I booked a tour with Amigo Tours for the Real Alcazar in Seville at 09:00, and the experience was extremely disappointing. The day before our scheduled tour, we received a cancellation email in the afternoon. Their excuse was that they were missing our passport information, which we had already provided when we made the booking two weeks prior. They claimed to have tried reaching us through email and WhatsApp messages, but we never received any of these supposed communications. It's frustrating that they didn't double-check their records before canceling our tour. I called them an hour before the tour start time, as they're not reachable in the evening, and asked if we could still attend if I provided my passport details again. Their customer service was far from friendly, and they bluntly informed us that we couldn't attend. Overall, I would strongly advise against booking a tour with Amigo Tours. Their lack of communication, poor customer service, and cancellation without valid reason made for an unpleasant experience.

My sister, her husband and I arrived at the meeting point at 9am (meeting time was 9.15am and entry time was 9.30am). We waited in the area until 9.35am, before calling the agency to ask them about the whereabouts of our guide. Not only did they say that the guide came and went, they also said that the guide would not come back to give us the tour (again, it was 9.35am, entrance to the site is at 9.30am). For context, there were loads of groups around us which were being greeted by their guides, ours didn't even LOOK FOR US. We asked around, tried to locate her - she clearly made no effort, just came and left. No branding. No asking around. No getting in touch with us (she had our mobile numbers). Nothing. How could we know how to find them? On top of 1/ making zero efforts to find us and 2/ refusing to provide a service which we'd already paid for, THEY ALSO HAVE REFUSED TO ISSUE US A REFUND. We have lost in excess of 100 euros. Read some more reviews and you will see how much Amigo Tours steal from their customers. Not to be trusted.
Absolutely recommend this tour! Rosa was our guide and she was wonderful, highly knowledgeable of the city and Alcazar. Tour was perfect amount of time and you are able to continuing exploring the gardens and even walk through the palace again on your own once it ends.
Cannot say enough about the alcazar and cathedral tour. These two places are a must see in Sevilla. We booked our through our hotel w early tickets and in English. I hate that I don’t call the guide’s name but she was wonderful. The tour was through Poncho Tours and their office is a little hard to locate so start a little early.
Our guide, Rosa, absolutely made this visit something exceptional. Her English was the best of any guide we’ve had. Her passion was articulated in her dialogue about the palace. Yes, dialogue, because she welcomed our questions and discussed with us our curiosities and observations. This felt like an interactive tour vs just having a person tell you about a place. If you’re lucky enough to get her, you’ll have an incredible tour and come on people, tip an exceptional guide! Appreciating the great ones like Rosa might help preserve their enthusiasm for the future.
Our tour guide, Rosa, made all the difference. She was knowledgeable, passionate and was able to 'read' the group. We really enjoyed the experience. Thank you, Rosa.
We took the combined tour with the Alcazar and the Cathedral. Our guide Rosa was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She helped us get a better understanding of the local history and was able to answer our questions. She also pointed out to us good vantages points for photographs.
We missed this tour because we could not find our tour group anywhere. We went to the meeting spot but couldn’t find our tour. Not sure if they just left without us or if it never happened. We had to buy additional tickets on top of what we paid for this tour just to get in.
Our guide was excellent. We loved the story. So many details we would have missed without her. Of course the beauty of the Palace is breathtaking.
Very enjoyable tour, our guide Rosanne looked after her group very well. Great knowledge delivered in a friendly, accessible way made this a fab experience. Many thanks!
Was okay. Guide was a bit difficult to understand and provided the basics but didn't feel like she demonstrated a deep understanding of the history.
Our tour guide is very knowledgeable and with fluent English. Highly recommend this tour so you get to know the palace better.
It was our first visit to Seville and we took the combined Alcazar and Cathedral tour. Our guide Rosa was informative, paced both visits well and the time flew by. As both of these amazing Minho are crowded with visitors it was great to start at opening time. Well worth it.
The tour guide was good. He gave us the basic information of Alcazar. However, the tour was only a little over an hour, most of which was spent with him speaking Spanish. This was a mixed tour, Spanish & English which is ok. Except that he needed to repeat the info twice. For $37 I would’ve expected a longer tour, more information & not to combine the different language tours. They obviously did not have enough people for each tour so they put them together. I could’ve bought a ticket & rented the audio guide for a lot less.
Rosa our guide was great, enthusiastic and informative she showed us around at a nice pace happy to answer questions and engage with our small group. I felt we gained so much more with the benefit of a knowledgeable guide than others relying on the audio guide alone. Well worth the visit and certainly worth booking a guide.
The Royal Alcazar is one of those places where a knowledgeable guide makes all the difference. The 10th century palace with considerable enhancements in the 14th century, incorporates Muslim and Christian elements. But to appreciate what you are viewing; it's significance, it's original purpose, and why it is still important today requires an audioguide or, better yet, a real live human being with the knowledge and enthusiasm to bring Alcazar to life. Rosa was outstanding as our expert, enthusiastic historian guiding us through the palace. She was fun, patient, and energetic. The size of our party of 6 people was great. Easy to hear her descriptions and ask questions. We began at 3 pm. After a two and a half hour tour, we were allowed to stay and explore the gardens, which are spectacular, by the way. Do take the side walkway to get some perspective on the gardens. This tour is highly recommended.
I think everyone agrees that the Alcazar is a must see attraction while visiting Seville, so I will focus on why it is better to visit as part of the tour (1) If you do not pre-book the queues are huge (2) Our guide - Rosso - was very knowledgeable but just as important she was funny. Sometimes these tours can be a long list of names and dates which I increasing fail to take in. However, Rosso delivery style kept us engaged throughout. Also we were given headsets, so we could take photos while still listening to the guide. Thoroughly recommend and hopefully you will be lucky enough to have Rosso as your guide!
The guide Rosa was incredible, the passion and knowledge produced an amazing experience. I will recommend it to any person.
We went on the 17:15 tour with Rosa. It was a small group (7) so better and the place was much quieter by the end. You get to stay until about 19:45 so decent value. Rosa was a great guide- brilliant English, really interesting (certainly for me, I love history stuff) and informative about Seville in general. Definitely worth it- if I went again I would do a first tour of the day and stay as long as I could to go back around the Palace and maybe see upstairs. Thanks Rosa!
The Alcazar is stunning and the guide provided the group with wholesome explanations of every room. We skipped right through the line and into the palace without any issues. I cannot give it 5 stars because the guide, while knowledgeable and super friendly, needed a bit more of training in English. I am sure she will get there over time. I think everyone was thrilled with the place anyway! Overall, I recommend this tour.
Did Alcazar including the upstairs quarters. The upstairs quarters is limited to 20 people at a time. This is tightly controlled and admitted by ticket with timed entrance. This ticket also allows you to skip the line to enter the Alcazar. The upstairs quarters are fully furnished unlike the bottom floors. To me it far outshined the other portions of the palace. It includes the Cathedral but if you want something special do the Cathedral Roof Tour. Very interesting. Again you need to do this ahead of time because only 20 people go up on the roof with a guide for 90 minutes. Highly recommend both as stated.
We had a lovely tour and learnt lots about the history and significance of the Alcazar. A beautiful place to visit and beautiful gardens to explore at the end. Also skipping the line was great!
Vencento, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the palace and Seville and his tour made our first day in Seville!
A most convenient and informative tour. Our guide was on time and easy to locate with her blue umbrella at the meeting point. She was very knowledgeable and provided insight and the historical context of the Alcazar. She was able to answer questions we had about the Alcazar and recommended other places to visit that we might be interested in. The skip-the-line entry was very, very convenient. We highly recommend this tour and would use Amigo tours again if we are lucky enough to return to Seville! The only thing I will suggest is maybe a 2pm start time in the winter (afternoon tour starts at 3pm) so there will be enough time to linger inside the gardens.
Take your time and walk around with no hurry. Drink the coffee in the gardens! fanstastic place for photographers
First of all, it is essential to book a skip-the-line tour unless you want to queue for an hour or two. This attraction is very popular and the queues stretch a very long way. As for the tour, it is extremely interesting, the building itself is magnificent and the gardens are lovely too. Our tour guide, Rosa, was a joy - full of energy, information and humour. Thoroughly recommend.
We were very much looking forward to a guided tour of the Alcazar. Unfortunately, our tour was cancelled at the last minute because the guide was sick. While we understand that people get sick and appreciate how quickly our tickets were refunded, we were very disappointed that another guide wasn't available. We ended up waiting in line and getting an audioguide, but I'm quite sure an actual guided experience would have been better.
Thank you Rosa for a delightful and informative tour of the truly amazing Alcazar. This skip-the-line tour is the only way to go. Rosa offered so much insightful knowledge, everything ran on time, no waiting in queues in the hot sun and we had time to ask questions throughout.
I recently traveled to Sevilla and was looking for a tour through Alcazar. Vicente was a great guide and the entire group enjoyed his knowledgeable and friendly nature. The tour was the right amount of time , did not feel rushed and allowed us time to explore the gardens. I would definitely recommend this tour to any friend traveling to Sevilla.
Had an excellent tour at the Alcázar with Rosa during our stay in Seville. She was very attentive and knowledgeable about the history of the Alcázar, Seville and Spain.
Booked this tour the day before and everything went as arranged. Our guide Vincente gave us a thorough history of the city and the Alcazar and gardens. A great tour, there were 10 people on the tour, so easy to get around. The guide uses a microphone and each person has a head phone, so very easy to understand. Would highy recommend.
Unfortunately, this tour company nearly ruined our day in beautiful Seville. Our travel agent booked us for this tour well in advance and told us the time and location to meet our guide. Turns out, there was a miscommunication and the tour was supposed to be at 530pm instead of 315pm. That's OK, things happen. The customer service representative explained when I called and asked us to return to the same meeting spot at 515pm in time for the 530pm tour. I also confirmed the meeting place with him. We went and had lunch and saw the Cathedral, and were done in plenty of time to get back to the agreed upon meeting spot. At 5pm we were sitting at the correct meeting spot. When 515 rolled around., we looked around for anyone who might be a guide and saw no one but the purple-shirted Free Tours guides. No one else in the plaza was identified in any way as being a tour guide--no logo shirt or umbrella or sign as other tour companies have. At 530 pm there were still no tour guides around and I called. I was told that the guide had already left at 520 pm without us because "we weren't there!" WE HAD BEEN SITTING IN THE RIGHT MEETiNG SPOT since 5pm!! There was no apology from the customer service representative, no offer to try and make things right. If indeed a tour guide ever was on site, why did he/she not make an effort to find paid customers who had actually called in and rearranged their day to make an alternate time? The plaza where we were to meet was not that large; couldn't the guide have asked the few people sitting around if they were on the tour, or called out "Amigo Tours!" as an identifier? Is holding a small sign too much to ask when you're meeting up with people you don't know? I've demanded a refund...let's see if this unprofessional company can get that done.
I normally cringe at the idea of booking a formal tour, but this was a winner. Our tour group was very small which allowed us time to dig deeper into the history and symbolism of the Alcazar, and have a lot of fun doing it. Our tour guide (Vicente) was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and charismatic - spoke impeccable English. Wonderful tour! I'll forever see Moorish architecture differently from now on.

A very informative tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and told us everything in a very interesting way. We learned a lot about the moors and Christians and the Alcazar was great.

Our guide, Rosa, made this visit truly great! She was knowledgeable and enthusiastic giving my wife and I a real feel for the history of a great location along with the interaction of two great civilizations.

My schedule was moved to the morning, but it turned out to be better since that meant the place wasn't too crowded yet. Our guide, Maria, was very good. Our group was small, which really allowed us to enjoy the palace. Definitely worth skipping the line.

Transmitía pasión y conocimientos como no he visto. Gracias. Parecía estar en película histórica
Buen recorrido, hermoso lugar , no hay colas Es mejor ir con guía Nosotros hicimos una a través de muse mente con un poco de engaño en el precio
