The tour was amazing and very enlightening, largely due to the warmth and knowledge of our very experienced guide Won. The one lowpoint was the tunnel visit, which was very challenging for someone 6ft 2 and past 40 years. Won was very careful and gave ample warning for anyone with health conditions, making it very clear that it was not mandatory/forced. The location was also packed with people as it was peak tourist season, which did not help the tunnel. Won could see me having difficulties and made sure to look out for me, which was greatly appreciated. The observatory visit was very informative, with Won providing excellent background, and context to a lot that has happened in the DMZ including how relations have changed with current events. He was able to bring the North Korean defector to the van for a better interaction as she told her story, and we asked questions while he translated. He was also generous with showing us pictures of some of the places that are now closed to civilians like the Joint Security Area. Won was very professional, knowledgable and warm. He kept the conversations and discussions flowing, often keeping everyone engaged even during the van rides, making great effort to remember each visitor's name, face, and the country they're from. Overall a must-visit for anyone on first trip (or only trip) to South Korea.

Before we go into DMZ area and do ID Check, will look through 3 stops - Brdige of freedom, Mangbaedan Altar, Steam locomotive destroyed during Korean war in Imjingak Park. Imjingak was built in 1972 for the benefit of displaced North Koreans. It is at the end of National Road No. 1, which civilians can access.
Mangbaedan is an altar where North Korean refugees in the South hold ancestral rites on the two biggest national holidays to their parents and grandparents left behind in the North.
The third tunnel refers to one of the tunnels dug by North Korea southward under the DMZ. It is located 12km from Munsan and 52km from Seoul and was discovered on October 17, 1978. The tunnel measures 2m wide, 2m high, and over 1,635m long—large enough to accommodate some 30,000 soldiers per hour. It was discovered at a site four kilometers south of Panmunjom in 1978. Will go down and look around on foot. Also, after you come out of tunnel, will go watch short video clip at The DMZ theater demonstrate the history of Korean division and the natural ecosystem around the DMZ.
Dora Observatory, the northernmost observatory on the west side of the Republic of Korea, opened in January 1987 atop Mt. Dora. On clear days, the Gaeseong Industrial Complex, Mt. Songak in Gaeseong, statues of Kim Il Sung, Kijeong-dong in the North, the outskirts of Gaeseong, and Geummamgol (cooperative farm) can all be viewed through the numerous telescopes installed on the rooftop.
This is constructed for wishing reunification and peace in Korea peninsula. It's constructed to transform Imjingak, a symbol of division and tension, into a symbol of reconciliation, co-prosperity, peace and unification. Various performances, exhibitions, film screenings and festivals are held here throughout the year.

Had an absolutely amazing experience with our guide Alex, he took us up to the mountain bridge, into the tunnels and up to the observatory. Very funny, friendly and knowledgeable guide who gave us a lot of information about each area we went to and happily answered all our questions! Amazing experience would highly recommend l.
For this very meaningful trip to the DMZ, we could’ve not asked for a more excellent guide than Alex. He made our full day comfortable attentive, informative, and made sure that we had every opportunity to have a meaningful day. From the moment that we were picked up at our hotel up to the DMZ, our ability to meet with a north Korean defector, and the third infiltration tunnel he ensured that this very important excursion was effortless. We highly recommend this tour in particular, and if you are fortunate enough to have Alex as your guide. Thank you!
We couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Alex for our private DMZ tour! From start to finish, he made the entire experience incredibly memorable. His knowledge of Korean history and the DMZ was truly impressive, and he shared so many fascinating insights that brought everything to life. We walked away having learned so much, with a much deeper appreciation and understanding of the history and significance of the area. Beyond his expertise, Alex was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with. He was incredibly kind, warm, friendly, and genuinely wonderful company. It felt less like spending the day with a tour guide and more like exploring with a knowledgeable friend. His enthusiasm and thoughtful approach made an already fascinating experience even more special. This was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our time in South Korea, and we feel so fortunate to have had Alex as our guide. We cannot recommend him highly enough! Thank you, Alex, for such a wonderful and unforgettable experience!
Alex was the perfect tour guide. I had so much fun and learned so many things with him as our guide. Without him, the tour wouldn’t have been as enjoyable and I would be so lost! I recommend him to anyone looking for a tourguide for the DMZ. Thank you so much Alex.
I had a great experience today with our tour guide, Won! From the 3rd tunnel to the North Korean defector Q&A, this really felt worth the cost. Won was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to, which made things even easier as this was only my 3rd day in Korea.
Alex is an absolutely sensational tour guide. Not only is he brilliantly knowledgeable and enthusiastic, but he is also a complete laugh and gentleman. My friends and I had the best day of our trip and we could not recommend him more highly for the DMZ tour.
Strongly recommend this small group tour. I had been uncertain whether to use a day of the S Korea itinerary for the DMZ tour but I’m very glad I did. Won was an excellent tour guide - he provided lots of information about the history of the DMZ but also was happy to discuss Korea more generally and answer all questions. He was very informative and it’s an excellent and engaging introduction to the country. I also particularly recommend the defector Q&A.
We had an amazing tour by Wan! He was exceptionally good! I highly recommend the tour with him! He is kind and give us awesome tips for our trip in South Korea.
Great tour, saw a variety of things, guide was very knowledgeable. The interview with The defector was very memorable.
Excellent DMZ tour and one of the highlights of our trip to Seoul. Won, our guide was knowledgeable, organized, and provided great historical context throughout the day. The cost was well worth the money paid especially since this was an all-day tour. So glad we chose the small group as it made it more personalized. Visiting the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel and suspension bridge was fascinating, and the Q&A session with a North Korean defector added a unique and personal perspective. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a deeper understanding of Korea's history. Make sure to request Won!
We had an amazing private tour with our guide Alex. He picked us up promptly from our hotel in downtown Seoul, provided a detail history of the Korean War and the border, took numerous photos of our family and even provided restaurant and tourist activity recommendations for the remainder of our trip. While at the border we got to see into North Korea on multiple occasions, the Dora observatory and 3rd infiltration tunnels were wonderful experiences. We also had a great Korean lunch at a local restaurant near the suspension bridge. Our tour started at 7 AM when we got picked up and ended around 4:30 when were dropped off back at our hotel. We would absolutely recommend this tour and when you book you should ask for Alex!
We had a great experience on our private DMZ tour! Our guide was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and flexible throughout the trip. He answered all our questions and made the whole experience really interesting and enjoyable. Highly recommend!
This was a very unique and fun experience. I have studied the modern history of Korea extensively and have always wanted to see the DMZ and the surrounding area. Our guide made the whole experience painless and simple. We did as much as we wanted and got to see a lot of unique sites. He also helped me figure out how to buy some souvenirs that were of personal interest to me when I had no cash to buy the items. I was very grateful for that. Thanks Joseph for a wonderful day out. We appreciated your great sense of humour, knowledge, and good, positive attitude.
Great tour. Initially, I didn’t really know much about the DMZ nor was I necessarily interested, although my friends wanted to go so I tagged along and had a great time. The tour was relaxed but informative and smoove, shoutout to our tour guide Nahee as well, she did a great job.
Wonderful experience. Smooth and comfortable travel with the excellent work of our tour guide Mr. Won. We will definitely recommend this tour with friends
Eddie is an amazing guide. He is very knowledgeable, speaks perfect English, and generously shares his knowledge. 5 star day trip.
Wonderful experience and nice and friendly tour guide Mr. Wong. Good communicator and funny. No dull moments. I highly recommend him.
We had a wonderful experience! Our tour guide, Mr. Won, was very courteous, knowledgeable, and informative. Every part of the trip was well worth our time, and we truly enjoyed every minute of it. Highly recommended!
Highlight of our Korea trip. Private tour with “Tiger” as our guide. As former military officer deployed along the DMZ, he provided us with an in depth history lesson and details about the DMZ that you could never get in a group setting. Outstanding service, vehicle and incredibly professional. Highly recommend this tour and him specifically!
We had a fantastic day up at the DMZ with Alex who was the perfect guide. He explained everything in great detail and ensured that we saw all of the highlights. Alex was very knowledgeable and he was a wonderful communicator, all in all a wonderful day and highly recommended. If you are thinking of doing this tour ask for Alex, you won't regret it.
We had a great experience visiting the DMZ with our guide Alex. He was energetic, informative, and very considerate. He took the time to explain the history of the two countries, the area, answer all our questions and was kind enough to drop us off afterwards to a different area of Seoul than we started. The vehicle was also clean, spacious, and very comfortable. It was a day we'll spent.
We had a wonderful all-day private DMZ tour with Joseph and would highly recommend him to anyone visiting Korea. Joseph was kind, personable, and really took the time to get to know our family. He has a great personality and made the whole day feel relaxed and enjoyable. His English was excellent, and he did a fantastic job explaining the history of the DMZ and the relationship between North and South Korea. He gave us just the right amount of background and made everything easy to understand. One of the things we really appreciated was how many pictures and videos he took of our family throughout the day. It was such a nice touch and gave us some great memories without us having to worry about constantly taking photos ourselves. Joseph made the experience feel very personal and never rushed. By the end of the day, it felt like we had spent the day with someone we knew rather than just a tour guide. We are very glad we chose a private DMZ tour, and Joseph made it one of the highlights of our trip to Korea. We would absolutely recommend him to friends and family.
This tour was the perfect choice for individual travelers like us, who are mostly reluctant to join organized group activities. The small group size gave us ample opportunity to ask questions and not rush through every point on the agenda. Won was very knowledgeable and shared information and insights on Korea’s history and current situation with us that left us with a much deeper and more nuanced understanding of the delicate armistice between the South and North.
We had a great day with Marie. While the tour itself was interesting, Marie made the day very special. She is knowledgeable, friendly and talkative. She kept a close eye on us and made sure we were enjoying ourselves. The DMZ history is very interesting and we absolutely learned a lot. I did the entire walk into the tunnel;my wife chose not to. It’s a difficult walk on the return leg. I can wholeheartedly recommend this tour with Marie. You’ll have a great time.
Many thanks to Won for the fantastic tour of the DMZ. It was an exceptionally good experience from start to finish. We were picked up on time, Won knows the historical background of the DMZ in great detail, and the day we spent with him was wonderful. We’d love to take our next tour with him again. Highly recommended—thank you, Won!
The key to any successful guided tour is having the right guide and Tiger was the best tour guide we have ever had. He is extremely knowledgeable, highly experienced, and professional. He is serious about his tour but has a good sense of humor. He made our DMZ tour experience wonderful. He shared his personal story in the military and gave us a detailed history and education and made it fun. We can’t say enough about Tiger. If we could give him ten stars, we would!
The tour was very interesting and informative. Alex was a great guide. He was very knowledgeable and we learned lots.
Our guide Marie was really good. She contacted us 1 day prior to the trip and arranged pickup from our hotel in Myeondonge, Seoul. She had a very and spacious car for us 3 adults. Her driving was excellent and she spoke good English. She arranged us to be in the first bus going into DMZ and arranged the first Monorail going down the 3rd Tunnel. We did the whole DMZ tour with ease and well explained the whole way. After a nice vegetarian Sushi lunch, we went to the suspension bridge which was an enjoyable place. We would recommend this trip to anyone wanting a good English speaking guide and keep to good timing at DMZ.
JH was wonderful. He took care of everything and made sure we had plenty of time to get into the DMZ (they have timed tickets). He is super knowledgeable and we learned a lot.
Great trip! Our guide Won was Great. He was extremely knowledgeable, informative, and engaging throughout the tour. His professionalism, friendliness and fascinating insights made the experience truly memorable. Highly recommended!
Very nice trip with our guide Won, who did a great job!
Excellent tour. Won is one of the best guides I had.
Katie was a great guide. Very knowledgeable and helpful
Joseph was great. He was informative and personable. He answered all our questions and explained the history of the DMZ very well. We would definitely take another tour with him.
Alex was our guide booked through DMZ. He is very efficient and great communicator. The night before the trip he connected with us to plan pickup. Morning pickup was smooth. Weather was grey and rainy so Alex immediately adjusted the itinerary so that we get to see the North Korea side in DMZ in afternoon instead of morning as originally planned. He also was with us every step of the way making sure we get priority entry and seating specially since many large tour groups can kind of take over space. We talked a lot during the trip about world affairs, culture, sports, BTS, Queen Yuna, raising teenagers, world cuisine and North/South Korea politics. He goes above and beyond to make it the best experience for his guests and took pictures for us with his phone and then shared through Wassap so we were more in the moment rather than trying to take pics. I would highly recommend him for an immersive experience and a taste of true Korean hospitality. Muhib and Rushna
Chloe was a great guide and very helpful and knowledgeable. She is a wonderful person and so informative.
Highly recommended this tour, Won was an absolutely fantastic tour guide and made our visit to the DMZ a truly memorable experience! I had visited the DMZ before, but Won made this trip feel completely unique and special. Won apart was his exceptional ability to navigate the crowds and expertly manage our timing. He seemed to know exactly where to go and when, ensuring we avoided long lines and spent our time enjoying the experience rather than waiting in crowds. His organization and leadership made the entire day seamless and stress-free. He also arranged a monorail ride to and from the North Korean tunnel which was extraordinarily helpful because we wouldn’t have been able to walk down and back up from the tunnel. Beyond the DMZ itself, Won took us to a fabulous local restaurant for lunch and shared excellent advice on which souvenirs were worth buying. These thoughtful touches made the tour feel personal and gave us an even greater appreciation for the experience. Won is knowledgeable, thoughtful, incredibly well-organized, and genuinely dedicated to making sure his guests have the best possible experience. Even if you’ve visited the DMZ before, I highly recommend touring with Won. He has a real talent for turning a sightseeing trip into something truly special! Thank you, Won, for an unforgettable day! You are an exceptional guide, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

We really enjoyed the whole experience and especially our tour guide Young. Young was knowledgeable, navigated us well through the tour so we missed the crowds and helpful.
This was an amazing opportunity to view the DMZ, as well as North Korea (from a distance). The tour was well organized, with all details taken care of by the provider. We had an outstanding guide (Joseph) who made sure we knew everything we needed to about each stage of the journey. He picked us early, which helped beat the crowds, then ushered us expertly through each stage of the tour, making sure we were comfortable throughout. We really enjoyed speaking with him about each aspect of the trip, as he was extremely knowledgeable about each. I highly recommend this tour and our guide. Great job.
Real nice and knows a lot of history, really helpfull and it was a great experience!!!
Alex was so wonderful and made this trip so amazing. He explained everything and made sure we were very comfortable. He catered to our every need and annswered all the questions. He was so enthusiastic about all of the information you can tell he loves his job. He was the best! I wish we could take him with us for the rest of our vacation because we had not had a better guide in the three traveling across Japan and South Korea. They recommend you request him when you take your trip to the DMZ and suspension bridge !
My wife, daughter and I had a great day visiting the DMZ with Won. He came to our hotel to pick us up on time and drove us in a nice minivan to the DMZ. First stop was to chat with a North Korean defector after hearing her testimony about her life in North Korea and subsequent escape into China. Had the opportunity to ask her questions, translated by Won. Hopped on a tourist bus as is required to cross the checkpoint with reserved seats on the bus and Won guiding us through the shortest routes and cutting lines when appropriate during our visit at the DMZ and taking photos of us as well. Efficient way to learn about the history of the Korean War and seeing all the sites include the 3rd tunnel, Dora observatory, etc. Won then drove us to lunch at a nice bulgogi restaurant next to Mt Gamaksan where we walked the suspension bridge afterward. He offered to drop us off anywhere in Seoul and gave us recommendations for places to eat. Overall an amazing day, great guide and precious memories.
Young was a fantastic guide. He was informative and funny.
Great way to efficiently see and experience the sites. Marie our guide was amazing. Extremely personable and knowledgeable. Her experience and flexibility allowed us to change up things to minimize waiting and crowds. Vehicle was large, modern and clean. English was very strong
We had a great experience with Won. Pick up from our hotel was smooth - very comfortable spotless car and he was a careful driver. The DMZ tour was very interesting and Won did a great job keeping us on a slightly different timetable from the large bus tours so we never felt crowded or like we were in a long line. Won is a great guide and very easy to talk to. If you want to visit the DMZ, I would highly recommend his tour.
We all had a fantastic trip to see the DMZ and other things. It was a full day, but it was our best trip for the whole holiday and well worth doing. Our guide was the best we had on our holiday and his name was Won. He was very informative and made the trip very interesting. Everything went very smoothly! We love Won!
Won was a superb guide, very informative, interesting, humorous and an excellent speaker. Certainly one of the best tour guides that we have had on our trip to date. We would really recommend Won and the DMZ tour.
Alex was fabulous and very helpful and informative throughout the day. We loved learning about the DMZ and chatting throughout our experiences. Alex was so kind and made our day fantastic!
