a nice day. this tour is mostly self guided (my preference), and there is plenty to do and see. definitely did not get to everything, so do some research beforehand and hit ground ready. I’d recommend this trip to another’s.

This tour is just the transportation, not a tour. No time for the cable . Take most of time to get there.
This tour was a great way to see nature sites outside of Seoul. It was an enjoyable day and well-paced. Our guide Sally Park was organized and helpful, making the day very smooth. Thank you.
A great day in the mountains! Beautiful scenery! Han was a great tour guide. I highly recommend this tour!
Great way to experience the mountains and Eastern coastline from Seoul! Loved that you do not have to stay as a whole group for the time in the park and temple. You can choose your own adventure allowable within the slotted times. Sally was great keeping everyone organized and giving local recommendations. A must do!!
What a great way to spend the day and get out in nature! Harry was an amazing guide and was so happy to share all his knowledge with us :) Would absolutely recommend!
We did the tour on oct 1 with Pino. He was funny and very accommodating. Thank you for all the explanations on the places we visited!
We (incl our 10m old baby ;-)) had a great and sunny day, wonderful impressions, and much fun with our very kind guide Laura.
The tour expected my expectations ! It was an incredible day-trip. Thanks to Laura, the tour guide it was amazing : she gave us very interesting information, useful recommendations and took care of all of us all day. She was very well organized, nice, patient, and made us feel comfortable. Congrats ! I absolutely loved the views, the walks, and everything went smoothly. I highly recommend it ! An unforgettable day in magical locations in nature. Thank you ✨😍
Laura was amaIng! She fave us an in depth story of the history of the Mountain Since Chuseok is this weekend she also told us about the holiday . You could tell she is proud of hee country she explained the degree of difficulty for each path! It was wonderful and she was amazing
We had a wonderful trip to Seoraksan National Park and Naksansa Temple. Everything was well organized, and we had the perfect amount of free time at Seoraksan to explore at our own pace. If you are physically fit, I highly recommend hiking up to Ulsanbawi Rock. The hike is challenging, but absolutely worth it. The views from the top are breathtaking! Naksansa Temple was also beautiful and a lovely addition to the trip. A big thank you to our guide, Laura, who was kind, friendly, and helpful. She made the whole day enjoyable and informative, and we really appreciated her positive attitude throughout the trip. The only thing we would suggest for next time is that the driver drive more carefully on the way back. The speed made us, as well as some of the other passengers, feel uncomfortable. Overall, we had a nice experience and would recommend both this tour and Laura as a guide.
We had such a wonderful experience on this tour. The beautiful scenery, the sea, the walks, and all the interesting places we visited made the whole day truly memorable. There was so much to see and enjoy, and the tour was very well organized. What made the experience even more special was our guide, Janggun. He was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful throughout the entire tour. I was especially impressed by how well he could communicate in Korean, English, and Chinese. He didn’t simply take us from one place to another; he also explained the history behind the places we visited and pointed out what made each location unique. This made the experience much more meaningful and interesting. Janggun also has a great sense of humor. He made jokes along the way, kept everyone smiling, and created such a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. One thing I particularly appreciated was that he always made it clear that if we needed any help, we could ask him at any time. It really made us feel comfortable and well looked after. We actually experienced his kindness and patience even before the tour started. We got lost while trying to find the meeting point, and as the departure time was getting closer, I started to panic. I wasn’t sure which direction to go or which exit to take, and I was worried that we might make everyone else wait for us. I called Janggun, and instead of making me feel more stressed, he calmly told me, “You still have 10 minutes. You can make it.” He stayed on the phone with me and patiently guided me until I found the correct direction. I was very nervous at the time, so having someone remain calm and help me step by step meant a lot to me. I was extremely grateful for his patience and understanding. During the tour, we were also given enough time at each location to enjoy the surroundings, explore, take photos, and record videos without constantly feeling rushed. That was very important to me because it allowed us to really enjoy each place and capture so many beautiful moments. I came away with lots of photos, videos, and, most importantly, wonderful memories that I will keep for a long time. Overall, this was one of those travel experiences that I will remember not only because of the beautiful places we visited, but also because of the person who guided us through them. Thank you so much, Janggun, 🙇🏻♀️ 😀 for your kindness, patience, humor, knowledge, and professionalism. You helped make this trip truly special for us. I hope you continue creating many more amazing tours and unforgettable experiences for travelers from all over the world. Wishing you lots of success and all the best in your work! I would happily recommend this tour, especially to anyone who wants to explore beautiful places with a knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely helpful guide. 🤗💚
Good trip, great views, but a tough hike. Wear shoes. Nakhwansa temple is beautiful. Steve is a good guide!
It was a good time, Lucia was very kind, many people in this tour couldn't be on time, she was more gracious about it than I would have been. The only reason for the 4 star review is the drop off sites. The drop off for Myeongdong was not at the same pick-up location, so many people didn't know where they were or how to get back from the different place. So just be cautious about the drop off sites! Again, both Lucia and our driver were great! But to anyone who has issues with being punctual, a day trip like this may not be for you.
The scenery is wonderful. There are plenty of amenities with food, toilets etc and I noticed many families enjoying the day.
Wonderful experience of Northwest Korea. Seoraksan is beautiful and my only wish is we could spend a little longer there. Highly recommend the cable cars and Biseondae Rock/Geumggangul Cave! The cave’s a hike but well worth it. Also Naksansa is such a beautiful seaside temple! Our guide, Byungok Han was indeed a national treasure. Very kind, punctual, and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour!
Great tour, destination is awesome and our tour guide david was very good and helpful, and a very safe driver.
I really enjoyed this tour. Quite often, when you have a big bus, there was about 40 people, it's s just kind of transportation and maybe a little bit of information. But Han (aka National Treasure) was different. He made sure to give us each personalized attention and make sure our questions were answered. He even made sure we got good pictures at every place that we visited. He set up a group chat so that we could share questions, comments, and photos. It was a lovely day. Make sure you wear good walking shoes Yes, there is a lot of walking. There are so many beautiful things to see.
Tour guide Sally was very informative and explained everything precisely, this was my first tour and first time holidaying solo also so this was a good first experience for me as she explained everything to us in detail from where to go and look, to where was best to eat etc. There are few trails you can do at the mountain, I chose to do the longest one first then sat and ate in the restaurant before going up in the cable car. Wrong time of year for me to travel in hindsight as it was very hot and humid combined with the Korean summer holidays so we got stuck in traffic too, nobody’s fault and we didn’t have the trip shortened either, would definitely do another tour, hopefully when it’s cooler.
Beautiful landscapes of Mt. Seorak and the sea-bounded Naksansa temple. Mr. One (his 1st name) was a PERFECT GUIDE: knowledagle, respectful of people's limitations, friendly and intelligent. Overall, I'd rate this in Top 10% of (many) tours I've taken in > 30 countries
Our guide Mr. Han was exceptional — deeply knowledgeable about Buddhism, incredibly warm, and went out of his way to take photos for everyone on the tour. The bus was comfortable, pickup and drop-off had 3 convenient Seoul locations, and communication was seamless throughout. Highly recommend this tour.
We had an amazing day visiting Mount Seorak and Naksansa Temple, and our guide, Byungok Han, made the experience truly exceptional. He was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about Korean history, culture, and local traditions. His explanations brought each destination to life and made the tour much more meaningful.
Sadly you cannot choose the weather, but despite the rain, it was a quite fun and interesting trip. There were more than enough rest stops, so do not bring any snacks. Better leave place for a raincoat or umbrella. The temples and the park are all very nice.
Worth the price, beautiful views. It rained for us but we still enjoyed our time. Guide Kim was funny
I highly recommend it, especially for solo travelers, because you get a lot more information about the destination. Thanks to the guide!
Was ok, too long the trip from the city to the mountains In the morning they pick up us on a point, but at return they drop us on a diferent location
It very nice and unforgetable moment in our one day tour with Sally as the tour leader. She is very kind and warm while lead the group. Thank you Sally in making our great holiday in Seoul.
The guide was great and kept things on task. We enjoyed both places and you could either have a high or lower activity level. The views at the park were amazing and we loved the hiking there. I really liked the Temple and the beach views.
Visiting both Mt Seorak and Naksansa Temple was an enjoyable experience. At Seorak, there were good lunch options, I really loved the kimchi pancake!
Beautiful views! However, the speaker system was broken and muffled. We couldn’t understand or hear the tour guide on the bus. We had to look up information online or find him when we arrived at our destination to figure out what was going on.
Mt Seorak is such a beautiful nature walk. David, our guide is quite good at suggesting the easy pace walk, which we did and 5 minutes to spare in our allotted time. It was so impressive! A must see while in S. Korea.
Seorak National park with the opportunity to hike in the mountains (we chose the waterfall hike and loved it) was worth the trip. Naksansa temple overlooking the ocean topped off the day ! Robert was our expert guide and driver - great job !
We had such a wonderful experience with our tour guide. They were friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and made the whole trip so enjoyable and stress-free. Everything was well organised, and they explained each place clearly while also giving us enough time to explore and enjoy ourselves. Thank you so much for taking such good care of us and helping create such lovely memories. We truly enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend you to anyone looking for a great
I am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment regarding the TourStory tour I attended on March 30, 2026. While the Mount Sorsk portion of the trip was outstanding, the Naksansa Temple was not. This review is not a reflection on our guide Byungok Han who was an awesome guide, but rather your company and its tour promotion on Viator. Your promotional materials specifically state that "most people can participate." However, this claim is significantly misleading. Upon arrival at the temple site, I discovered it was situated at the top of a steep incline that is entirely inaccessible to individuals with my mobility disability. What is most frustrating is that a functional road exists leading directly to the temple entrance. On a previous tour with a different company and driver, I was able to see the site because they took the initiative to drive up the hill for those of us with mobility issues. During this tour, however, no such accommodation was offered or utilized. I would like to highlight the following points of failure: Inaccurate Advertising: Marketing a tour as accessible when it requires navigating a steep grade is a misrepresentation of your services. Lack of Reasonable Accommodation: There is no logistical reason why a driver cannot drop off passengers with disabilities at the top of the road before proceeding to a designated parking area. Financial and Emotional Impact: I paid the full price for this tour with the expectation of equal access. Being forced to wait at the bottom on the bus, while other participants enjoy the site feels like a form of discrimination and is a poor reflection of your company's values. I am requesting a partial refund for this tour, as I was unable to participate in the temple portion of the itinerary due to your lack of clear communication and accessibility planning. Furthermore, I strongly urge you to update your tour descriptions to include specific details about inclines and physical requirements, so that other travelers with disabilities are not subjected to this same experience. I look forward to your prompt response regarding this matter and my refund request. Sincerely, Leslie McClammy
Excellent day. Sally was a very informative guide and kept our day well organized. The sites were gorgeous and well worth visiting.
Have been on a fantastic trip to Seorak and Naksansa Temple the trip is highly recommended it is well organized. You get all the information from Sally (the guide) the day before and a group chat so everyone is up to date on everything about what to see and meeting times. Sally is thoughtful and upfront the whole time so we were very comfortable with the whole trip. Such a beautiful place and not the last time. 5 stars ✨
I had an amazing experience on the Mount Seorak and Naksansa Temple tour, and I cannot recommend our guide, Han Byungok, enough. During the trip, I accidentally misplaced my wallet at the Hongcheon Rest Stop. I was extremely worried as it contained my cash and important cards. Han Byungok went above and beyond to help me—he contacted the rest stop, helped arrange for the wallet to be retrieved, and even sent it back to me. His kindness and willingness to help a traveller in a stressful situation truly meant a lot to me. Beyond that, he was an excellent tour guide throughout the day. He was warm, friendly, and very knowledgeable, sharing interesting stories and background about Mount Seorak and Naksansa Temple. He also made sure everyone in the group felt comfortable and included. Thanks to him, the tour was not only beautiful and memorable but also felt very safe and well taken care of. I’m incredibly grateful for his help and would highly recommend him to anyone taking this tour.
Han is an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. He was thoughtful and informative.
Beautiful temples our guide was friendly and informative First we went to mountain definitely take cable car for great views we saw a lovely peaceful temple complex Then the temple by the sea Lots of steps!! Walking up some steep slopes Great day
My family had some challeges getting to the meeting place as I thought it was an outdoor parking lot but it was actually inside a Bus Transfer area (it was an area with these unique ceiling poles). When I texted (via WhatsApp) our tour guide for assistance, he sent me a pic of the waiting area with those unique ceiling poles which helped identify the location for me. Our tour guide (Jordan) spoke three languages and tried his best to make the trip informative and interesting. I give him kudos. Overall, we really enjoyed the tour. Some informative points for future people interested in this tour: - the bus ride is around three hours to and three hours back; there is one rest stop in-between; on the rest stop to, make sure to purchase the fresh walnut cookies with red bean and the boxed soft red bean cookies; they were so good! - bring an umbrella if rain is forecast - once you arrive at Mt. Seorak, try to purchase the lift tickets first; go up, enjoy and take in the view, take pictures, and then come down and go on the hiking trails as much as you can; get some lunch in-between (support the restaurants that are there) - before you leave the mountain, be sure to try hot korean sweet potatoes from the vendor. I wasn't a big fan of the Naksansa Temple but the views of the ocean were nice. Again, kudos to our Tour Guide for being so nice and accomodating! I highly recommend this tour; keep in mind this is an all-day event and you will be tired when the bus drops you off around 8pm.
Amazing views, but lots of walking. Great tour if you are into hiking and exploring remote locations. The views are worth it!
Great experience ! The tour was well organized annd the intermarry was great! Our tour guide - Jason was very friendly and funny !! He did ann anmazing job organizing the group and keeping us entertained! Although the tour is all day , we had plenty of time to rest on the bus ! There are also a few stops where you can use the bathroom . For the seoraksan national park , you get to choose a few routes, with the cable car being one of them. It is subject to weather conditions and It was windy when we went so operations were suspended . However, I have been to multiple cable cars that still operated under similar conditions . So as a feedback to the National park, I think they may need to upgrade to a more robust infrastructure for the cable car !!! There are other trails you can do and the whole park itself is beautiful !!! Overall a great experience and highly recommend you go outside of Seoul during your trip!!
It is beautiful place, beautiful scenery, relax and joyful. Sally is a wonderful tour guide, she is very caring, professional and fun . We will definitely book the tour again when my family visit Korea next time!.
Wonderful trip with Mr. Han. Very informative and and prompt. Very nice group and good bus driver. Excellent
The guide was very friendly and provided every bit of information regarding the trek. The weather was a bit drizzling when we took the trip but overall experience was still good. The trees were starting to change color at the mountain top. And the buddha temple with huge statue was a pleasant experience.
I really enjoyed this tour. I timed it well to get some nice autumn foliage photos. We stayed a good amount of time at each location. The park was beautiful. I was able to hike to the observatory and get some exercise in, as well as beautiful views. I appreciated our guide Chuck who was very helpful. He also provided us with different choices of activities at the park, so we didn't all have to do things as a big group.
The wilderness experience was great and the Autumn colours beautiful. The bus trip was 3 hours each way. Unfortunately the ventilation was poor. The bus windows quickly fogged up and the air was stuffy. I asked for the aircon to be switched on, but it was not really adequate and cold! Same problem on the return journey. Be aware.
This tour was fantastic. Many of the reviews stated that it was just a bus trip to these sites and back, but this didn’t seem to be true for our trip at all. Our tour involved so much more than just a bus ride! We had a wonderful tour guide (Stella/Mijeong) who walked us around and provided us in depth information at every place we went to at Naksansa and even when we got to Mt Seorak (before guests had free time to either hike or go up the cable car) Stella gave us in depth information about the area. She was warm and friendly, and the tour was well organised. Stella made the day a wonderful experience for us all
I greatly enjoyed my day trip to Mount Seorak and Naksansa Temple. The Meeting Point was easy to find and our tour guide Mr. Han already contacted us the day prior to give us detailed explanations on how to reach the pick up location. He also provided interesting facts about the places we visited and since there was a long traffic jam to the parking lot at Mount Seorak (peak season) he got off the bus with us early and guided us to the entrance on foot. The bus driver was also very friendly and due to the delay we had from earlier in the day he made sure to drive a little faster to make sure we don’t arrive back in Seoul too late. I highly recommend this day trip for everyone who wants to spend a day in nature, especially during fall foliage season.
The guide was good and friendly. The itinerary changed, but we were not notified. Naksan was removed
