The 3rd Tunnel is the third of its kind built by North Korea for the purpose of invading South Korea. It was discovered in 1978. Among the four tunnels located so far, it is closest to Seoul (about 52 km). It has a total length of 1.6 km and a width of 2 m. It is estimated that nearly 30,000 personnel can move through the tunnel every hour. Visitors to the 3rd Tunnel must reserve the tour in advance. The tour starts from the Imjingak Pavilion. All visitors are required to bring their identification, such as passports or Alien Registration Card (ARC).
Dora Observatory is the closest DMZ observatory to Panmunjeom. From Dora Observatory, one can see not only the Panmunjeom but also the village of Daeseong-dong within the DMZ, mountains and farmlands on the North Korean side, and the city of Gaeseong, a North Korean city and the historic capital of Goryeo (918-1392). Individual visits are not allowed. The observatory can only be accessed through the DMZ Peace Tour, which embarks from Imjingak Pavilion after reservation. All visitors are required to bring their identification, such as passports or Alien Registration Card (ARC).

We had a great experience visiting Starbucks while enjoying the unique view of North Korea. Our guide, Alex, was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and made the visit both informative and enjoyable. The Starbucks staff were also welcoming, friendly, and accommodating, which made the experience even better. Overall, it was a memorable visit and one we would highly recommend.
It was nice and interesting, happy to be there
This is an unforgettable trip in DMZ. Our guide Won is very friendly and knowledgeable.
Our tour guide Jung was incredibly insightful and gave myself and my friends a much better historical understanding during our tour. I really enjoyed this tour and recommend to anyone considering travelling in Seoul, especially the DMZ tour.
Thank you Sophia for a well organised tour. Lots of information and love that you had our small group timed to be just before all the large tour buses.
Very informative, tunnel was great, saw a lot of different things, very easy to do. Tour guide Sophia was great and explained things nicely.
It's was a good experience here. Our guide Unice shared some info about both sides of Korea. I would highly recommend taking this trip if you want to learn more about the Korea war and the DMZ zone.
We spent the day with our guide, Eunice, and had a wonderful experience. She was incredibly kind, personable, and took the time to explain everything clearly. Her warmth and knowledge really made our day special and memorable!
Enjoyed ce was a great host and informative, we really enjoyed our tour. The DMZ is really interesting. The private tour was efficient.
Very good tour guide who had lots of interesting stories about the history of the DMZ. The tour itself is also very fascinating and being able to catch a glimpse of NK is definitely a tick off the bucket list.
Eunice was hands down the highlight of our DMZ tour—thoughtful, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable. From the moment we met her, she made us feel like we were in good hands, weaving personal stories and historical context into every stop in a way that made the experience feel intimate and real. She answered every question with patience and insight, and her passion for the subject really shone through. What could have felt like a heavy or overwhelming day turned into something moving, eye-opening, and even uplifting—all thanks to Eunice. We walked away not just better informed, but genuinely touched.

Eunice was an amazing tour guide… she was extremely knowledgeable and patient with our questions, and provided a little comic relief too. She really made our last day in Seoul.
Eunice was a great guide, very informative, and able to answer all our questions and more! Highly recommend for first time Seoul visitors and people interested in Korean War history.
I traveled solo to Seoul and Mimi made the tour with my small group so memorable and fun! Truly a once in a lifetime experience to see the DMZ and everything was so well organized. She was knowledgeable and took photos to remember the trip. I highly recommend taking a tour with Mimi if you get the chance!
The tour was really good. A little hectic, but worth the money. The tour guide Mimi was very courteous and well spoken. She took care to explain all the details when required.
I had an incredible experience touring the DMZ during my visit to South Korea! I also crossed the bridge, which was another highlight of the trip. Tip: If you’re planning to do the tunnel tour and you’re over 6 feet tall, be sure to stretch beforehand to avoid straining your back. After descending 350 feet, there’s a section where you’ll need to walk while bending to avoid hitting your head (they do provide a construction helmet). Whenever you find a spot where you can stand upright, take advantage of it—it really helped me reduce strain on my back. Overall, it’s an unforgettable experience and a great workout too!
We had a thoroughly successful, intensive tour from about 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM. First, we went by minibus to the first stops before joining a larger group in a tour bus for the DMZ. Always accompanied by our guide who spoke English very well. After that, we continued our program relaxed in our small group (there were five of us) in the minibus. The stops were brief and precisely timed, and no time was wasted. Especially the Aegibong Park was an absolute highlight – since we were there in the afternoon, we could fully enjoy the tranquility away from the tourist crowds. The view of North Korea is significantly better here. A huge thank you goes to our guide Won: She was incredibly dedicated and answered all our questions in detail.
