Seoul: Suwon Hwaseong & Waujeongsa & Starfield Heritage Tour

Our guide, Phillip, was a joy and fun. Good sense of humor balanced with good knowledge of Korean history in providing background info on the historical sites and temple. He was well organized and ensure everyone knew meeting times & locations. Tour was very enjoyable and highly recommended.

Visited 3 sight-seeing spots in 10 hours and you don't feel kind of rush. Our guide Jin is helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating

We had a wonderful day with Simon. Simon is an amazing story teller and was also really knowledgeable about the places we visited. We experienced a great deal and loved our time. High points for us were the Fortress in Suwannee and the Waujeongsa Temple in Yongin. We had a wonderful day and recommend the tour.

Philip is a great tour guide has lots of interesting knowledge on Korean history and culture is very attentive to his visitors as quite a few elderly people and many steps to ascend a truly a memorable trip not to be missed

The tour stops are a public non admission palace, a mall, a sewer creek, and a Buddhist temple. The guide was argumentative and was by far our worst tour guide in Korea. We had t lo even stop for fuel as didn’t have gas to make the tour, then complained about time continuously.

The tour was very informative, guided and very smooth. Our tour guide Simon is very accomodating, he is so patient, and It really shows he loves his work very much, he always smiles and answer all our question.

The trip was great, the pick up was on time, the views were nice, the temples surprisingly rich in contrast to the seul's main ones. Simon was a great guide.

We had such a wonderful experience on today’s tour! Everything was very well organized, and Simon was absolutely fantastic. He worked incredibly hard to make sure everyone was comfortable and taken care of, and was extremely friendly, helpful, and reliable. His English was excellent, and you could really see how dedicated he is to his job. The scenery was beautiful as well — it was such a nice escape from Seoul and a chance to enjoy a completely different, peaceful side of Korea. We highly recommend this tour, and especially Simon! I had an absolutely excellent excursion with Peter Pan. First it was great value for money but the activities and Peter were excellent. I discovered lots about Korean history and culture. The length was perfect and the minibus very comfortable. I’m glad I booked as it took a lot of the planning for a day trip to Suwon out of my hands. I really recommend booking onto this tour.

Simon was brilliant throughout the tour. Very knowledgeable, as well as full of fun facts and a good sense of humor. He took really good care of us throughout the day, communicated really well, and shared lots of tips to make our trip to Seoul memorable. We had a beautiful experience in Suwon and Waujeongsa temple with our guide Peter. He gave us insight of Korean history in a clear and funny way. The visit was shortened a bit because of the hot weather and we appreciated it a lot! Would definitely recommend it :)

This trip went to three picturesque sights and a lengthy (but welcomed due to the heat) lunch stop at a mall. Jeff, our guide, offered great explanations and did what he could to keep us cool. A great day!

We had a great time and our guide was awesome.

We were a group of 24 of various ages and mainly fit. This tour is moderately paced and you’ll clock in at least 15,000 steps. If you have a mobility issue like climbing steep steps, walking across 4 or 5 square stones along a brook for example, then consider a less challenging tour. Touring the fortress is quite a feat. Our original tour we booked was modified due to lack of interest meaning the Temple tour was not included. We were given an option to receive a refund or join the tour without having to pay additional fees. Overall, this tour was pretty good. Our guide Jeff was informative and kept the group engaged. He was very helpful in answering our questions and seeing to our needs. I give him 5 stars. I need to add as a friendly reminder to please introduce the driver at the beginning of the tour. Perhaps this was done with the first group that were picked up but not with us who were the second group to be picked up. I have a few suggestions for K ONE TRAVEL: Please provide bottled water at least one per participant. That day was very warm and humid. Most tours I took over the years provided bottled water. Actually, the Seoul City Tour (operated by another travel agency) provided cold bottled water. Consider using whispers so that all participants can hear the tour guide. Some in the group lag behind taking pictures or are slower than others and miss what the guide is saying,

Nice trip to complement the iconic sites in Seoul. It is run little pali pali ( quickly quickly) but gives sufficient time to get a picture of the places and a story behind them. Worth going.

Jeff our guide was just lovely, friendly and very knowledgeable. The bus was comfortable and the driver did a great job. We enjoyed the whole day. We highly recommend to book this trip.

This tour was awesome. Tour guide Simon provided good info on each site covered: the very tranquil and unique temple in Suwon, Starfield library, fortress, then the palace where he went into the history. Because of the rain, he changed the itinerary order to make the itinerary better and time efficiently. He’s also went above and beyond gave us more information for other places to visit and restaurants. Definitely recommend this tour!

As this trip was identified as a "heritage" focus , I don't see why 2 hrs was spent at the Starfield Mall -Suwon?

My 7 year old daughter and I had a great experience with Simon as our tour guide. At first I was worried how my daughter would handle a tour, but she loved it! It was my daughter’s first ever tour and she enjoyed learning about the history of the King and Prince at Hwaseong Fortress. She wish the tour lasted longer! She made sure she was close enough to Simon to hear about the history. Simon was great and explaining things we saw. I highly recommend taking a tour with him!

Mr. Kim was a very safe driver and he deserved a praise. The bus was very clean and quiet. The AC worked very well especially in the afternoon hot temperature. Our tour guide, Daniel, was fantastic. He was absolutely a joy to spend a day with. He was humorous, cheerful, and very knowledgeable about the places. He was very organized and gave us ample time to explore on our own. The places included in this tour was wonderful and the pace was perfect, not rush at all. Thank you Mr. Kim and Daniel for making our day super special and memorable!!

Our tour guide, (Peter Pan) was excellent. Very amiable, knowledgeable and engaging, Peter explained the historical and cultural heritage of the sites we visited in a very accessibe and interesting way. The bus was clean and comfortable. Our favourite part of the tour was the visit to the serene Buddhist shrine and its magnificent surroundings. We recommend this tour very highly. Richard & Shinta

They were responsive when I asked questions regarding pickup time/location. Philip was our tour guide, he was kind and helpful throughout the trip. An incident happened during our trip but the tour started at 8:30am from Myeongdong Station to approximately 5:45pm. Reasonable amount of time at each stop for us, it’s a lot of walking so just be aware of that. We started at Hwaseong Fortress, then to a palace to see a performance… After that we went to Starfield for lunch, last stop was the temple! If you want to get away from the busy streets of Seoul, take this tour ! Worth the time and money.

4/11/2026 Philip from K One Tour is our guide and driver of the day. We have good time with only 11 people in the group and everyone corporates with Philip with scheduled meeting time. Every stop has its own interesting story and history. Beautiful cherry blossom is a bonus for the spring time to travel in Seoul. Philip explains well and gives us enough time to take photos and walk around. It is a well organized tour and can visit different places within a day. We are just in time to watch the Royal guides martial performance in the Hwaseong Haenggung Palace. We are back to Seoul on time. Thank you, Philip.

My guide is Peter. He is very knowledgable about the trip. He shared with us about the history of Hwaseong Fortress and Hwaseong Palance as well as the life of the king that then built the palace in Suwon. Besides Hwaseong Fortress and the palance, the trip also brought us to Sarfield Suwon and Waujeongsa Temple. Overall, it has been an enriching and fulfilling experience learning about the history of Korea.
