Seville: Rooftop Paella Cooking Class With Cathedral Views

We had a wonderful evening with Fernando and the new friends who shared the cooking and dining experience with us. A lovely venue at sunset with beautiful views of the city especially the Cathedral. Everyone had a part in the step by step hands on cooking experience with masterful guidance by Fernando, who introduced himself to us as we did with him. The meal, stories, and history were amazing. Well worth an evening to learn some new skills and enjoy beautiful views and meet some new fellow travelers. We might add - the Paella! Delicious, healthy, and even something we could learn how to cook with the right ingredients - and will again!

We loved this experience! Everything about it was perfect: great host, amazing views and excellent food! Fernando’s goal is to equip his students with the skills and knowledge needed to make good paella at home. Well, mission accomplished! I can’t wait to get home so I can try this out. It was our last night in Sevilla and I’m so glad we did this! Fernando was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable host, had everything prepped and we lucked out with beautiful weather. The paella was delicious and the whole evening was a nice break from crowded tapas bars. We met some lovely other travellers as well. I would definitely recommend doing this on one of your nights in Sevilla!

This paella cooking class was one of our favorite activities in Seville!! The process and technique was easy to follow and I’m confident we are going to be able to recreate this meal for our friends!! The sangria in Spain is some of the best I’ve had and now we have the recipe for that too! The scenery cooking on the patio with the sun setting and the cathedral in the background just got better and better. 10/10!!!

Most likely one of our top experiences in Spain. Very professional and courteous, Fernando instructed us through every detail of optimizing the creation of a masterful paella. This included the historical nuances of the dish as well as the key ingredients needed to perfect the dish. The refreshment and aperitifs prior were a welcome enhancement as were the gifts and add-ons following. The view from the terrace is wonderful and he times your session with the sun in order to create the ambience of a rooftop terrace in Spain. Above all, Fernando and his wife have created a 90 minute memory that is personal, professional, relaxed and above all educational so that the novice cook understands and becomes knowledgeable with the Spanish dish.

This is a very special experience and not to be missed! You will learn a bit of history, make a great meal, see an incredible view of the cathedral and make new friends! Do it and enjoy!

One of the absolute best experiences we had in Seville! We did a rooftop paella cooking experience and everything about it was perfect. The rooftop has the most spectacular view overlooking the Cathedral, and cooking paella together while listening to great music and sipping the best sangria made the entire evening so much fun. Fernando was wonderful, the food was incredible, and the atmosphere truly couldn’t have been better. We did this while celebrating my daughter’s 21st birthday, and it ended up being one of our favorite memories from the entire trip. If you’re visiting Seville, I cannot recommend this experience enough. It is an absolute must!

This was an amazing experience. Fernando was very friendly, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and of course, a great host and chef. The setting was amazing with the cathedral in the background and the setting sun which provided a beautiful ambiance. We learned about the history of paella and the secrets to making an authentic paella. But above all else we enjoyed the most delicious paella. By far the best one we’ve had in our two week in Spain. I really can't put into words how great this experience was but here goes...Fernando was fun, funny and at the same time very informative. His rooftop"Office" was was incredible, with panoramic views of the city. He described the highlights of his home town. He was never in a rush. We took pictures, drank wine, a little cheese plate as he told us about life in Seville, family and his career as an international chef. Then down to business. He shared how families in Spain gather to make the paella, each with their assigned chore. They talk, drink, share their the thing going on in their lives while cooking. His method of making the Paella was near fool proof. Even for someone like me who finds boiling water a bit of a challenge. Fernando is awsome, 10/10

Fernando has a fantastic balcony set up which is worth visiting if only for the view. The whole evening is incredibly well structured and takes you through the whole process, history and philosophy of paella. There are so many little tricks to learn that end up with the perfect paella. This is not just for cooking enthusiasts as Fernando makes it so accessible to everyone and the result is a great paella evening meal. We have had a very nice experience together with Fernando. As it was still low season, it was just us two with Fernando - a private cooking class, and we loved it. It is such a fun way to get to know the local cuisine, and that with a very nice view of the Cathedral and La Giralda. Fernando really took the time to explain us the tradition of cooking paella and to answer any questions we had. Fernando made sure we had a great experience filled with appetisers, wines, making photos, and finally a great-tasting paella accompanied by a lovely sangria. The length of the experience is fine, as it went by so fast - I could have stayed longer! We definitely recommend this experience to anyone who enjoys making food together in a laid back environment with great views (recommend at sunset) and with a great chef. Great value for money.

Great early night in Seville with Fernando who runs the class - worked out perfect for my wife and I who had to catch an early plane the next am. The paella turned out delicious and we learnt so much: on a rooftop terrace in Seville, one chef guiding a small group of ten, sangria in hand and a view we’ll never forget.

I signed up for the paella class with my two teenage daughters. It was intended to be a group class but at the end it was just us and Fernando. As we entered his roof terrace everything was laid out beautifully ready for us to start and the table set with snacks and welcome drinks. His charming nature made us feel welcome and at ease right away and I must say that the views were spectacular from the roof terrace. A prime setting overlooking the majestic Cathedral. Each of us got several turns actively preparing and cooking the large paella under Fernando’s guidance but ultimately it was us doing the cooking ( with some meticulous previous prep by Fernando). During the cooking process everything was explained in detail and extra hints provided. I can confidently say it was the best and most authentic paella we ever tasted with the perfect socorra. Truly yummy! Whilst it could be argued that the experience is somewhat pricey, when taking into consideration the amount of work and effort he puts into it and how much attention you get, it’s truly worth it. Many a times I have taken cooking classes on holidays but right away forgotten the process afterwards. This time it seems edged in my mind because of the way we were guided and the hands on approach. I wish you much success in future Fernando. Thank you for the amazing evening and we hope to return again for a repeat.
