Location- in the sticks. Its a Safari Lodge. Lovely place, well maintained. Staff are always smiling, helpful and ready to give you a hand. Food was just great. You had a bit of Continental, Indian and Swahili food such as ugali, marage (kidney beans 🫘). Food was good. Go on a Safari and lodge at the various Serena Lodges.
We absolutely loved our stay here! The location was incredible — we were lucky enough to have elephants and buffalo right outside on our terrace, which was such a magical experience. The views from our room were absolutely spectacular. The check-in process was smooth, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and we loved the lovely little balconies. The lounge and bar area was cosy and welcoming, with a great selection of drinks, and the food was fantastic throughout our stay. The whole team were wonderful, but a special mention must go to Stanley, who was absolutely outstanding and took such great care of us. His service and attention to detail really made our stay extra special. One unique touch is that you are escorted to your room at night, just in case of wildlife — a reminder of how wonderfully wild and special the location is! Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and would happily return. A truly unforgettable experience with incredible views, wonderful staff, fantastic food and amazing wildlife right on the doorstep.
Well located lodge with good rooms and amenities. The local wildlife is enjoyable to watch: Dik-Dik, Sterlings and Hornbills use the gardens at their pleasure. One person in our party had an issue that required the on-site doctor who was extremely helpful and got us out of a tough spot. It's great that this service is provided by the lodge.
Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge gets a lot right while still leaving room for improvement. Let’s start with the positives. The location is fantastic. Wildlife roams around the property so that’s awesome. Also, the view from the pool is an amazing. The staff members are welcoming and incredibly fun. The meals were excellent with authentic African dishes alongside international options. The rooms are comfortable and the entire property feels perfectly positioned for safari adventures. This isn’t ultra-luxury, but it doesn’t need to be. It succeeds because of its atmosphere, location, and people. Unfortunately, our final impression wasn’t as positive. On our last day, our safari vehicle experienced a mechanical issue. Despite having an on site mechanic available, the lodge declined to assist. Our guide was left scrambling to find help elsewhere, and we ended up driving a significant distance to resolve the problem. It was disappointing to see such limited support given the circumstances. The experience suggested a not our problem approach that didn’t match the warmth shown during the rest of our stay. I travel to get away from this attitude but I’m afraid Profit Over People is a world wide thing now.
