It was a great tour of a very interesting palace. The tour guide gave a thorough background while intertwining current events into the history of the building. The staff was also flexible and accommodating to our needs.

Visiting the Dueñas Palace with Álvaro was, more than a tour, a brief foray into the memory of the place. With quiet scholarship and a way of narrating that seemed to open invisible doors, he turned every room into a story and every detail into a clue to the past. At the end of the visit, one suspects that the palace remains the same; but also that, thanks to Álvaro, it is now a little more infinite. Like any review, this is still a somewhat artificial construction: a few neat sentences after the experience. The visit, on the other hand, was simpler and more human: someone who knows a place well and knows how to tell it clearly.

We have delved into the entire history of this majestic palace, going through its beginnings to the present day, reviewing the history of one of the most relevant families in Spain. It has become very enjoyable and I have enjoyed! They were also fitting out the palace (with all the background noises that that entails) and at no time have I lost my thread and Alvaro has done everything possible to keep us in our little bubble of explanation!
