The downloaded audio guide on the popguide platform was terrible. It constantly froze and glitched all the way round the palace which made an already very complicated guide very difficult to follow. The navigation instructions were poor meaning the audio wasn’t linked to the part of the tour you were on.

The Royal Palace of Alcázar is the oldest royal palace in Europe - history and art intertwined since the 11th century displaying magnificent unique architectural styles together with tiles and tapestries which are truly stunning - look closely at the walls and soak in the intricate details hidden within. Gardens just beautiful and peaceful. Such incredibly good value for money - we wandered for 3 hours and could have stayed longer. Sadly, the cafe food is not at all good and drinks are poor (gift shop has closed down?) - but this place is all about the palace. Worth getting tickets well in advance (Get your Guide) - we did not purchase audio guide as QR code can be scanned within palace and feed information to your phone - queues are lengthy and tickets do sell out (website states ID/passport to be carried - these were being inspected on day we visited). Would we return? Yes.
Viator is a third party reseller who doubles the price and pretends to be authentic tour guides when they are just profiting from the actual tickets. The authentic venues frown on your ticket and give you less than you would get with a real ticket.
Booked with Headout for 1pm. Queue was long but moved fast. The best bit was the robot lawn mower and peacocks! If you like gardens then this is for you. We got some pictures and were there 45mins. But not sure this was worth the money for us.
A lovely visit. Spent a couple of hours wandering the gardens and buildings which were lovely to cool down in such hot weather! Stunning architecture. Handy little café, not extortionately priced. Don’t forget your ID/passports. Luckily I had a copy of ours in my camera roll.
M Angeles did an amazing informative tour. Very kind fun and helpful !!
Very interesting and easy to follow. I’m really happy with the experience
Alcazar was beautiful however we opted for audio guide and had lots of problems listening to it. We couldn't get on it and if we did kept repeating or jumping
This is an amazing complex with lots of history. Unfortunately neither the audio guide nor the on site signage allow you to figure out the story. You are left to your own resources to try to figure out what you are looking at, its significance, and even how to progress through the complex. The alcazar tour in Madrid was so so much better presented. Such a disappointment!!
We bought 1 pm they haves us ticket for 230pm Had to wait 1.5hr and drive 2 hrs to our ship Almost got left behind, I will bee recomend you
The place underwhelmed me, lots of courtyards, walled gardens and passageways. The audio guide is a list of different locations that explain the history of that location, it doesn’t guide at all (probably so it doesn’t compete with people guided tours). It seemed most people were walking around confused. Its well preserved but unlived in.
A truly beautiful building and gardens - glad we were visiting in springtime when the temperature was not too hot
Definitely must visit, the buildings a gardens where equally lovely
A little confusing re booking. Booked one slot online 10 days prior with trip advisor. 24 hours later received an email to say no tickets available at that time but 2 hours later (now at 1700) was possible! Agreed to it and all arranged via phone call as emails not responded to. Small print says you need to pick your ticket up at tourist information. They were very helpful with tickets though time was now 30 mins later again, but advised we could probably go in earlier (we were not able to!). Palace itself was stunning, but audio tour via our ticket was confusing in parts. Glad we went, not breath taking, but fair bit of admin hassle prior to it.
The audio guide is really confusing. The palace is absolutely gorgeous!
What a great place to visit, the gardens are amazing, from booking the tickets, collection and entry all easy.
Reception staff failed to recognition documentation and email ticket initially. Suggested they were not valid. Had to wait 20 minutes in the queue before matter was eventually resolved.
Beautiful historic buildings and stunning gardens
We booked to see the gardens. we were not told that they would not be opening them on the day of the visit nor were we offered a discounted rate or told at entry that they would not be open. Opny after wandering around to try and find someone to ask we told
There was nothing wrong with this tour but I would say that if you plan ahead, you can book from the official site for less and still get an audio tour. The only inconvenience with this was that we had to walk about a half mile and find a separate tour company to pick up our tickets. They don't email them to you.
Tripadvisor didn’t send me the tickets, we didn’t get to go. There was absolutely no way of contacting them. They still have my money and I know I’ll have to go through a crappy process to get it back. Nightmare. DO NOT BOOK TIX WITH TRIPADVISER
Disorganised shambles. Purchased tickets in advance but still the queuing was all over the place. The app guide was terrible as you could not relate it to the map. No signage to guide you Basically all you get is loads of empty rooms with tiles on the walls and ornate ceilings. The only slot available when we went on line was 4 pm which was fine apart from when we went to get refreshment at 4.55pm the cafeteria was closed Further frustration the only part where there seemed to be interesting rooms was only accessed at extra cost. Not made clear when we booked The gardens were ok but needed a good weed. Overall very disappointing.
Clearer information prior to attending around the need to take your own headphones/earphones would have been hugely beneficial Too many people. I get that it’s popular but the crowds impacted negatively Beautiful place
We visited the Alhambra in Granada with Naturanda, and our guide Miguel was fantastic — very knowledgeable and engaging. The Alhambra itself is absolutely stunning and a must-see when in Spain. It was a long day, and I only wish we had more time inside the palace, as our visit there lasted about 2.5 hours and felt a bit rushed. Overall, it’s a breathtaking site and well worth visiting!
I could NOT download tickets. I booked hire car for visit for my family of four. Cancelled by Provider Ana S. Refund REQUEST sent. No acknowledgement so far. My Seville memories marred by Missed out Alcazar
It was very difficult finding the spot to download the audio and get the tickets. The lady at the tour desk was very helpful and was very friendly. The audio guide worked on our phones and was well done.
You should not miss this tour if you are in Sevilla. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Know that you must pick up your actual tickets about 6 blocks from the Alcázar about an hour before the trip. However, it is easy to find and easy to get your tickets. Download the audio app before you go to avoid delays when you get there.
Wow! What a beautiful site and worth the admission price. The audio guide was okay but could have provided more information.
I have to say most of this is my own fault. I booked tickets for me and friends who had just arrived from UK. As a plonker I put in the date a day early and only realised on morning we arrived in Sevilla so already missed the tickets. My only complaint when a spoke with the staff was very dismissive. Yes they don’t need to do anything but the lack of empathy did not impress me. This is a brilliant county and most of my experience with the locals is only positive. Just disappointed with their response. Would not bother to re book
A very disappointing experience. Whichever body is responsible for giving the tourist a worthwhile and pleasing experience in visiting the Alcazar, should be ashamed. There is a complete lack of signposting as to where you are and where you should go in this vast palace and gardens. You, very occasionally, come across an Information board which is supposed to tell you the relevance / history of where you are standing. However, the top half is in Spanish and the bottom half, although in English, has been made illegible because the words have been bleached by the sun. Surely those in charge must have noticed this but can’t be bothered to replace the board with a readable version! The Gardens , although huge and pleasant to walk around were, in my opinion , badly maintained. Admittedly it was early October when, maybe gardens are not at their best …but the overall impression was one of them being unkempt
It is quite difficult to obtain the ticket from the designated travel office. There was a long line to wait. The agent was not helpful . We booked visit to cathedral and Alcázar on separate dates. We have to get the ticket from two different offices. When we book visit from other agency. The electronic tickets are sent to us in email, much more convenient.
Palace is stunning however at the time of our visit the gardens were closed and since this was a main reason for us going it somewhat detracted from our experience.
Our experience was really bad from beginning till end. We went to collect tickets and the tour group that sold tickets were closed and then we called them for tickets they sent PDF. Copies with some instructions but we started the tour it was a bunch of recorded voice commentary in no order. Does not recommend this to anyone. Please buy tickets from official ticket center it better and very cheap with guided path for your tour
An amazing experience, from the incredible amount of rooms and courtyards to the beautiful gardens and park areas. Great to see where game of thrones is located and hear about the rich history and work gone in to making this an enjoyable experience
Sadly the tour operators gave me the wrong audio so I was unable to listen to the history. The building was beautiful though.
Alvaro was great The best Enjoyed the guided tour and recommended to tourists The weather was too hot Need public restrooms
Such an incredible tour! The gardens and castle are beautiful and the thorough and easy to understand narration made it a pleasure to enjoy. The amount of time, approximately 1 hour, was perfect to spend there and there are so many incredible picture opportunities. Bring air pods, make sure you read the fine print about where to pick up your tickets (heads up, it is not at the site) and pack water.
Had such an amazing time at the visit to the Royal Alcazar with Alvaro. He knew so much about the palace, was super kind and helpful answering any questions we had!
Very confusing ticket distribution! Downloaded the bar code ticket ( how it was described by you) but then to find out it’s not the ticket and have to rush to find the tickets office !
An incredible and enriching experience
Great experience - fantastic palace - very good informative audio guide, although the stations are not always entirely clear.
We had everything paid for and booked in the application, everything said it was in order, and when we arrived they didn't have our reservation; after investigating, this company does this a lot and oversells the spaces, terrible service.
I bought two tickets for the Alcazar via Booking and paid €64 for them. When we arrived at the entrance of the Alcazar, we had to go and get my reservation validated at the tourist office counter. On these tickets, €15.50 was indicated for each ticket. I do not understand why I paid €64 when I should have paid €31.
Very nice visit, booking made quickly Naturanda is really very good, I recommend this agency
The visit was magnificent. A large part of it was thanks to the guide, Emilio. A great professional, friendly, and who not only made us enjoy the history because of his knowledge, but because you can tell when a person enjoys their work. You have a great professional on your team.
Nice experience, the guide Anita was very friendly. Reception area very close to the Royal Alcázar.
The QR code for accessing the audio guide does not work on Android: out of five tickets booked, only two could be activated. Despite the superficial politeness on-site where we were simply told about a "security" issue on our phones, the staff then cleared themselves of responsibility by claiming that we were unpleasant in order to refuse the refund. Waste of time, bad faith, and no commercial gesture. Unacceptable.
Wonderful, it has been great, very pleasant
A spectacular visit and the guide María Angeles explains things very well and makes the experience very pleasant.
Easy to find, no problems picking up the tickets. A must-see visit in Seville, the castle and its gardens are a place that transports you elsewhere. Plan for 1.5 hours to discover everything.
