About 45 minutes long in which we did learn a little about the evolution of bull fight. It is worth doing if you have the time and want to understand a little of this aspect of the culture.

It was brilliant and we learnt so much Our tour guide was excellent and explained everything in great detail. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip
The meeting place Viator gave us was incorrect. We had to ask at the entrance to the stadium and they helped us find our tour guide. By then we were 15 minutes late for a 45 minute tour.
Fascinating location. Incredibly interesting history. However, we would have loved to have learned more about the building (when was it built and why) and what were the items in the museum. Our guide gave us a great introduction to the breed of the fighting bull but, we would have benefited from learning some basics about bullfighting and who does it.
Interesting place and museum , we visited during day and the museum was very informative, chose to sit in the shade in the ring and watch the workmen prepare the ring for that evenings entertainment. Was surprised how close to the ring all seats were even though I think holds 12,000 We wouldn’t attend when bull fighting on but was interesting visit
We were initially unsure about visiting the Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla given the controversy surrounding bullfighting, but the guided tour offered valuable context that changed our perspective. We learned about its origins, including how early practices were tied to feeding the poor, and how it has evolved into a highly ritualized art form centered on the matador’s skill and performance. Because it’s still a functioning bullring, we were also able to get tickets to an evening show. Seeing the event firsthand was certainly an interesting and eye-opening experience, and one we’re glad we had—it’s now something we can check off our bucket list. While still culturally and politically suggest complex, the experience gave us a deeper understanding of this important part of Spanish culture. Overall, it was worth it for the historical and cultural insight.
The tour mainly consisted of a walk around the museum and a quick visit to the bullring. As there was a bullfight later we could not of access elsewhere. Although the guide gave a comprehensive history of bullfighting it was challenging to understand her at times so missed much of the detail.
The tour was mostly of a museum and was slow and boring. Only the last 10 mins was the chapel, arena & a “look” to the bull ring. I was under the wrong impression we would be escorted to the center of the ring. Not the case. The tour guide was polite and knowledgeable but this is for folks without kids who want to know the deep history of bull fighting.
Although I'm against bullfighting, visiting Seville Plaza de Toros was a wonderful experience. It's a place steeped in history, with beautiful paintings and matador costumes, as well as several stuffed bull heads hanging on the walls. Don't forget to bring your passport; those over 65 pay a reduced ticket.
Most of the tour takes place in the museum area, with displays of paintings and artifacts. Our tour leader was a bullfighting enthusiast.
Despite checking the meeting location with google maps, local staff and the Viator team the guide didn't turn up and couldn't be contacted by ourselves or Viator. Beware, our first bad experience using Viator, although the Viator team were responsive and helpful as far as they could
Great experience. Very informative, particularly about the bulls and the matadors. Great photo op in the bullring.
Tour of the Bullring in Seville was brief for the cost, the guide was difficult to understand, the museum pieces were lovely but more information to read would have been helpful.
The bullring is impressive and the history is very interesting. The guide was ok but was quite abrasive when answering questions which led to some awkwardness on the tour. She clearly had a lot of knowledge and understanding. However not everything was explained clearly. It sometimes felt like we were an inconvenience and that our questions weren’t welcome.
This tour was a no show. There was no communication from Seville Unique telling us the tour was canceled due to a concert. scheduled
An hour long tour, very interesting and worth a visit. Margarita is knowledgeable and friendly. Recommended to visit.
Tour guide didn’t turn up So Could not get in Had to buy more tickets from venue NOT happy at all. Poor service all round
Simple and informative! Great history and explanation of the Plaza de Toros in Seville and the history in Spain, France and Portugal. Couldn’t go on the ground due to federal event but that was not the operators fault.
If you have reservations regarding the whole bullfighting tradition it’s well worth taking the guided tour. The history is very interesting to hear and gives insight into what may for some be considered a controversial sport
It was a wonderful experience! Love the amazing history and facts that were presented by the awesome guide. Her accent was hard but her words were beautiful.
Group of about 20 with 1 tour guide. She had microphone, we had radio with earbuds. Tour was very informative and interesting. We learned about the culture of bullfighting, the reasons and methodology behind each aspect of the bullfight, and how it is the matador's job to bring out the best attributes of the bull he is fighting. The tour ends in the arena which is quite picturesque.
Overall our tour guide, Margarita was very knowledgeable and walked our group through the history and the exciting dynamics of the toros and the corridas. We had booked a tour with a bullfighter so I was disappointed that was never communicated to us. We also didn’t get to walk inside the ring which some pictures showed. I wonder if it was blocked off because of the rain and the upcoming fights for Holy Week.
A) Guide did nothing more than walk us through the museum, say what was on the signs, and ask “any questions”? B) Guide’s English was incomprehensible
Great and informative experience. Got to learn the history and see the arena. Worth it for anyone interested in the history and seeing the arena.
Very informative with many interesting details about the history and current practices. Beautiful museum.
Really interesting tour learnt some great facts and loved seeing the ring. The tour guide was knowledgeable and obvious had a love for bullfighting and Seville.
Surprised at the amount and detail of the information provided by the tour guide and the bullring museum itself.
Very interesting tour, filled with colorful stories and in depth history of bullfighting. Guide was very knowledgeable, but a little difficult to understand at times. All and all, a very worthwhile tour.
Incredible history of bull fighting It was extremely hot so found 1 of the rooms suffocating as no air conditioning The arena is still in use Unfortunately everything is stacked against the bulls & it’s seems very cruel
This was a great way to tour the bullring and to learn about the sport of bullfighting in Spain. We learned a lot on this tour.
Went expecting a guided tour. Paid for ticket that I thought included a guided tour Got an audio tour that was not synced beautiful place but got 0 information about the history of bullfighting and very limited access to bullring
Really enjoyed the tour and history the guide talked about, only downside for us was it seemed somewhat rushed through certain areas and if you did not stay close the audio would cut out due to range.
Interesting to learn history of bullfighting and see the arena. Guide knowledgeable. Would have better if English words used throughout talk. Use of audio equipment very helpful to hear over other visitors. All I all good experience and recommend.
It was exciting to see an actual bull ring. It was smaller than we had pictured but then that only makes sense when we thought about it. The museum was interesting although much of it was just paintings. We really enjoyed seeing the clothing wore throughout time for the matadors. Plan to spend about an hour and take the time to just sit at the arena. While not a must see, it certainly added to our Spain experience .
Wonderful expeerience intersting musse showing the hyistorical clothes and thinga about toros intersting must be seen
We visited on a Sunday and found that it was free ! Personally we would not want to see an actual Bull fight, but found the museum and exhibits really interesting. It was interesting to tour the building and go into the arena. This was a self guided tour.
Great tour. Only an hour but really informative. Museum has lots of great exhibits. Well worth a visit while in Seville.
Bullfighting (or as they call it in Spain, "Corrida De Toros") is not a "sport" that I can say is something that I can support, but its a big part of Spanish culture and history, and on a trip to Seville, curiosity got the better of me. I booked this tour as it gave exactly what I was looking for, in that it toured me around the Bullring and Museum, and gave me a better understanding of what happens. While not the most extensive of tours, a lot of ground is covered, and the museum part is rather interesting, and does give some good insight that I never knew about. After a walk through the museum, you then go out on to the actual ring itself, where you can walk around at your own leisure. All in all a rather fascinating tour, and worth doing if you are in Seville.
I was quite surprised that there was a museum also - I thought it would just be a tour of the ring. I am glad I booked the tour, I always prefer having a guide explain and talk about the site. My tour had to be moved to a different day so thankfully I was able to accommodate the different day, I probably wouldn't have had the same experience going on my own.
Our guide had wit and very knowledgeable. Willing to answer any questions we had. History was well presented and fascinating.
A great way to find out more about bullfighting and the history behind it. The guide was very knowledgeable and conveyed the passion behind the "sport". We did this tour to try and better understand the purpose of bullfighting and the controversy it attracts. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting an insight into this controversial form of "entertainment".
So this is a PR stunt to vindicate bull fighting It's a disgraceful spectacle and they try and sell it as an acceptable pastime Went to try and understand it before I made any judgment Bottom line it's barbaric and should be outlawed
English speaking guide provided context and nuance that would have been missed with a self guided visit.
The date I choose, there was a big concert being set up but I was offered a different time and day and the guide couldn’t have been more helpful! Forget what preconceived ideas you have about bullfighting and listen to the history of its origins and how the welfare of both animal and man are forefront . Stunning arena wish I could have seen the full affect without stage and seating but wasn’t disappointed. Book in advance highly recommend
The tour didn't happen. We arrived at 09:45 for a 10:00 tour. There was a sign posted on the bullring that said it was closed to tours due to the occasion of the "Noches de la Maestranza" concert series. No communication from the tour guide in advance that this was happening. I reached out to the tour guide immediately through Trip Advisor for a refund, but they have not communicated at all. Additionally, no other tickets were available for the duration of our trip, so we missed this entirely. I'll have to wait till I return home, but if there is a charge for this on my credit card I will have to dispute it.
We booked tickets for a guide and audio tour via the Get Your Guide app. It gave us good prices and also explained the tour description, meeting point for the start and a map. Our guide was lovely and very knowledgeable however we were slightly disappointed to turn up and be told that the bull arena had a stage erected in the middle for a concert and therefore we wouldn't get the full effect as we entered the bull ring from the stands. We decided to carry on with the tour as we had walked in 42+ degrees heat to get there and already paid. It should have been explained at the time of booking. The museum is fantastic and divided into four parts. It was really helpful having a guide as she was able to explain all the artefacts and history of bullfighting whereas otherwise we may have just wandered around looking at things. Bull fighting is certainly a Spanish culture and the history is interesting. I did come away with a much better informed knowledge on the subject. We walked into the arena via the stands and it was amazing. Just a shame about the stage bang in the middle . There are concerts running from 1 - 16 September 2023 and so be mindful before you book if you want the full effect. Am I glad I went - Yes! It's definitely an important part of Spanish history and culture and my 13 year old daughter really enjoyed it.
I loved the museum and the artwork, the history is fascinating and all the quirky little extras like the fact that bulls like eggplants. I liked my guide, she was very professional but she never seemed to be bored by her subject.
Our tour guide was excellent , very knowledgeable about the bullring and bull fighting history. We found it very interesting and informative. We hadn’t planned to go to the bullring but friends if ours visited Seville two werks previous to us and they recommended it, and I am so glad they did. I think it was one of my highest of our trip.
We had a small group tour and our guide was an expert on all aspects of bullfighting, the bulls, the history and setup of the stadium. I forgotten the name of our guide (embarrassing) but I think her name was Pitta or similar. Try to get her as your guide.
The guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about bullfighting and its long history. It is nothing like I expected or the mythology of the sport outside bullfighting countries. I now want to see a bullfight. And when I do I shall see it as an art.
