We were lucky that we could hear the flamenco performance on the ground floor while looking around. It added to the visit. Wonderful costumes and information.

Itinerary
Are you ready to find out the origin of flamenco dancing? The Flamenco Dance Museum is located in the oldtown of Seville, five minutes on foot from the Cathedral and the Giralda, one of the most historic places in Seville, and it is hosted in an eighteenth century building completely renovated and equipped. This interactive museum was founded by Cristina Hoyos, one of the most famous dancers and choreographers in history. Immerse yourself in the magical world of flamenco through its styles: Alegría, Soleá, Seguiría, the Taranto, the Tangos, the Guajira... Dresses from different epochs, interactive screens, exhibition of works of art ... the Flamenco Dance Museum offers a unique opportunity to know the most important cultural living entity in Andalusia. Visits to the museum can be made at any time of the day stipulated in your ticket, always from 11:00 to 18:00 (last entry at 18:00), except the first Monday of each month when the museum will open at 4:00 p.m.

Reviews
Really enjoyed this museum, even though we had very little knowledge of flamenco. The displays and videos gave us an understanding of the history of flamenco, the different styles of dance and information about particular performers. We didn’t have time to see a show, but the performance space looked lovely and you would need to book in advance as tickets had sold out
Paid €6 at the entrance for an adult ticket. There is no need for a skip the line pass if you are only visiting the museum. Museo was very basic & I was expecting much more. Area 1 is a short video, area 2 was a longer much more informative video about the 7 main dance styles. Area 3 sound quality was poor and hard to hear the information. Area 4 being dedicated to the costumes : this area was a severe let down. Area 5 another video of the dance which was nice to watch for a bit. The 2nd floor has a small gallery which was nice to view but very uninformative. Century vault has some great pre Roman stone wall (not super connected to a dance museum but nice to see) Nice way to spend 30 to 45mins.
An intimate and beautifully designed museum that gives you a wonderful immersion in the history and beauty of flamenco. An immersive theater makes you feel like you are at a real performance. What a treat.
I only went to the museum part as I had already been to 3 flamenco shows and didn't really have time to go to another one. I came during my kids nap time while my husband watched them and I decided to go and report back to him what I thought about the museum so he could decide whether to go or not. It was pretty terrible. Only thing I found interesting was one of the digital interaction boards showed you different movements, their names and why there were some a certain way. I think I was in and out within 15 minutes but definitely within 20. I'm assuming 95% of the positive reviews are for the show, not the museum, so it's hard to distinguish between the two when seeing the overall positive rating.
I could give this 10 stars if allowed. We watched the flamenco show and not really did the museum. The things that I liked; no phones allowed for pictures or recording and the small intimate location. What I loved, the enthusiasm and passion of the singers and the dancers. The whole show was simply out of the world. You can see that the ones in it actually love what they do and they do the best every single time. One advice I would give is to get there at least 30 min in advance to get the good seats in the front. This is a absolute "must do" to attend and enjoy. Please go if you get a chance.
Never been to a Flamenco show before, there are many to choose from, some are cheap tourist rip offs. If you ask the locals the majority will state the Museo del Baile Flamenco as amongst the best. There are 3 shows a day and you need to book in advance as shows sell out quickly. Also you need to get there at least 30 minutes in advance in order to get a decent seat. You pay EUR 25 each, we went to the 7pm show on a weekday. The show was spectacular and consisted of two female and one male dancer, two male singers and a guitarist, the show lasted an hour. The three dancers must have been pretty tired by the end as Flamenco is clearly very physically demanding and very artistic.
The history, preservation of the art form was demonstrated with local pride. Very unique and worthwhile. Gift shop great. Bought a CD but wanted a poster of a dancer that was not for sale.
This a museum with a clear mission, and it was almost completely unfulfilled. Despite some excellent photographs of famous Flamenco performers, and costumes, there was almost total lack of explanatory information. Merely listing different styles, with a cursory definition is a good example of what should have been on display. There are some videos of dancers, and recordings of good music, but all without an orientation, and little background of this unique Spanish genre of music and dance.
I did not see a show, only came to see the exhibitions, Complete waste of time. There is barely anything on display. A lot of the interactive things were not working. I did not learn anything about Flamenco. Not worth it.
Don’t usually write reviews, but so surprised such a pure entertainment show could be ranked so high. It was quite a disappointment as I was searching for another touching experience after watching the Flamenco at Casa de la Memoria, which was such a soul-touching artist performance and made me fall in love with Flamenco. The artists at Casa de la Memoria were so deeply indulged into their music and dance, and the skills were to used to show their feeling and emotion, not to just show off. To begin with, a good Flamenco show would never use microphone. This is the first sign that the Museo del Baile show was a superficial entertainment- they use such heavy electronic amplifier for the effect. With all due respect to the performers, I just did not find their feeling and emotion during the performance. Just a tiptap dance. I had to leave early btw since it almost ruined my love to Flamenco. Will have to seek another real performance to take back my fond memory on Flamenco. Just want to let those who come to Seville seeking authentic experience of the culture, do not take this as the real Flamenco. You deserve a much better one.
There are a lot of Flamenco shows around Seville, but my hotel recommended this one. I chose the one hour “intimo” show which is held downstairs and seats about 50 people. (The regular show is held upstairs). It’s best to get there early if you want a seat in the center, but since it’s only 2 rows of chairs, all seats have a good view. The performances were great - 3 dancers, a guitarist and singers. Each dancer had solos and performed as a group. I was amazed by the footwork and passion of the dancers. They do not allow photos or videos of the show, so you can be in the moment and focused on enjoying the performances. If you are not cheering at the end of the performance, you must be dead inside. Is it a little touristy? Of course it is, but it is a great introduction to Flamenco. The dancers will have you clapping and cheering olé by the end. I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope you will too.
We saw a 60minute Flamenco show with 6 incredibly talented performers. The performance space is intimate so you can really appreciate the athleticism of the dancers. The guitarist was brilliant - overall a fabulous show.
Modern museum that explores flamenco historically (a feat in dance art) and culturally. Rare film clips. Completely absorbing. And a beautifully designed space. Well worth the visit.
We went to this museum because our 5 year-old is still too young to be allowed at most shows. The museum is all videos of dancers doing different styles, plus a bit of related artwork and costumes. I felt like the signs/narration could’ve been a bit more detailed and straightforward. In the vein of flamenco, it felt like much of the text was trying too hard to be poetic rather than informative. We wouldn’t have found the €10 admission worth it except that our kid loved it. He liked the interactive activities (getting to mash buttons) and space to dance (probably aided by the fact that it was pretty dead on a weekday afternoon). He even asked to go back through!
I can not recommend this highly enough. This was absolute perfection. We did the “intimate flamenco” it was 37 euros including one drink. The performers were so close the skirts touched our knees as the dancer spins. Get there 40 min early to get best seat but there are no bad seats. The guitarist was incredible. The 2 singers were incredible. The dancers were incredible. GO GO GO!!! :)
Flamenco needs to be seen live to be appreciated. The museum is a fairly dry presentation of history and characters with some interesting film clips. A better use of your time and money is visiting a flamenco show.
I did not attend the show, I only visited the Museum... Anyway, during my visit, I still managed to stare at the stage, which can be seen from the top floor, and see and hear a bit of the flamenco number, which seemed pretty good to me! The museum itself is funny and interesting, with its various sections, where we can discover some facts and curiosities about this dance and its accessories! I really liked the cellar and took the opportunity to buy a CD at the souvenir shop! 😊
Flamenco museum with an original atmosphere but a little too fast. We stayed on our hunger. Perhaps we should have attended the flamenco show offered at an extra cost and which looked interesting.
Very nice museum, with many exhibition rooms, videos, explanatory panels, typical clothes. I really enjoyed the museum and its many rooms, it was just a nice journey into the world of flamenco between the music in the background and the images that surrounded us. Bello!
The museum consists of interactive rooms with videos of people dancing flamenco and barely tells the history of the dance. In another room has some clothes exposed and in another some paintings, that's it. Leaving without knowing anything, the dance is beautiful, but it is worth researching about the history on the internet and suddenly watching some show, because the museum is very weak. Take your 10 euros and go have a beer at a bar. Because the museum is a shame.
Unfortunately there was no more availability for the shows and we decided to see only the museum. For the price paid it is definitely not worth it, in my opinion it should be free.
We visited the museum and saw the show. The museum is not fantastic but the show is. Very good dancers and singers who give a true image of flamenco
It's worth watching a flamenco performance in this place, an hour's show, professional dancers do a beautiful show
a place where the atmosphere of flamenco with all the magnificent costumes and stage dresses. lead us into a rhythmic dance with several films
A very nice, interactive museum where you get a nice insight into the origin and styles of flamenco dance.
We visited the museum because recommended by the guide who described it as beautiful, interactive and technological... Maybe in 1990!! Of the multilinguals also declared at the entrance there were 5 (no Italian...), low definition videos, not even touch-screen screens (there was still the mouse-sphere to be turned with the ok button...) 5 cross rooms for a total of 10€ per person, which compared to other Andalusian museums or monuments is really a theft!)... The museum is strongly discouraged, I can not say about the shows...
Entrance is expensive for what you have. Two floors with one or two living rooms each with exhibitions of illustrations, posters and paintings. Of interest to me was a sector where you can see reproductions of costumes of dancers and dancers with some interaction to discover their history. Many objects did not work and several other empty spaces. Lovely tablao space. They could definitely get better.
Very disappointed... it is a beautiful place but 20€ for 2 without audio guide (while other more spectacular places do not even show these prices) for a visit that in our opinion is far from unavoidable in Seville! Lots of documentaries to listen to but we hear very little... in short it is a beautiful place to make a flamenco certainly but little interest! The price is shameful compared to many places to do in Seville, we had followed the Tripadvisor reviews, maybe a place for the initiated then!
We were abused right at the entrance, we were told to shut up and get out of the Mood ..... we were left out in the cold with old people ..... this pq asked us to arrive with at least 30 minutes in advance because they have no place marked.... I haven’t seen the show yet but just because of the bad reception was my negative rating.
Films showing variants and different danced themes/feelings are particularly interesting.
Small space that explains the origins of flamenco. Numerous films presenting the variants. Possibility to attend classes or a performance
