We recently booked a White Villages tour through Mahsa at "Not Just a Tourist," and the entire experience was seamless from start to finish. Mahsa did a fantastic job organizing everything for me and my family, ensuring our day was completely stress-free. Our driver and guide, Carlos, was simply outstanding. Safety is always a top priority when traveling with family, and Carlos was an exceptionally safe, smooth, and professional driver. Beyond that, he was an entertaining and engaging guide who brought the region's history to life with wonderful stories. He was also incredibly patient with our group—never making us feel rushed. Carlos is truly a high-quality guide, and combined with Mahsa's flawless organization, we couldn't recommend them more highly!

We had Carlos as our guide on a private tour from Seville to Ronda and the White Villages on a cloudy, rainy day in January. While the weather was uncooperative, Carlos was wonderful! He told us all about the towns we visited and why they were important historically. He walked us around (in the rain) to see the sights. We had an excellent day with Carlos and he even provided some tips for our other days in Seville and surrounding areas. Despite the rain, he expertly handled the roads to and from and showed us off the beaten cafes.
We were pleasantly surprised when our SG tour started with just the two of us! We started our tour walking to the Old Town with a great view of the "New Bridge". Our walk along the Jardines de Cuenca led us to overlooks of the "Old Bridge" as well as the Roman Bridge. We walked over the Old Bridge and through the Old Town heading back towards the "new town". We stopped at a couple more scenic overlooks before heading to the Plaza de Toros. We found the self guided tour to be very interesting. It would have been helpful to have a targeted time to meet as it impacted our time in the White Villages. Our tour guide reserved a great location for lunch (Tobanco Los Arcos) and they were able to get us a spot even though we were later than expected. Our visit to Setenil de Las Bodegas was interesting as one example of a White Village. At the end of the trip our guide drove us to our hotel which was an unexpected benefit. All in all a very enjoyable day!
Carlos is a great guide with a lot of knowledge, he really took good care to show us what makes this region so special,
This was just a driver taking you from place to place. An uber would basically do the same thing for less. Our driver Carlos was not as involved as the other reviews mentioned. He walked with us in the first town and had breakfast. In the 2nd town he was rushed due to the parking situation and in Ronda he walked with us about 1 block then made recommendations for lunch then said he was tired and needed to nap. Usually with the small group Tours due to the price the guide has interaction with the passengers explaining the scenery as you drive and tries to make it a special experience. That was not the case. I was very disappointed with the entire trip especially when we paid $1156.00 for 4 of us to go.
Amazing day! Really thorough, beautiful tour with an amazing guide. So much fun! There was a miscommunication with myself and a third party vendor I used for the initial booking, but NJaT was extremely gracious and accommodating, which I really appreciated. Would definitely recommend!
This tour is great. We are a family of 6. Carlos, our tour guide, picked us at the hotel, and drove us all around the white villages. We stopped to see the sunflowers, explored Zahara and Grazelma and ate lunch overlooking the Ronda’s gorge. We learned a lot, ate great food and relaxed!
What a wonderful full day trip to Ronda. Our guide Carlos was awesome……definitely a trip worth booking!!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed this day trip to Ronda and the white villages. Small group size is great. No waiting to fill a bus. There were 6 of us in the van, plus the driver, Carlos, who was also an informative guide. The only change we would recommend was to go only to the second White Village, not stop at the dam, and spend more time in Ronda. We would have liked more time in Ronda. Our lunch in Ronda was one of the best of the trip. Carlos recommended the restaurant, Elias.
We booked the Ronda & white villages day tour and paid a bit extra to have it as a private tour for the four of us (two adults and two teenagers). It was Holy Week. We loved this tour. Carlos, our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and a very good driver too. In Zahara we had breakfast at the village's social club, something you probably wouldn't do normally. The drive to Ronda over a mountain pass (not for coaches and via another village) was stunning. In Ronda Carlos gave us a brief tour and then we were free to explore. This tour is very recommendable!
On this day excursion, Carlos drove us thru the white villages, ending in Rondo. Despite the unusual rain fall that day, Carlos treated us to these small towns with history and humor. We had a wonderful breakfast, tried local cheeses and ended with a special lunch in Rondo. The walking tours were slow paced allowing us to take pictures and ask a lot of questions. In addition to his wealth of information, Carlos is also a very talented artist. We enjoyed the day and can saw that we made a friend in Carlos.
Carlos was the best tour host we’ve ever had. He was well versed on the history and culture of these towns. More importantly, he catered it to how much we were interested in, which in our case was a lot! In my experience, what makes a tour or rural, small town Europe come alive is its history and why these areas became to be the way they are in this modern time. Carlos talked about how these villages came to be with each takeover of Iberia and how these villages current people have maintained its history as younger generations move out to the cities and then back. Carlos also had tons of knowledge of the ecology of the area, which is important to locals and park system around these towns that protect it. The best compliment of a tour host I can give is that by the end of the tour, he felt like a friend you want to keep in touch with. Carlos absolutely left us with this. Finally, he is a big NBA basketball fan, so if you are, he will gladly talk about it as much as you’d like! 😉
The tour covers some of the best sights of the white villages and Ronda. Our guide Juanra was very knowledgeable. He shared the historical and geological importance of the castles and white villages along the way, and showed us several hidden gems in Ronda. Very friendly. Highly recommend!
We scheduled a tour with Not Just a Tourist to go to Ronda with a small intimate tour. Oscar was our guide and he was phenomenal! He was very informative and knew all the answers to our questions. Even where Ronda got its name. Oscar was fun, enlightening and took great care of us. If you are planning a trip to Seville book a guided tour with Not Just A Tourist and book it with Oscar! We had a wonderful experience. A small tour is the way to go. It cost more money but absolutely worth every penny!
Oscar picked the four of us up in Sevilla and took us to Ronda via two other white villages where he encouraged us to take our time and gave us some history. He was happy to answer any questions we had and never rushed us. He was very knowledgeable. Ronda has such an interesting history! The bridge is beautiful! He was also willing to help us with translation at the shops there. A great trip!
Our guide Oscar from ‘Not just a Tourist’ was terrific. Patient, knowledgeable, an epicurean and willing to make the trip as flexible to our needs as possible. We had him for the entire day. He took us to see amazing views of these three very different White villages. He was a great conversationalist very aware of current Spanish and world issues. Discussing those made the long drives more pleasant
From the initial booking with Masha to the tour with Carlos, everything was seamless. We had a wonderful day on a private tour of the White Villages and Ronda with Carlos. We stopped for breakfast in Zahara, had a lovely time in Sentinel, and ended our tour in Ronda. After touring Spanish cities and the bustling Feria in Seville, it was a treat to see the countryside.
We had a wonderful day touring the white villages and Ronda. Our guide Carlos did a great job of explaining the history along the way and giving us an experience of the local culture. We toured an olive oil factory that is also a place with many bullfighting artifacts and went to a very special winery. We ended the day in Ronda and learned about the beginnings of bullfighting in Spain and the rich history of the city. I would highly recommended this tour you won’t be disappointed!
While the main draw to Ronda is the 'new' bridge, the history of the settlement there and the other sites made this a stunning visit. Our guide, Ramon, was very informative about the early settlement by Arabs to the present day and knew the right places to go to show the development over the centuries.
It was a nice, relaxing day trip to the White Villages. We started the tour, with a stop for pictures, overlooking the White Villages from the top. Then, we visited Zahara de la Sierra, followed by Grazalema and Ronda next. We enjoy a brief morning coffee break at Zahara, followed by lunch Grazalema - both village are less busy. More time spent at Ronda, where we managed walk 3/4 of village after completing visit to Puente Nuevo for some photos. Expected to walk lost in Ronda, a comfortable pair of sneakers is recommended.
I was surprised to find out this trip was just for me and my husband (I was expecting a group), but it was way better than expected. Our tour guide CARLOS was amazing. So knowledgeable, and he introduced us to the locals and took us to his favorite spots to see and eat and showing everything he could. I wasn't expecting to learn and see this much. The winery he took us was beautiful and a great experience as well. Will definitely recommend the tour with Carlos 100%.
Carlos, our very knowledgeable guide, picked us up near our hotel and we spent a beautiful day seeing the smaller towns of Zahara and Grazalema before visiting Ronda. We learned so much from him throughout the whole day: about Spain in general, Andalucía, and what made each stop special. We experienced unique local food, and stunning sights, including some local flora and fauna. Having a personal guide allowed us to ask lots of questions and made the trip very personal. We were new to using private guides on holiday. If affordable it beats groups. Great day out!
You have to do this tour. If you get the guide we had, Carlos, you will love every second of it. Carlos took us to a wonderful cafe and bought us espresso and bread. We then all sat down together and talked and learned about each other's countries. The tour of the white villages and of Ronda is a must see when visiting Spain. You can't miss it. Just look at my photo.
My wife and I throughly enjoyed the Ronda and White Villages tour with an addition of Olive oil Tasting. It was a perfect day for the trip from Sevilla and Carlos our guide was absolutely wonderful. It quickly felt like traveling family or friends. His knowledge historical and cultural. was excellent. A great day we’ll always remember. Zac
Fantastic experience touring the white villages and Ronda from Sevilla! I highly recommend Not Just a Tourist and Carlos for a unique experience off the beaten path. The scenery on the drive through the mountains was absolutely breathtaking, and the villages were so charming. Each was unique, and Carlos knows the area well. Touring the small olive oil factory and winery add-on made it extra special. It was a pleasure to spend the day guided by a local. Five stars all around!
Traveled with my wife and three adult children from Seville to the white villages (Zahara de la Sierra and Grazalema) followed by a tasting at a local winery and tour of Ronda. Our tour guide Carlos Santigosa was absolutely fantastic and our whole family fell in love with him as he was sweet, funny, knowledgeable, and generous. The scenery, history, culture along with the food and wine were terrific. A great day that none of us will ever forget!
We had a great day with Abbie exploring some of the smaller villages in Andalusia. The day started with lots of fog, but luckily the sun came out by the afternoon. Ronda was amazing, and a must see. Not having our own car, having a guide allowed us to see all these incredible places. We opted for the Olive Mill visit as an addition, and I would highly recommend this.
Carlos Carnevali Santigosa was our private guide. We are a couple, and he gave us such an amazing experience, we felt like a local friend is showing us the secret sites of Ronda and White Villages. He gave us very useful tips regards Seville and explained the historic and cultural background of Andalusia. We enjoyed it so much, and highly recommend him to anyone who's planning a trip to Spain.
I wish it was possible to give a 10 star review. Carlos was the best tour guide ever (and we’ve been on a lot of tours). Not only was he an expert in the historical significance of each stop in Zahara, Ronda (which we highly recommend), he also organized a private wine tasting in the region which was outstanding. We highly recommend “not just a tourist” and especially Carlos!
Simply the best tour agency! Masha and her team were so wonderful and cooperative . When I come back to seville I will choose this agency to enjoy my time in Andalcia.
Packed and educational day trip from Seville. Carlos met us early at our hotel and we arrived in Zahara, our first stop, before mid-morning. There - as with Ronda and Grazelama later in the tour - his approach was a good mix of show and tell. He walked us around the charming village and pointed out details of churches, windows, shops, and other places that we would otherwise have missed. He made a point to also introduce us to the local food he likes, which added another dimension to the tour. And while driving in between our main stops, he paused a couple of times to show us other points of interest, including animals perched on mountain ledges that charmed our 9 year old daughter. Carlos made sure we had the complete experience even if it meant ending the tour later than scheduled. We also took the vineyard tour supplement - good option for those who want to have a peek at how wine is produced in a bodega.
Wonderful private tour of Ronda and white villages with additional olive oil tasting. Carlos was a great tour guide on the drive talking about the history of the villages and of Ronda, he was very knowledgeable and also gave us a great recommendation for a restaurant in Ronda just across from the bridge with excellent views and food and close to shops. The villages were lovely. Would love to go back to spend more time in Andalusia it was so beautiful. Thank you for such a lovely and memorable tour! Also to add the olive oil tasting was delicious and I brought some home along with soaps and lotions all made by hand on site by the same family for over 200 years!
We booked the Ronda and white villages tour while staying recently in Seville and it was a very enjoyable experience. Our host for the day, Carlos, was one of the best we have ever experienced. Nothing was too much trouble, his knowledge was amazing and he was so polite and great fun. The itinerary is good, a busy day but the villages were beautiful and we had adequate time in them all. Well organised and well worth the money.
After much debate as to how to spend our final day in Andalusia, our family chose to visit Ronda as well as Zahara and Grazalema, two of the prettiest white villages, with Not Just a Tourist. We could not have done better. We had a fantastic time - both touring the countryside and visiting these charming villages. Our guide and driver on this private tour was Carlos. He was a superb guide as he is incredibly well informed on Spanish history and culture. More importantly though, Carlos is an amazingly nice and well-spoken person who we all thoroughly enjoyed spending our day with. Carlos also went out of his way to work in a visit to the Ronda bullfighting ring and museum at our request. Fabulous day all around - strongly recommended!
We thoroughly enjoyed the day with Carlos and Carlito. This was by far the best tour we had in Europe. Carlos is beyond amazing and his knowledge of history and the places is significant. The villages were beautiful and words would not do their beauty justice. This is an unmissable tour, with a professional and skilled guide and company.
This trip included the standard stuff - the visit to Ronda - and a couple of stops off the beaten path. The off the beaten path stops were a rarely visited castle, and then a couple of white villages that were much smaller than Ronda, and consequently not touristy, quiet, lovely, charming. If you are a flat lander like we are the trip over the small mountains is a bit harrowing, but our guide and driver were incredibly solicitous and reassuring. Abby, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, and both she and Jose, our driver, were very nice people that we enjoyed talking with. Amazing views throughout the trip.
I work as a digital marketing intern in Seville and as such I've been on several tours with Not Just A Tourist. I went on this tour when my parents came to visit and we had a lovely day with Carlos! We first stopped at the beautiful and peaceful village of Zahra. We had a delicious breakfast, with freshly baked bread and had a walk around the charming cobbled streets while Carlos told us about the history and local traditions. He is full of knowledge, kind and genuine. He then asked if we'd prefer to drive by the lake or through the mountains and we chose the mountains and we were treated to absolutely stunning views. When we arrived in Ronda my mam was struggling to walk as she had surgery on her ankle and Carlos went above and beyond to hire a wheelchair for her and helped me to push her. Excellent service! Ronda is absolutely unmissable. The views are breathtaking - photos don't do it justice, you have to see it for yourself! On the drive back he recommended several restaurants and gave some great insider tips about the area my parents were staying. Overall, it was such a special day and I wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Seville!
Carlos picked us up at 8:00 am and drove us on our tour of the white hill villages. He was very knowledgeable, accommodating and entertaining. It was all fascinating and I was so happy to have someone else driving! I highly recommend this tour.
We had a great day touring Ronda and the white villages from Seville. Our guide, Driss, was great. He spoke perfect English, was very knowledgeable, and of course fun. We learned a huge amount about the local culture. We also added the wine tour and the olive oil. The olive oil tasting was not to be missed! Everyone should do this tour. Go sign up now!
Driss, our guide was great! Very knowledgeable about the region, a great driver and fun tour guide. We had three children with us (ages 9, 9, 12) and our first stop was a castle ruin. This was so much fun for the kids to climb up and learn about. We then went to a small olive oil factory which was interesting and a good snack and then on to Ronda and another town. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide! We all enjoyed ourselves and recommend highly!
Luis was a fantastic escort on our transfer from Seville to Granada. He went out of his way to drive us to the valley floor so we could see the bridge from below before we explored the town.
My husband and I took this tour so that we could see what was outside the "big cities". We were so glad that we did. Everything was great. Our driver and tour guide Aitor was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. He picked us up promptly at our hotel and we drove through the countryside to a couple of villages and to the city of Ronda. This is a great way to see another part of Spain. It was the best day in our whole trip. Thank you Aitor!!
It’s a great way to spend a day with family. You will do lots of walking so it’s not good for a handicapped person. The white villages are beautiful. Ronda was interesting. It was great to leave the driving to someone else!
the tour and guide, Aitor - were wonderful. We drove to two White Villages on our way to Ronda. Aitor was knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend both him and not just a tourist.
We had a fabulous day tour with Jose. He promptly picked us up from our hotel and drove us to two small beautiful towns and then to Ronda. He suggested places to see great views and drove us through gorgeous mountain roads. In Ronda, he brought us to a local tapas place, helped us order and then suggested a walk through town on our own. He also drove us into the valley for another great view of Ronda. Later, he gave us suggestions for our last evening in Seville.
What an amazing day we had on this tour with Gabrielle! He made this the most special memory with his knowledge of the area, the history of Spain and the personal touches. We had time to relax and move at our own pace in the villages were time seem to disappear. The landscape and views of the villages and Ronda are breathtaking! The wine tasting was a very good addition we thoroughly enjoyed. An unforgettable day with a very special guide. A must if you visit the area.
Our guides Gabriele and Antonia really made this day out a great experience. As a solo traveller going on the tour, both were extremely friendly and made me feel very welcome. Both had an extensive knowledge of the areas we were visiting which made the tour much more insightful! My favourite part of the day was the olive oil tasting, a heavily authentic experience and a definite must do if you are going to book this tour!
Carlos , my guide was right on time and unlike other companies I had reviewed ahead of time met me directly in the lobby and returned me there. He was curtious, had excellent English and was able to explain the history and geography of the Pueblo’s Blanco’s and Ronda. The car was clean and his driving very safe. This type of tour is exactly what one wants for that ‘personal ‘ touch so you end up with fantastic memories.
Aitor picked us up right on time at our hotel. We then drove to Zahara de la Sierra. All the while Aitor briefed us on the sights along the way and Spanish history and customs. The tour of the Olive Oil factory was fun and we had time to stop for coffee and conversation. We then went to Ronda where Aitor got us into a fantastic Tapas restaurant for lunch. The tour of Ronda made for a tremendous day. Aitor was knowledgeable and engaging. We would highly recommend him and this tour.
We have only been back from Spain for a few weeks, but the excursion to the white villages already stands out as one of the best memories of the three weeks we spent there. Our guide was excellent and went considerably out of her way to accommodate our sometimes unusual requests.
