Mercer Plaza Sevilla 5 Gl

This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel and we paid 5 star rates. Junior Suite room was excellent. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful all the time. Where this hotel failed miserably was the restaurant and bar service - not enough staff to keep up with terrace, patio and inside guests especially in the bar. It was tough to get service. We sat for 2 hours and the dishes from previous guests were still there the whole time. It also does not have a proper restaurant. The only menu is a Brunch menu from 9-9 every day. There are no tapas or light dishes for snacking on in the bar. While we were there the toilet in ladies washroom on the lobby floor was not working properly with flooding on the floor. The next day it was still not working with no notice to not use it. Where was maintenance? I hope they can fix this because it is a beautiful property.

In general I’d say save your money and stay at H10- Casa de Plata, it’s even closer to the center and the staff were warm welcoming and so kind. My saga is below if you need my reasons why the Mercer isn’t worth it: I asked for a recommendation for where to buy something the folks in the reception area sorta laughed at me like it was impossible to find what I wanted and the only place I could go was Corte ingles which is far and closed in 20 min, I walked outside and around the corner and found the exact thing—Which was a shirt for a kid with fifa World Cup espana written on it. I come back and I’m like I found it and one of them goes “that’s not for you right” and I’m realizing also she’s calling me fat and telling me that small shirt won’t fit me. Like lady it’s obviously for a child are you ok? Then they offered my a welcome drink I went and sat at the bar —I’m the only one in there. The bartender comes in and makes the drink but stands on the opposite side of the bar and doesn’t acknowledge me beyond taking the ticket and handing me the drink. The drink itself was like a sugary concoction that was actually in drinkable, if beautiful. I went to my room after a long day of travel ready to take a shower I waited for 10 min and it was clear they had run out of hot water. Freezing cold shower which would have been fine if the hotel room was warm but the hotel was also very very cold (which was welcome it was 100 degrees outside) but after cooling off all I wanted was a warm shower to get into bed cozy, instead shivered into bed and when I went to put the slippers on the room there was some sort of insect on it. Later in the morning I also found a trail of ants on my slippers coming from I don’t know where next to the bed. Honestly horrible experience I told the front desk people the next day and they just we are so sorry. Not really enough when you’re ment to be a 5-star. Very weak showing. I will say the room service was very good although they do not do a show set up like some places would.

Central location: close to everything yet quiet. Beautiful establishment, well-designed. The staff are incredible, especially reception. Wow. I had one of the best vacations because of the people that work here. They will go out of their way to help you. Thank you.

Every aspect was 10 stars! Right in the the center of Sevilla offering easy access to everything a tourist needs! Beautiful spacious room Gador at the reception was a gem, she helped us with some great advice on where to eat as we had specifical dietary needs. Entire team was lovely
