Good food and good chef Staffs are friendly Rooms are OK they have been there long enough need to be refurbished Jacuzzi not working But to be honest great location at night you could hear buffalo or elephants grazing this brings a true sense of being in the wild, roaring lions and hyenas really brings back my memories of the old good days as a kid being grown up around the serengeti district as kids we could always pay a visit to these properties for lunch or dinner arrangement by Tanapa to promote good relationships between tanapa and the villages surrounding the serengeti National Park Pupils or kids of that times including myself did good in exams as a return we were offered this opportunity! It really encouraged me to study hard so I could become someone in the hospitality industry, and today here iam, it is a dream come true 👍

Superb location, with an amazing view over Serengeti! It is also a historical site, as it was built back in 1968-1971 by Nyerere, inside the park where constructions are generally forbidden. You can see lots of hyraxes and klipspringer antelopes fooling around in the premises, as well as baboons. The rooms and amenities are a little bit run down, but it is certainly worth staying there a night or two. Recommended.
The lodge is situated on top of a hill. The view from the rooms are fabulous. The lodge seems to have carved out a hill. The food is good with a wide choice. The staff is very polite. The rooms are a bit small but made entirely of Wood. The bar is decorated beautifully.
What an amazing gem this place is! This is an amazing location to stay, especially if you plan to see a Mara River crossing during the Great Migration. The architecture is SO COOL, built on top of a large rock while seamlessly integrating the bare rock into the design of the common areas. It’s really giving 1960s safari fantasy. There are adorable Rock Hyrax running around all over. They are soooo cute to watch, and they won’t ever bother you. The pool deck is an incredible place yo enjoy a cocktail and gaze out over the vast savannah. This was a daily activity each day coming back from safari. There are also some lovely viewing spots for sunset and star gazing in the evenings. The food was very good compared to the previous lodge we were in (around Karatu). Whether buffet or made to order the food was always enjoyable and satisfying. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They made our stay really feel amazing. The rooms are just okay. Pretty bland and the beds are SUPER firm. There are also a lot of small things that could use some fixing and TLC to really take this place to the next level (loose shower head holder, many lights on the pool deck are out, etc.) The hotel runs on a diesel generator for electricity so the power and hot water aren’t turned on until 6pm, which was sometimes a little frustrating, but not a huge issue.
You must stay here destination if you are in Northern Serengeti. Amazing location on top of rocky mountain provides great view. There are very comfortable rooms, outdoor pool with viewpoint terrace and restaurant. Friendly and supportive staff, delicious meals. Highly impressive architecture made of stone, wood and glass create unique experience.
