Our tour guide was awesome but the tour itself was bit long , expect lot of walking. Weather was extremely hot the day we went. As part of the tour package our tour guide took us to a local restaurant and food was delicious. Tour guide was from this area so she was so knowledgeable about the area . Driver was extremely patient Overall it was a good experience.

The first stop will be the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress which was constructed to perform the commercial and military function during the Joseon Dynasty. This construction was built using advanced technology such as a crane in 1796. Now, Suwon Hwaseong Fortress is designated as a UNESCO World heritage site. Your guide will share expert commentary about this construction.
After having lunch, head to the Korean folk village and explore many of the traditional Korean customs. Enjoy some leisure time and explore places such as the Joseon Period Houses. In addition, see traditional workshops and enjoy the beautiful houses set in a natural environment.
Continue by coach towards the Ginseng center. Ginseng is good for tiredness, loss of appetite, sickness and many other illnesses. Enjoy a ginseng tasting and buy some ginseng products if you like.
Conclude your tour back at your centrally located hotel in Seoul.

Sally was our tour guide and was very knowledgeable in Korean history and gave us great context and information for all the places we visited. It was beautiful to see Korean culture and restored architecture and was a calm escape from the bustle of Seoul.
Very knowledgable guide. Explained history in detail .
Sally was great! Very informative and catered to our group!
Wonderful immersive and educational experience. It’s like a Time Machine to Joseon dynasty. Lizzy was a great guide super friendly and knowledgeable.
We had a great time! Lloyd Shin was a great guide- he was kind, informative and gave us a very memorable experience!
Our tour guide Joon was very interesting and his passion for history is evident, you can't help but be engaged in his stories. He mixed in overall history, the politics of the time and even a bit of BTS 😀. Really enjoyed this tour and felt like I learnt something. I would recommend.
This was a fun tour. We saw the fortress, learned some history and then visited the Korean Folk Village for lunch and a bit more interactive history. Our tour guide Yeomi was amazing. She was full of inspiration and knowledge and was very friendly.
Daria was our tour guide and was awesome. Great experience visiting the fortress and knowing the history behind it. The folk village was also great to experience the Korean culture.
The guide was great! It was great to have my kids learn about Korean past and customs. I wish we had more time at the Korean vollage.
Amazing visit had been made. Interesting things to see around Hwaseong Fortress and lovely views at Korean Folk Village Tour. Our tour guide Youn is very professional to provide hospitality during our visit. For overall view, it is a wonderful journey instead.
Our luck had the tour just to ourselves! Anna was a lovely guide, spoke very well English and had loads of information of the sites to share.
I was very excited to join this tour and happy they tour operator could accommodate me as a single traveler and go along with another group. The fortress itself is rather nothing that spectacular if I'm honest. The show at the palace was very good and happy to see that along with how they lived in the past. The folk village was very interesting, but extremely disappointing the tour guide cut the time short. Much more time was needed there because after lunch, there was plenty to explore. The guide said we were suppose to go to one more destination, but they cancelled the tour early due to traffic excuse, so effectively what was meant to be an entire day, was only 3/4 of a day. I would suggest just take the train to the village and spend a day there, especially if you have a family.
The folk village is the equivalent of Sovereign Hill. Historical houses and beautiful gardens. A pleasure to look at. Great education for young and old. Can spend a few hours there. The fortress wasn't as exciting
We joined this tour on July 5, 2018. We had a great day with Chance, a very knowledgeable tour guide who made sure we had a full and enjoyable day, always a story to tell and an interesting fact to share. Was a very enjoyable day.
We took this full day tour. The pick up from the Hotel was exactly on time. A small group of only 8 of us in the mini van with a Guide. We were not satisfied with the Guide. She had limited knowledge about the fortress and the temporary Palace. She was visiting the Fortress after one year! The tour includes the 'trolley in the fortress', as it is a vast area and would be very tiresome to cover all the grounds on foot. The surroundings and the grounds are lush green and well maintained. (if you are on your own, do check the free 'shows/acts' that they have; inquire at the ticket counter). The Palace is a small one, as it was a temporary one of the King. Though well maintained and clean. The trolley tour around the fortress has the facility of a commentary in 4 languages. But you have to bring your own ear plug. The fortress grounds are in the city itself and the fort is not an independent / self enclosed within wall boundaries. City roads run in and around the fort boundary walls. The Korean Folk Village is a must visit. (in the Suwan township). About 15 - 20 minutes drive from the fort. It has been built as a tourist attraction about 40 yrs back. And interesting to visit. Do not miss the free local dance shows and other performances. When we visited, the time was between 2 pm to 4 pm. With a performance every half hour. Our Guide did not permit us to see all the shows. Which was very disappointing and sad. As after this, it was a visit to the Ginsen showroom in Seoul city. Which can be missed or shortened. If you are on this tour, insist to see the shows from 2 pm to 330pm. The local cuisine lunch at Suwan was good. I had a local veg dish - bibimbap. It was better here than the one I had in Seoul. The Ginsen showroom in Seoul is of a local business house. A very posh and lavish office building and showroom. The interesting part of this visit was getting knowledge and understanding of the Ginsen medicinal plant, as to, how it is grown and its various varieties. It is an expensive product. So, I feel, one should do an independent research as to where to buy from and what brand. At the airport we saw that Samsung also sells Ginsen. An enjoyable day. Though it was a warm day in Seoul

This tour was really enjoyable and interesting. We did it early in our trip to Korea and our guide, Jason, gave us so much information about Korean history and culture that was really valuable for the rest of our trip. Jason was fantastic and really knowledgeable. We got to wander around both the fortress and the village. We tried archery at the fortress. My son’s favourite was the traditional festival dancing at the folk village. I liked the folk museum display. The traditional lunch was great.

The guide was very knowledgeable and we had a good contact. It was actually a very personal trip since we were the only participants so we could ask as many questions as we wanted. There was a lot to see at the Fortress but best part was Villagers performance at Korean Folk Village and I highly recommend seeing that.

We had a great fun on our tour thanks to an amazing guide Yeoni. I learned a lot about history and architecture of Korea while visiting Hwaseong Fortress & Korean Folk Village. The lunch was perfectly organized because in very friendly atmosphere we could taste traditional Korean cuisine prepered by highly talented chef.

We had a really good day with Brian. It was a very cold day at the fortress, snowing. Brian gave us lots of information, he was friendly and cheerful. Lunch was really good and hot which was great for such a cold day. The Korean folk village was interesting. As there were so few people at the village due to the cold and mid week, we got to see lots very quickly. All up a very interesting tour and great to get out a bit from central Seoul.

Our guide was nice. hwaseong fortress and korean folk village were ok. However, at the end he took us to ginseng center. That place was a total tourist trap. They're basically trying to sell you ginseng. We waited 1 hour there. I felt like our time was wasted.

If you want ginseng, i guess you should do this tour. If not, STAY AWAY.

The tour was everthing promised, we were picked up on time, arrived and got very interesting explanations about Hwasong fortress. Later we had a good lunch and a 2 hour tour of a folk village, including shows. The guide was great, both nice anf knowledgeable. My schedule does not allow for more tourism but I can fully recommend
