It has been over 70 years since the outbreak of the Korean War and the drawing of the 248 km (155 miles) The cease-fire line along the 38th parallel created the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). Symbolizing both war and peace and division and unification, the DMZ is a place where ISIS has come to a stop. Today, it is a haven for rare animals, birds, and plants. You can see the 3rd Tunnel, Freedom Bridge, Dora observatory, K-drama shooting Army base camp(passing by), and real trains during Korean War.
Located approximately 56 kilometers from Seoul City Hall and 7 kilometers from DMZ, Imjingak is an important part of Korean history. Imjingak Resort has various war-related artifacts as well as spacious Pyeonghwa Nuri Park. The resort preserves the Freedom Bridge and Imjingang rail bridge from the Korean War to remind people of the past, along with a Memorial Hall, memorial monuments, and recreational areas

If traveling to Seoul and you want a great experience I highly recommend Michael Kim. He provided us with a great experience learning about the DMZ and South Korea he is both an experienced guide and very knowledgeable . We finished the tour feeling like we had made a friend.

Our guide Mr.Kori was excellent, he had in-depth knowledge of the conflict between North and South Korea. He was extremely polite and professional while being friendly at the same time. He escorted us during the entire tour so that we would see all that was available at each location. We highly recommend Mr.Kori he is a 5 star plus performer. Our guide, who had military experience, immersed us in the troubled relationship between North & South Korea. At one point in Tunnel 3 which North Korea dug in 1970-75 to invade South Korea we were 150 meters from the North Korean border. Not to be missed!

Great day with Michael at the DMZ. Very knowledgeable and great English. He is a safe driver with a beautiful car. I very much recommend him for sightseeing in Korea.
Good tour, it has changed from the previous two times I visited but the experience was made special by Michael the tour guide. The 3rd tunnel could be difficult for older people due to lift be broken- use caution (steep and difficult climb coming back up)
We were very lucky to have Mr. Michael Kim as our tour guide to the DMZ in April 2024. Michael is very knowledgeable on the history of the DMZ. He planned his itinerary very thoroughly, caring, knowledgeable, and accomadating to our last minute changes of itinerary. I would rate Mr. Kim’s private DMZ tour a 10, but they only want us to go to 5. Our trip was part business and part tourist and our day with Mr. Kim was the most memorable because he treated us as VIP’s in every way. His knowledge and information on Korean history and Korea in general was top notch and I would recommend his private tour to anyone wanting an extra special experience.
The trip was a wonderful history lesson. Michael made it amazing. He is so knowledgeable. He was fantastic at navigating the mess that is the ticket line. Wonderful insight into daily Korean life. And he’s a great driver!
