We had a great time; really enjoyed the conversation and the insights on Korea as the discussion went on, regardless of the really fun selections of sojus to try! Also got some great restaurant recommendations at the end which was helpful since there was nothing else on the books for that neighborhood going in

Good experience learning how solutions is made in korea and getting to taste the diffrent flavors...
The soju tasting was really good fun. Sam was brilliant. Super knowledgeable, great communicator and a good sense of humour. Would recommend!
This was tour was so interesting! The history and modern process of distilling soju was fascinating. Sam was very conversational and knowledgeable! My two sons and I enjoyed this very much. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Just do it, if you like soju, you are going to enjoy this. I've done other such tastings in Korea and other countries, and this was one of the best. Book it if you like soju, learning, or drinking. Also Sam is hilarious. Would recommend with a group.
Sam was amazing. The session was informative and in depth. Not very hard to find. Sam is very knowledgeable and welcoming.
Wonderful time! Sam was super knowledgeable and friendly. Was a blast tasting all the different sojus and seeing the process. He also gave lots of great recommendations for things in the area. 100% would recommend.
Sam gave a hugely entertaining and informative presentation on the process of making soju and the history of the Three Pigs Distillery. We loved all of the sojus we tried. I recommend this experience for anyone interested in soju or spirits in general. Thanks to Sam also for the great restaurant recommendations!
Sam was a great person and was friendly as well as knowledgeable and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the evening, it was a fun group of people who attended! Sam not only held a great tour but we had a great broader conversation on life and travel and other things, Needless to say it was a very lovely evening, he then recommended our group a great spot for local food for dinner nearby, which we all really needed after the amount of amazing Soju we had.
A fun and interesting foray into the world of soju. Sam did a great job of balancing the info with the drinking, so it didn't just feel like a museum visit, or a trip to a bar. The soju is strong but tasty and it was cool to learn about the process.
Very informative tasting where you get to see the actual process of making Soju at the three pigs distillery. Sam was a great teacher and he definitely knew a lot about Soju. At the end you get to taste seven different Sojus and even taste the soju before it's fermented.
I had a great time..Sam was the perfect host. The distillery tour was very interesting and the tasting part was a highlight. It was informal and fun, it was like we were all just hanging out. I would recommend this to anyone curious about soju.
We did it in June 2025 when visiting Seoul. We had the best time and the soju was amazing! Highly recommended 😊
The soju tasting was a great experience thanks to Sam! Our family felt Sam's English was very easy to understand. It was clear he was very knowledgeable on the history of soju and is heavily involved in the brewing process at this location. We appreciated the wide variety of tastes varying in alcohol strength. Another positive is that you're able to buy bottles of soju to take with at the end if you'd like, but there wasn't any sales pressure. Highly recommend Sam and this soju tasting while visiting Seoul!
Sam was incredibly knowledgeable about soju and also gave us great information and recommendations for our stay in Seoul. Would definitely recommend especially early on in a trip.
Awesome time. Highly recommend. Very memorable experience. Sam was great and gave us a great education and fun time.
I really enjoyed the whole experience. Getting to know how Soju is made and it's history and then trying to many different types. The host was very patient. He answered everyone's questions diligently. It felt like a bunch of friends conversing about Soju.
Amazing tour/experience with Sam at his distillery. Really casual and easy going. Expert knowledge and amazing Soju produced by them (Three Pigs) As a Soju lover this really opened my field of vision to beyond the typical green bottles. Would 100% recommend this tour/experience to anyone who is slightly interested in soju or local liqueur
Really cool experience with delicious drinks and interesting facts about soju and surrounding traditions. Sam was a very welcoming, funny and knowledgeable host. Worth it even if you're not already a massive fan of soju!
Had such a grea time and ended up learning stuff I had no idea abour. Sam is great at explaining everything and does takes the time to answer to everyone's questions.
Had a great time learning about and tasting what real soju is compared to what’s in our local grocery stores. Sam was really easy to talk to and is really kind! Highly recommend!
A really fun and fantastic experience! Low key and no frills, but a unique experience and good starter for our trip to teach us a bit about Korean spirits! Sam our host was great! Knowledgeable and entertaining.
We had such a great time with Sam at the soju tasting! We went in only knowing about the green bottle “soju” and left with so much more knowledge about the real soju. The atmosphere was intimate with only 6 other guests. Sam was easy-going and open to questions about soju and beyond, including Korean culture and society, best spots to eat, best places to drink, etc. We loved the unique experience so much that we purchased a bottle to go!
This was such a fun activity to do! Sam is a fantastic host and explain the Soju process very well. We loved hearing about the historical context as well. The best part was the conversation that flowed between our group and Sam as we enjoyed our Soju tasting. He was happy to talk to us about South Korean culture and answer any questions we had. To top it off Sam even gave us a detailed list of recommendations for dinner afterwards. Can’t say enough great things about this experience! So memorable.
I highly recommend this experience if you want to taste real, genuine soju and talk with people who are genuinely passionate about the art of soju making. This is an authentic distillery experience. It's in a crowded, no frills, bare bones basement with equipment neatly crammed in and brewing taking place around you as you talk. The room smells of yeast. The walls are bare concrete. The soju makers are here to make soju, not to mess around. They have been making this recipe for over 600 years. Don't expect a wine tasting in a wood panelled tasting room with soft music. People are in professional gear, not pretty uniforms with logos. This guys are legit and so is the soju! Highly recommended.
Sam was an incredible and informative host. He was very personable and taught us so much about Soju and Korean culture. We are so grateful to have done this tasting.
"Our Soju tasting experience at a distillery in Seoul was truly fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed delving into the intricate process of how Soju is made and understanding the subtle differences between the various kinds. As expected, some of the spirits packed a punch and weren't quite my cup of tea, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed others. We even picked up a bottle to savor later! This is a genuine taste of Seoul that you'd be hard-pressed to find back home, making it a truly memorable part of our trip."
We had a great time tonight learning about the history of soju, and Korean culture surrounding soju. The distillery shows tourists every aspect of the process from rice all the way to wine, and finally soju. Ask any question, and you will get the answer! Experiencing the different flavors from infancy to a polished soju was our favorite part! We left with 3 bottles to take home to relatives as special gifts! We sure hope they share some! 😁
The soju tasting with Sam was really interesting! He’s a lot of fun and a great teacher. His passion for his work really shows, and it was a pleasure to listen to him. The soju and makgeolli we tasted were both excellent. I definitely recommend this experience!
The tour really broke our perception of Soju and let us try (and buy) some really unique alcohol. The guide also shared about some of the history behind the current perception of Soju!
Great knowledge and tasting of different levels and tastes of soju. I feel company could get more customers with improved marketing and aesthetics.
Sam was very friendly and knowledgeable about the Soju making process. We got to see in progress fermentation and the final product was exceptional. The Soju was much higher proof than the green bottles you find around Seoul but Sam's method is the traditional way. We pickep up a bottle of the Mandirin flavor, it was phenomenal. We'll be going back in a few years to taste the newly started aged Soju.
Amazing experience! We learned so much not only about the Soju, but also about the Korean culture!!!
Had the absolute best time at Sam’s soju tasting! From start to finish, it was clear how passionate and knowledgeable Sam is about Korean spirits and culture. Each pour came with a great story or fun fact, and the range of flavors we tried was incredible — from classic smooth soju to unique fruit infusions I’d never even heard of before. Sam created such a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Whether you're a soju newbie or a seasoned sipper, you'll learn something new and have a great time doing it. Can’t recommend this experience enough — already looking forward to the next one!
We've always enjoying drinking Soju straight as well as mixing it with beer (Somaek) but learning the history of soju, how it is made, from beginning to end, and seeing it fermenting in the barrels, has only increased our appreciation of soju. Sam was very knowledgeable and we tasted several varieties of soju, including one with a Jeju influence. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it is definitely worth making time for it!
This was a really great experience. Sam was very knowledgeable and passionate about soju, and we learnt a lot of interesting things and tasted some delicious soju. Sam was super friendly and helpful as well.
Very nice experience with Sam explaining the history and methods of soju. The experience is in an actual distillery and we found that very neat.
Such a fun experience! Sam was very knowledgable on the entire process, paused to answer any questions and he was super friendly as well. I will 100% recommend this activity
A very enjoyable experience! Sam is an amazing host! He guides you through discovering soju, starting with its history and production process, and continues with a tasting session. Highly recommended, even if you’re traveling alone!
For Hallyu foodie fans who want to understand a bit more about "real soju" , how it's made and what the good stuff tastes like with decent sampling sizes (careful, ABV is high :) Sam speaks excellent English and is able to explain the process in a layman's way, dotted with his own stories and humour. The sojus are excellent and my favourite was the puer tea soju. Highly recommended!
Sam was amazing. I learned a lot and drank a lot! We went through the process of making Soju as well as Korean culture and history. Sam also gave an amazing list of recommendations afterwards.
The soju tasting was a really fun activity! We went as a group of friends and we’re probably the youngest out of all the participants 😂 But it was a very comfortable atmosphere and Sam was a great host! We learned how Soju is made and what is so special about the three pig soju. The tasting was especially fun because the soju was a lot stronger than we anticipated 😂
Sam is a great host. He explains how soju is made but also told us about Korean manners and culture. He also gave us great tips for our trip. I highly recommend this experience
Very interesting and enjoyable experience. It allowed us to get a better understanding of the wonderful world of soju and, more generally, Korean culture. Sam is an exceptional guide with a great passion for sharing his culture. Highly recommended!
It was a great experience: a real dive into how traditional Korean liquors are maid as well a warm cultural exchange. Lots of insights about Korean culture and spirits. Sam is a great host and all of the sojus are great, every guest even bought a bottle:)
Very informative review of soju history and process overview. A number of tastings provided, with great tips on the proper way to pour, toast, and sip! Sam was an excellent host. He even went the extra mile and recommended restaurants in various areas of Seoul. (His recommendation for the BBQ restaurant down the street from the tasting location was spot on! Best meal of the trip for me.)
So much fun! Sam was very entertaining as well as being very informative about the history and making of three pigs soju. Super interesting activity with some very strong alcohol involved!
Sam was a great host. He was very knowledgeable in the making of soju and makgeolli. We really enjoyed the tasting event. We would give him a 10 out of 10.
I actually went in June of 2023 but I have apparently left this review for so long that's no longer an option. Whoops! Anyways, this tour made an incredible impact on me and was one of (if not the) coolest experience I had in Seoul. Sam was incredibly knowledgeable and I learned so much history. I've done a ton of beer tours and a few regional brewing and distilling tours like champagne or Bohls but this was hands down THE BEST. 10/10 would recommend. Genuinely cannot give this a better review!
An interesting and fun introduction to soju making, very different taste than industrially made store bought soju. The tasting includes seven different soju-s with added special aromas.
