Ricky was a great teacher, we really enjoyed our class and made some tasty food! We really enjoyed learning about Korean cuisine from Ricky too, and he did a great job making us all feel welcome and relaxed. Would definitely come back!

This was the best activity I did in Seoul! It was so fun and I learned how to make delicious korean food! I was shocked at how much we learned in a short time. I went as a solo traveler and met friendly folks from Australia. Park is an excellent teacher! He made it easy for us learn as we go. I can't wait to cook kalbi and kimchi for my friends and family!
Ricky’s cooking class was absolutely wonderful! All of the recipes we prepared were delicious (Korean royal salad, seafood scallion pancake, LA short ribs, fresh kimchi, Korean potato salad). Ricky was a consummate host, guiding us through each step while also giving us the history and cultural significance of each dish. On top of it all, the mix of folks who attended made the evening that much more engaging. We’re so glad to have found this activity and would hands-down do it again if we found ourselves back in Seoul. Thank you for such a great evening, Ricky!
This was a phenomenal experience. Park Gyeonmyeon was an excellent instructor, and the hanok is beautiful. We made some delicious dishes and was made extra special eating in the stunning hanok.
This was a great experience, highlight of the Seoul trip. Could not recommend it enough. Not only do you make tasty recipes but learn their history and why they are important in Korean food culture. Ricky was brilliant and made it a highlight. You feel like you’re in a little part of history. A big perk is that it is such a small group. So book in advance, we nearly missed out.
Ricky was a great instructor, we learned about Korea through food as we cooked our lunch. Lunch was 2 starters, Tang-Pyeong-Chae and a Hamul-Pajeon paired with Makgeolli followed by LA Galbi, fresh Kimchi and Korean Potato Salad.
My daughter and I visted Seoul, South Korea in September. I would honestly say that this was one our favorite activities. Our host and instructor, Park was so welcoming and made us feel like we were a great group of friends getting together for a special meal. He was so friendly and subtly assisted us with the prep for those of us with minimimal experience in the kitchen. The 100 year old hanok was the perfect ambience to start our adventures in Seoul. I highly recommend this cooking class!
We had a wonderful time in this class. Park was an excellent instructor, very personable and knowledgeable. The dishes we prepared were delicious, and probably one of the best meals we had in Seoul! Definitely recommend this experience!
Amazing class and a must do! Chef Park was an awesome teacher - so nice, funny, and we found it really easy to learn from his clear instruction. The food was delicious and we’ll definitely want to make these recipes again at home. Setting was so beautiful and historic, and really enhanced the experience. Also love that they sent such clear instructions so it would be easy to find the location!
Truly enjoyed this class. Loved the instructor. So much fun and the food was great. Highly recommend.
Amazing host and experience. Loved the unique and easy method we learned for cooking Kalbi at home. It came out even better than the Kalbi at one of the best Kalbi spots in Seoul
This cooking class is really special. The old Hanok it was located in was beautifully fitted into a cooking studio. The menu was well thought out, and the instructor and owner, Ricky, was a spectacular host! We learned the history behind the dishes we cooked, how to cook them, and of course how to enjoy them. He even walked us to the nearby village to show us some dessert spots after the class had ended. He went above and beyond to make this class a memorable one and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you so much Ricky for putting on such a great class!
What an amazing experience this was. Ricky was an excellent teacher, the menu was fabulous and could be adjusted to your own unique spice level. He was prepared for those who didn’t eat pork or didn’t want to use mayo with alternate options which still produced a similar result. He was helpful, funny and overall this was one of the highlights of not the highlight of my trip to Korea. Highly recommend this experience.
Delightful experience. Enjoyed Park’s instruction and personality - very warm, welcoming and interesting. Small group was a plus. Restored hanok was charming and added to the atmosphere. Don’t hesitate to join the fun!
Come hungry for this cooking class and traditional Korean meal experience. The cooking school is in one of the old historic buildings and the instructor did a great job explaining the dishes and the ingredients as he guided us through the preparation and cooking of the meal. All of the ingredients were fresh and the flavors were delicious. There was so much food we were not able to finish our meal! We enjoyed the entire experience and highly recommend it to anyone wishing to learn how to prepare a traditional Korean Meal.
I would give this experience six stars if possible. It was amazing. The location was gorgeous, and our teacher - just wonderful! He was patient, kind, funny, attentive, interesting... my whole family loved him and the experience. The food was so yummy! I love that we made dishes that came from the streets of Korea and others that had royal history. This would be our top - do not miss - experience in Korea!
Our friendly instructor was well organised and professional He included everyone and clearly helped us prepare dishes which allowed for each person’s preferences
Park was great! We made great dishes that I wasn't expecting. Park kept talking to us about korea, history of the dishes and a bunch of ather things.
A wonderful experience! Food was delicious and easy to follow. The host instructor is most knowledgeable, thoughtful, and entertaining.
I honestly can’t recommend this cooking class enough! Park was our chef and instructor, and he created one of the most incredible food and cultural experiences I’ve ever had. I was so lucky to receive this cooking class as a birthday gift from my boyfriend, and Park truly made it one of the best birthdays I could have asked for. The food was absolutely delicious, but what made the experience so special was Park himself, his guidance, knowledge, passion, and all the amazing tips he shared about Korea. As a first-time visitor to Seoul, I learned so much and felt so welcomed throughout the entire class. It was such a fun, personal, and memorable experience, and I genuinely couldn’t recommend it more. If you’re visiting Seoul, you have to do this class! 🇰🇷❤️ THANK YOU Park for everything
I will definitely be doing a cooking class in every city. I visit now because of this class. It was so informative and so fun. Everything we made was delicious.
Nice and educational experience. Our host, Park, was also a hilarious guy next to being a great chef.
Park was easy to follow and very charming. Loved the atmosphere and the menu. Yummy food would recommend this for anyone
We took Chef Park's cooking class in a beautiful 100-year-old hanok and left with full stomachs and a genuinely great evening behind us. Chef Park is an excellent instructor — funny, knowledgeable, and great at explaining not just the how but the why behind each dish. We made five things: tangpyeongchae (mung bean jelly with pork and vegetables), haemul pajeon, galbi short ribs, fresh kimchi, and Korean potato salad. It's an ambitious menu for one class, but the pacing worked well and everything came out delicious. The setting alone is worth mentioning — eating the meal you just made in a century-old hanok is a nice touch that elevates it beyond a typical cooking class. He also pointed us toward a great fried chicken spot afterward, which turned out to some of the best fried chicken we have ever had! I would recommend this class to any one who is interested in food and cooking.
We had a wonderful experience! From the beautiful ambiance of the class to the delicious dishes we learned to prepare, everything was exceptional. Chef Park was warm, welcoming, and made the experience both fun and educational as she guided us through preparing Royal Seoul cuisine. We especially loved the cultural and historical stories shared throughout the class, which made it even more meaningful. Everything was easy, well organized, and absolutely delicious. We highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Seoul!
Just completed a Korean cooking class here in Seoul. We found this tiny school - The Royal Seoul Cooking Class - @royalseoulcc - that’s just blocks away from where we are staying in the Insadong neighborhood. Our Chef, Park, guided us with several dishes that became our lunch. Park was super informative about history behind the dishes as well as the preparation techniques. All of this happens in a cute little house hidden away in backstreets of Insadong.
Park was a great teacher and offered a lot of history of the food. He had a lot of patience with our 12yr old with lots of compliments and encouragement. We would recommend him to all of our friends.
Park was such a wonderful instructor!! The entire experience, from arrival to departure, was amazing. I would definitely do this again!
Great experience, good food, good timing, good teacher, nice place! My daughter and me enjoy it a lot!
Beautiful clean space! Our chef/instructor was Ricky; he is amazing and very patient. The most welcoming soul- this activity was really fun and enlightening!
Hands down best meal in Seoul. This was such a fun experience and so tasty! Definitely recommend booking this tour if considering. We received history about the dishes and recipes/homework to make them at home and send pictures. Can't wait to try making these dishes at home.
We had a fantastic time cooking with Chef Ricky! The food was delicious, and Ricky led a wonderful class. The setting was perfect!
It was a very fun and informative coking class. Park was super interesting to listen to. The dishes we prepared were absolutely delicious and surprisingly easy to make. The Hanok in which we cooked was an absolute stunner. Would recommend a 100%.
The teacher, Mr. Park, is very humorous that makes the class more fun. The recipe is easy to follow even for the people who don't have cooking experience. The dishes are delicious. Absolutely a value for money experience.
Ricky was wonderful about explaining the process to make the food, along with the history of the food. Everything was delicious! I am definitely going to need the recipes! Thank you so much for making our mother daughter trip so special!
Honestly my favoruite thing I've done in Seoul since being here. The food was amazing and the history we were taught about was really informative and interesting. Highlight had to have been Park, the guide, who was helpful and friendly as much as he was hilarious. Highly recommend and thanks very much mate from Sam, Dom, and Aaron (not sure what email im using to leave this but it's us).
Ricky (our chef and host) was fun and knoweledgeable. He provided background on the dishes we made (simple but authentically Korean), easy to follow instructions, and told funny stories about Korean life. It was ag reat evening, and I highly recomend this event.
I had booked Royal cooking class to learn something different about the Korean cuisine. Ricky was really good at explaning the history behind the dishes. We made a royal dish with mungbean and vegetables. We then made 4 other dishes. We learned the base sauce for many recepies. I would definitely recommend this cooking class, which also took place in an old Hanok Building.
The Royal Cooking Class was an amazing experience, and Park was an outstanding teacher. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and made the class both fun and easy to follow. His passion for Korean cuisine and culture really enhanced the experience, and he took the time to ensure everyone felt comfortable and involved. The class was well organized, the food was delicious, and I learned recipes I can use at home. I highly recommend this class to anyone visiting Korea—Park made it truly memorable!
It’s a lot of fun, educational cultural experience. Not to mention good food, good organization and friendliness. Also it helped that all the participants got along too. I’ll give it an A+.
I had an excellent experience with Park and the others in our cooking group. Park was a great teacher - both in cooking and about Korean history and culture. It was a very enjoyable experience and I highly recommend it.
Park was great! Experience was very personal, shared stories about each dish and everything was delicious!
Had an amazing cooking class with Park! The instructions were clear and he was an engaging teacher as well. Would highly recommend!
This takes place in a small Hanok near Iksandeong. You arrive and take off your shoes. Ricky who hosted the class is super friendly and knowledgeable. We make a few dishes but we sit down to eat after the first set and then again at the end. Class flies by and you dont realise when the time is done. You are also offered som Korean rice wine (makgeolli) to taste. The hanok is small, but oerfect size for the class of 6.
a great experience our teacher Park was funny and knowledgeable , food was fabulous . Definitely recommend to do and then walk around the insadong lane ways
Amazing experience! Absolutely recommend :)
This is a wonderful way to experience Korean food and culture. Park was a congenial host and expert chef (and spoke excellent English). He carefully demonstrated the cooking techniques to our small group, explaining why each step was done, and then helped each of us to do the same. This fun learning experience resulted in a delicious meal. Our easy conversation with Park gave us a personal view of Korean culture as he told us about himself and his family.
I booked this cooking class as a way for all of us on the trip (my husband, mother, cousin and niece) to bond and learn more about South Korean culture before we dived deep into eating and shopping in Seoul! Everyone LOVED the class and agreed it was their favorite thing about the trip! Our instructor, Ricky, was a total sweetheart. He was patient and engaging and made sure to pay attention to each participant. It was such a great and fun activity! I highly recommend this to anyone and guarantee it will be a memory for all to share, especially since you get to come home and make the meals you learned!!! Thank you to Ricky! Say hello to your wife for us :)
Park is simply the best. I will recommend this experience to everyone visiting Seoul. Thank you, Park!!
We loved our cooking class with Park. He was informative, engaging, patient and gave us so much beautiful context to Korean customs and cuisine. The house is so charming, clean and comfortable. The neighbourhood is lovely. We would go back and do another class in a heartbeat!
