Arrived shortly after opening. Purchased senior tickets for a €3 discount from €18 adult fee. The aquarium is quite large & we spent almost 3 hours enjoying all the exhibits. The special exhibit is about sharks and is well done. The tanks have electric displays showing the pictures of the fishes, corals, etc., with names in Spanish & English, and the scientific name, and shows in what part of the world the species lives. The displays range from estuaries & rain forest to deep ocean. The large tank, with rays, sharks, & turtles, as well as a multitude of fish, has several large viewing windows, as well as a glass tube to walk through. The jellyfish displays have some varieties we haven't seen before. There is an active jellyfish research center with viewing window.
Unlike some other aquariums we have visited in the UK and other countries, the Seville aquarium was in a modern building. It was spotlessly clean, with no pools of water to slip on, or unpleasant smells. The water tanks for the fish and other marine creatures were also spotlessly clean, professionally well-lit, obviously well-maintained and the fish cared for. The aquarium is exceptionally well-designed on three levels with gentle slopes joining them together. There was a strong emphasis on educating the visitor with attractive displays (in English as well as Spanish) with lots of information about the fish and other inhabitants, their habitat and where they are located on the planet. The displays of small jelly fish swimming in the current in some tanks were beautiful.
An unexpected delight. Very well designed, plentiful exhibits and very friendly, helpful staff. Reasonable price.
A great attraction. Much better than I was expecting. We really enjoyed it. Definitely worth a visit. We spent about an hour and a half there.
Just a really nicely laid out and well stocked attraction. Felt clean and modern with a nice flow through the visit. Shame about the lack of all English signs (although there were quite a few). Can only hope that the creatures were well cared for (small of the pools seemed a bit small - snakes and turtles maybe?).
It was amazing. We take so many beautiful photos. We love the experience. So many different types. Don’t miss this opportunity
This was a nice little find and kept us out of the afternoon heat. The route through is easy to follow and there was plenty to see. Watch out for the big anacondas! If you are over this side of town I think it’s worth a visit.
The exhibits are well thought out and visually appealing. There are at least some places where us older folks can sit down and enjoy the experience. As former teachers we like to avoid the noisy school groups which can be achieved if you hang back and let them pass.
We enjoyed our visit and the various displays. We thought the various tanks were kept very well, clean and tidy, the same as the aquarium The staff were spoke to were all helpful & friendly We thought it was one of the best aquariums we have visited
Very good - the aquarium’s very well run . I recommend it and would come again best small aquarium I have visited. Lots to see
I was told by locals the aquarium is small and visit the last hour of business. Aquarium website states open until 7pm, TAdvisor 6pm…I arrived at 5:15. The doors were locked and as I waved outside thinking there was an issue with the electric doors, an employee came out to say they closed at 5pm. Update your website!
Seville Aquarium Admission Ticket This is a rather small aquarium and it does not have an assortment of large sea creatures. It does though have great displays of the small species and one of the best 'jellyfish' displays I have ever seen. There are two or more floors to explore, and each presents a new variety of sea creature for your enjoyment.
Great aquarium, lovely set up for the fish and animals. Really clean tanks and all the fish looked healthy. Beautiful jellyfish displays. We loved the turtles, rays and the octopus. Would totally recommend visiting.
It's not a large aquarium but it's very well done. When you look at the map it's hard to figure out where you are but the easy thing to do is just follow the exhibits and you'll see everything. The displays are very nice and informative. The large tank is cool with multiple windows at different levels and a tunnel that you walk through. Well worth a visit when you're tired of castles and museums.
Very well organized, a lot of environments and variety of species. A very good aquarium in the heart of Seville. A must see with the family.
Expensive. small and unimpressive. For 67 Euros for a family 2 adults and 2 children it was a unimpressive experience. I expected something different and bigger than it was. Not necessarily a must do. For example, the Aquarium from Antalya Türkiye is a must do. Not recommended.
From the outside I had low expectations. The car park was empty and it looked a little dusty. Well I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely a great thing to do if you have the time. We enjoyed it. A little out the way but worth it. I bought our tickets on a third party app but you can buy them there. You follow a path and it wasn’t crowded at all. There’s a nice cafe and shop at the end. Good family activity of something to do out of the sun and heat.
Despite being in a somewhat run down environment this little gem has so much more to offer than its exterior would suggest. The main feature is a huge 3 story pool with shark, turtles, ray and all manner of other fish. You can view it at several levels. There are many other smaller tanks with sea life from around the world and the educational information boards are very good. Good little cafe and gift shop. Can be accessed via the hop on hop off bus service. All in all a very good way to spend some quality time.
On the first day I timed my visit poorly with a school visit which was very loud and I was unable to enjoy the aquarium . Having spoken to the reception staff, they agreed to let me come the day after at a time that would be quieter without any school visits. A big thank you for this. As for the aquarium, it is fairly small but plenty to see. Awesome large aquarium with sharks, turtles and plenty of other large and small fish. The large viewing windows and smaller domed Windows looking into this large aquarium are really nice to look through and make four incredible photos. The smaller pools and aquariums look quite healthy. All of the corals are live compared to other aquariums that use fake corals. We spent quite a lot of time taking in the smaller details of every aquarium and it took us 2 1/2 hours to look around fully. I think the price of the tickets are reasonable, not only do you get to see some cool sea life but it also gets you out of the hot Seville sun for a few hours.
We decided to go into the aquarium when walking through the far side of the city and were surprised how quiet it was, which was nice as we could just take our time and feel like we had the place to ourselves. There's plenty of different rooms to walk through as you follow the path with tanks on each side showing various different fish and creatures. The main tank is impressive with some great views of sharks and sea turtles, which you can see from different view points. We were also surprised to see a Anaconda within one of the tanks as well.
A nice if relatively small aquarium. Some of the tanks looked small for the animals they were holding and only basic information about the different species. My teenager and I were happy but not enthralled
Brilliant place to visit! Very reasonably priced and really well presented and modern aquariums. The tanks are spacious and appear brilliantly looked after with a large variety of species to see. Would recommend to anyone who comes to Seville!
What a fabulous place! So much to see and the added bonus of being reasonably priced and a little cafe on site too!
We had our twin toddlers with us and were visiting Sevilla, as we were living in Spain for 6 months. We had kinda seen all that we wanted to see in Sevilla. Aquariums are in every big city and plenty of smaller ones and most are just okay. I would say this aquarium ranks as “just okay” but what we loved about it was that since Sevilla has so much to offer, not many tourists are flocking to the aquarium. Walking up to the building, I really wondered if it was open. There appeared to be no one around, no cars, nothing. The signage was poor. It was around 10:45am and the aquarium theoretically had opened up at 10am (for the months of July & August was what I had read). It was €18/ea for us 2 adults but our 2 year olds were free. We had read to plan on spending anywhere from 1.5-3hrs here. With a meltdown wrapping up our visit, we spent about 1.5hrs here. But prior to that, our kids really enjoyed spending a lot of time in the room with the large tank, watching the turtles, sharks, etc. swim by. They also loved the regular tanks, when you first walk in, because they are full of fun different things, usually a variety of fun animals & plants. The rock structure at the bottom does make it hard for kids to really get close, whereas some of the later tanks are flush against the wall, allowing the kids to get close. Like many aquariums, there is a great jellyfish tank and a moderate touch pool. There was at least one stingray (I'm guessing but could have been a manta ray) that had a bloodied stump in the touch tank. Perhaps it had just been done and/or that's normal but it was a little shocking to see. One of my favorite memories & pictures from my kids life thus far is at the end of our visit, when my daughter was having a meltdown and just laying on the floor quietly, my son went and grabbed the stroller and asked her if she wanted to get in. Not specific to the aquarium but it holds a special place in my heart because of that memory :) At the end, you exit through the gift shop, not unlike most places. Our kids spent like 15 minutes picking out toys and the staff were really gracious and patient with our kids. This was one of the first times we had ever let them pick out any toys anywhere so they were really into it. We end up buying 2 toys - 1 of which, a stuffed shark, is still well-loved at home, even almost a year later.
Aquariums are one of my favourite activities. The Seville aquarium was a modest size with a very manageable amount of both fresh and salt water fish to enjoy in under 90 minutes. My favourite were the jellyfish which I could watch for hours as well as a large tetra habitat which I hadn’t seen before. Signage was in Spanish and English which includes lots of education about plastics in our water system. There was a small cafeteria and gift shop. I found the 18 Euro for an adult to be quite pricey. This aquarium is adjacent to a very nice park.
A superb place to visit on a dull day, and next door to a very pleasant park. The display is delightfully set out in different scenes, and the designated walkways lead you through from delight to delight. The whole attraction is beautifully kept, with a vast array of different fish, and to watch the 'jelly fish' clos up is wonderful. From sharks and turtles to brightly coloured exotics, they are all there and look wonderfully well looked after. A first class attraction.
A good place to visit on a rainy day. We went there because during our holiday we caught on a rainy day so we needed an indoor activity. It turned out to be a very good option.
Great aquarium with wonderfully well kept tanks. Rays and sharks were wonderful to see in the large tank but the jelly fish were mesmerising to watch. We didn't travel with children but imagine they would find it a magical place to visit.
Such a hidden gem! While I’m an adult and don’t have children I still love sea life! With that said I’ve visited a number of aquarium and leaned new things visiting the Seville Aquarium. Provided a great variation of sea and water life, photo opts and a nice cool down to the toasty out doors Seville has to offer. Also, the walk to/from through the Mona Lisa park makes for an added bonus to the trip.
Top class aquarium. Very first display is species from the local river, which is a nice touch. All the tanks were very beautifully and creatively dressed. The information plates by each tank were brilliant with brief info about species, distribution and if it is at risk. There is a touchy-feely ray tank! And their huge one with sharks which you see from many angles. They let themselves down with the shop. Pretty much kiddies only.
Although small, the aquarium turned out to be extremely interesting. I was very impressed by two things: the octopuses and the small aquarium where you could see how sharks hatch (I see for the first time). So if you are in Seville, I highly recommend you to visit it. There was no queue to enter, although there were visitors to the aquarium itself.
Such a variety of sea-life & so beautifully displayed. The shark tank was definitely the highlight! The biggest surprise was the anaconda - such an amazing / terrifying thing to see! Would highly recommend
Excellent experience with a variety of fish and other marine species. Great information at the side of each table regarding the species inside
Its my first visit to an aquarium and found it amazing ! The Sharks are awesome but all the varieties of fishes and animals are very well preserved and showed !
Really enjoyed the visit - the aquarium is superbly maintained and has a good collection. Everything is well presented and leaves a lasting impression. Brilliant if you need a break in summer heat.
Good place to escape the heat for an hour. Fairly good range of species and info but rather small which meant the entry price felt a little steep.
Seville aquarium is very nice place, there you can spend some beautiful time,(turtles were my favorite) 😁 good value for money
We were in Seville about 2 years ago for a few days between tours. It was stinking hot and we were seeing everything by foot. We were buggered and accidently came across the aquarium. We weren't even sure it was open but it was. It was heaven after the heat and all the crowds outside. We took some gorgeous photos and loved all of the wonderful exhibits. We loved it so much we went back the next day. It wasn't crowded at all. Couldn't understand why. We told the rest of the people on our tour about it and are hoping that the tour company include it in their future tours once Covid is over.
We had a lovely visit to the aquarium with our son. It was almost empty despite being a sunny Saturday afternoon. The main tank is wonderful but there are lots of interesting creatures throughout. We loved the jellyfish! We'd love to know why one of the bull sharks has almost a hump shape; was it injured?
My boys and I had a wonderful one hour visit - very thrilling. The venue is super and spacious. We had lots of fun....
We had a blast with our 2 years old visiting the aquarium. It was super quiet, at times it felt like we had the whole place for ourselves although we went on a Saturday afternoon (around 3:30 pm). We spent a lot of time just looking at the huge shark tank that is also full of fish, rays and turtles. Exhibitions were all super clean, diversified and beautifully presented. Our kid really enjoyed the visit and so did we!
Nice place... Lots of tanks and species... Good and quiet enviroment... Staff ok but could be more friendly... Buying Tickets online give you a discount... 3 adults and a Child less 6 euros... Must visit...
We visited here today and really enjoyed it. All signage was in Spanish and English which was much appreciated. The cafe had a good menu at reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend.
Family of 4 adults on a quiet day, it flows nicely through the exhibits which are in big clean tanks. A vast amount of species and it was interesting too. Definitely recommend
I visited with my little brother and parents but I felt like I was the child in here! breathtaking fishes and as someone who usually doesn't support businesses that captivate animals, I was happy to see how well they were taken care of and how clean everything was. I also loved how educational it was about global warming and enviromental issues and that it was not only in Spanish but also in English. The jellyfish exhibition is a must-go!
Was one of the stops on the hop on hop off and was a welcome escape from the afternoon sun. Well organised decent size aquriam. We stayed for a week and would recommend if like us we had seen all the major sites. Small cafe with seats looking over the river for a cold beer after was a plus
Very nice experience. We’re a couple with no children but a love for the marine life and we really enjoyed the aquarium and the information provided. The writing and everything was in English underneath the Spanish, which I really appreciated. Highly recommend this place whether you have kids or not!
We went to the aquarium on a thursday after 3pm, so had discounted tickets which was great. Nice selection of tanks. The had a jelly fish exhibition on and you could see jelly fish being bred. The also had an aquarium nursery where you could see babies such as sharks still in the eggs. Very educational and nice to get out of the sun. Not the biggest aquarium in the world but i've been to smaller that charged more!
From some of the reviews our expectations weren’t high, but as a kid friendly option we decided to give it a go. The entrance price is arguably a little step although we spent a really enjoyable hour and a half wandering around the various exhibits. The favourites included the Turtle and Sharks in the large central tank, Seahorses and Jellyfish.
