reception is friendly and helpful. Jeremy Li is extremely helpful and patient. He helped us with some queries in the hotel and out of the hotel. Would highly recommended. Zero recommended airport transfer which makes it easier for us as they make sure we have enough space for our luggage. Big thanks to Jeremy Li!

I’m writing to strongly advise against staying at this hotel- Amara Shanghai. The hygiene is appalling. I discovered blood-stained tissues in the bathroom and promptly reported the issue to the lobby manager. She was unable to make a decision and needed to consult a senior manager. I was told to wait about 10-15 minutes until 10:30 AM for a response. However, by then no one had visited my room. I contacted the Shanghai police and they came up and found several contaminated tissues with larger and darker areas. This situation is absolutely outrageous. Even the police found the contaminated areas more extensive than I had initially noticed. I had to go to the hospital for tests and blood tests. Please avoid this hotel at all costs. It is not a five star hotel…

From the start, the people of Amara Shanghai really stood out with their service. First off, shout-out to Kevin Chen, the hotel's F&B Manager who is really accommodating. He actively engages with guests, and even had some friendly talk with our kids. He arranged our holiday dinner smoothly, and everytime we dined at BLU, he and his staff took care of us warmly. Shout-out also to Carmellia who welcomed us during check-in. We requested to change rooms as the first one assigned to us had some smell of cigarette smoke. My son has asthma, which is why we avoid any asthma triggers, including smoking and too much dust. She arranged it quickly, and even helped us move our luggage. As for the hotel itself, you can see that it has years in it, as some of the areas are noticeably dusty. Its common facilities, though, are well-maintained. The location is also superb, as it's very near to a metro station and connected to a business complex with a spa and other shops. Food is also great. We enjoyed the variety of options at BLU during breakfast and our holiday dinner had awesome seafood. Room service food is tasty, too. Overall, Amara Shanghai's quality of guest service is what helps them truly shine among the many hotels in Shanghai. We would love to stay there again!

I love their service. Never encountered a hotel where all their service crew members are so helpful and friendly. The housekeeping aunty saw that I moved alot of luggage out of my room and offered to get porter to send my luggage to the lobby. The porters, Zero Zhang and his colleagues are so helpful in helping us with our luggage. They will also help us open our car door whenever we arrived at the hotel or boarded our didi car. Excellent service and enjoyed my stay here at Amara!! One amazing thing was they will keep replacing new bedroom slippers which seldom occur in other hotels that I been to.
