We had a really fun time visiting each of the sights and learning the history of the Baekje Kingdom, which was further enriched by the histories of the two towns Gongju and Buyeo. Each of the sights is definitely worth seeing, especially the Gilt-Bronze Incense Burner, that was the highlight of the tour! The restaurant we stopped by at for lunch was very nice as well. Looking forward to getting another tour! Thank you!

My wife and I took this tour (Seoul>Gongju>Buyeo) and added a stop in Suwon and a 2 day excursion to Gyeongju (from Daejeon). The combination offers a highlight of the rich Korean history, its UNESCO sites and museums. Dos was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. He tailored his explanation to our needs and was open to ad hoc changes. We did the tour in a spacious and comfortable van piloted by Dos, who introduced us to the fantastic local food. Highly recommended!
This tour of Gongju and Buyeo was exceptional and perfectly organized. The transportation was seamless, and our guide was both passionate and professional, making Baekje Kingdom history truly come alive. Exploring Gongsanseong Fortress and the serene temple ruins felt like stepping back in time, away from the usual crowds. As a foreign traveler, I was especially grateful for the guide’s thoughtfulness regarding my dietary needs; they arranged a delicious, authentic lotus-leaf rice lunch that felt very respectful. If you want a meaningful, UNESCO-filled day trip with a personal touch, I highly recommend this tour!
I really enjoyed the Gongju and Buyeo Historical Tour (Baekje Kingdom) from Seoul. Everything was very well organized from the beginning, and meeting at Daejeon Station was easy and stress-free. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and explained Baekje history in a clear and engaging way, without it ever feeling like a lecture. One of the most powerful moments of the tour was learning about the region’s tragic history while standing before the cliffs where Korean women are said to have taken their own lives rather than fall into the hands of the enemy. Seeing these cliffs in person was deeply moving, and the heavy, sorrowful atmosphere can still be felt there, which made the historical narrative even more impactful. Walking along Gongsanseong Fortress and visiting the historical sites in Buyeo felt calm, authentic, and far removed from Seoul’s crowds. The museums and temple ruins added valuable historical context, and the schedule was well balanced, with enough free time at each stop to explore, reflect, and take photos. Lunch was another highlight. We tried local dishes, including lotus-leaf rice, which was simple yet very authentic and delicious. As a Muslim traveler, I had mentioned my dietary sensitivities in advance, and the guide was extremely attentive and respectful, carefully arranging suitable food options, which made the experience very comfortable. Transportation throughout the day was smooth, including the train journey to and from Seoul and the comfortable vehicle used during the tour. Overall, this tour is an excellent choice for travelers who want a deeper understanding of Korean history and culture, enjoy UNESCO heritage sites, and are looking for a peaceful and well-organized day trip outside Seoul without the stress of planning everything themselves.
I joined the Gongju and Buyeo Historical Tour with Dream Journey Korea, and it was an excellent experience. Unlike many tours that focus mainly on the Joseon era, this tour dives into ancient Korean history, specifically the Baekje Kingdom of the Three Kingdoms period. The itinerary included UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Gongsanseong Fortress, Gongju National Museum, the Baekje Royal Tombs, Buyeo National Museum (home to the Gilt-Bronze Incense Burner), and Jeongnimsaji Temple Site. The route was well organized and explained Baekje history in a clear, chronological way. The guide was highly professional, engaging, and attentive to all details, including dietary needs. I have traveled with this company before and, once again, everything was perfectly organized. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in Korean history beyond the Joseon era.
I recently joined the Gongju and Buyeo Historical Tour organized by Dream Journey Korea, and it was a truly enriching experience. Many historical tours in Korea tend to focus mainly on the Joseon era and modern history, often leaving earlier periods unexplored. This tour, however, is a wonderful exception. It offers a rare opportunity to dive into Korea’s ancient past by taking participants back to the Three Kingdoms period, allowing for a deeper understanding of the history and daily life of the Baekje Kingdom. The itinerary includes some of the most significant Baekje-era sites, all of which are listed as UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites. The tour began at Gongju Gongsanseong Fortress, where we enjoyed stunning natural scenery alongside historical exploration. This was followed by a visit to the Gongju National Museum, where we viewed artifacts excavated from Baekje royal tombs, and then to the Royal Tombs themselves, which brought the history vividly to life. Next, we visited the Buyeo National Museum, home to the famous Gilt-Bronze Incense Burner, considered one of Korea’s national treasures. The tour also included Buyeo Jeongnimsaji Temple Site, featuring a stone pagoda and an ancient stone Buddha statue that have survived from Baekje times. The itinerary was thoughtfully designed to present the history of the Baekje Kingdom in a clear, chronological, and easy-to-understand way, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I strongly recommend this tour to anyone interested in early Korean history who wants to explore beyond the Joseon era. As a helpful tip for travelers: if you are participating in the Visit Korean Heritage Campaign and collecting stamps in your visitor passport, be sure to bring it along. This tour allows you to collect four additional heritage stamps in one trip. Lastly, I would like to highlight the professionalism of the guide. He took excellent care of every detail, explained Korean history in an engaging and accessible manner, and thoughtfully considered all participants’ dietary needs. I have traveled with Dream Journey Korea before, and once again, the organization was flawless. I joined this tour with complete confidence, knowing everything would be well planned and smoothly conducted, and my expectations were fully met.
This is a great history tour. If you want to learn about early history of Korea, especially the 3 Kingdom period, then this tour is perfect! I loved the place we went for lunch! We got to try the local dish of lotus wrapped rice. Very delicious! The guide arrange our travel to and from Seoul via train with ease and the vehicle we used from Daejeon was comfortable. Would be great for anyone wanting to get out and explore other areas of Korea.
This tour was a very pleasant and memorable experience. Spending the day visiting ancient sites, museums, and royal tombs created a strong sense of connection to Korea’s early history. The atmosphere was calm and reflective, which made the trip especially enjoyable. The schedule felt well paced, with enough time to look around and take everything in without feeling rushed. Overall, it was a meaningful and relaxing way to step away from the city and enjoy something both cultural and enriching.
A really relaxing trip overall. Traveling by train felt like part of the journey and I even managed to take a nap along the way. The guide was kind and thoughtful which added to the calm vibe. Easy, enjoyable and pleasantly unhurried.
It was my second tour with Dream Journey Korea. The guide was super knowledgeable and passionate about the history. This time Buyeo National Museum and the Jeongnimsaji Temple were definite highlights. I would recommend this tour to anyone who are curious about Korea’s ancient past and who want an easy unrushed schedule.
I really enjoyed the Gongju and Buyeo Historical Tour from Seoul. Everything was well organized, and meeting at Seoul Station was easy. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, explaining Baekje history in a clear and engaging way. Walking through Gongsanseong Fortress and the sites in Buyeo felt peaceful and authentic, far from Seoul’s crowds. The museums and temple ruins added helpful context, and the schedule was relaxed with enough time to explore and take photos. Lunch with lotus-leaf rice was simple but delicious and very authentic. Pros: Well-organized tour, great guide, beautiful and calm UNESCO sites, comfortable pace. best for: Travelers interested in Korean history and culture who want a relaxed day trip outside Seoul
I traveled with Dream Journey Korea for multiple day tours, including the Gongju & Buyeo Baekje Kingdom Historical Tour and the Jeonju Hanok Village Tour, and what stood out most was the company’s consistency across different experiences. Rather than offering rushed, checklist-style trips, Dream Journey Korea focuses on structured storytelling and thoughtful pacing. Each tour felt carefully planned, with clear schedules, comfortable transportation, and entrance fees already included, allowing travelers to focus fully on the experience instead of logistics. On the Gongju and Buyeo tour, the historical depth was impressive. Visiting UNESCO World Heritage sites like Gongsanseong Fortress, Baekje Royal Tombs, Jeongnimsaji Temple Site, and both Gongju and Buyeo National Museums felt purposeful rather than overwhelming. The explanations provided helped connect locations into a coherent narrative of the Baekje Kingdom, especially through highlights like the Great Gilt-Bronze Incense Burner of Baekje, which was explained in a way that made its cultural and artistic importance clear even to non-experts. The Jeonju Hanok Village tour, while very different in theme, showed the same level of organization and care. The experience was relaxed and immersive, giving enough time to explore traditional hanok architecture, local food culture, and historical streets without feeling rushed or overly commercialized. It balanced guided structure with personal free time well. Across both tours, transportation was clean and air-conditioned, timing was managed efficiently, and the overall atmosphere felt professional but friendly. A particularly positive detail was the flexibility shown when time allowed, such as adding extra sites or extending visits, something that reflects experience rather than rigid scheduling. Overall, Dream Journey Korea is a reliable choice for travelers who want meaningful cultural tours from Seoul without the stress of self-planning. Their tours suit people who value historical context, smooth logistics, and a calm, well-paced travel style over fast tourism. Recommended for solo travelers, international visitors, and anyone interested in Korea’s heritage beyond the surface level.
I joined the Gongju and Buyeo Historical Tour (Baekje Kingdom) from Seoul on Saturday, and overall, it was a well-organized, educational, and genuinely enjoyable experience, especially for anyone interested in Korean history, UNESCO World Heritage sites, or slow cultural travel. From the start, the logistics were smooth. The tour included transportation in a clean, air-conditioned vehicle, entrance and admission fees, and insurance coverage, which immediately removed any stress about planning or hidden costs. It felt professionally managed and considerate of traveler comfort. Gongju: Where the Baekje Story Begins: Our first stop was Gongsanseong Fortress in Gongju, and honestly, this set the tone perfectly. Walking along the fortress walls, surrounded by nature and history, you can feel why this site mattered strategically and politically during the Baekje period. The views are calm, and the site isn’t overwhelming, just enough space to absorb the atmosphere without feeling rushed. Next, we visited the Gongju National Museum, which added much-needed context. Instead of just “seeing ruins,” the museum helped connect the dots of how Baekje culture evolved, how refined their craftsmanship was, and how deeply influenced they were by both Korean and broader East Asian traditions. The displays were well curated and easy to follow, even if you’re not a history expert. After that, we stopped for lunch, which gave everyone a break to relax, recharge, and process what we had already seen. The pacing so far felt balanced, not rushed, not dragging. Buyeo: The Heart of Baekje Civilization: Post-lunch, we headed to Buyeo, starting with the Baekje Royal Tombs. This was one of the more reflective parts of the tour. Standing there, you’re reminded that this wasn’t just an ancient kingdom, it was a living society with rulers, rituals, beliefs, and a strong artistic identity. The Buyeo National Museum was a highlight. This is where we saw one of Baekje’s most iconic treasures: the Great Gilt-Bronze Incense Burner of Baekje. Learning about this artifact was genuinely fascinating. The level of detail, symbolism, and craftsmanship is stunning. It reflects Baekje’s advanced metalworking skills, spiritual worldview, and artistic sophistication. This wasn’t just a pretty object; it was a storytelling piece, and the explanation really brought it to life. We then visited Jeongnimsaji Temple Site, another UNESCO World Heritage location. The five-story stone pagoda stands quietly but powerfully, representing Baekje’s architectural elegance and the spread of Buddhism. It’s minimal, calm, and emotionally grounding and a good contrast to the museum interiors. A Surprise Bonus (That Made the Tour Better): Just when we thought the tour was wrapping up, we were told we had extra time and as a surprise, the guide took us to Busosanseong Fortress, completely free of charge. This felt like a thoughtful bonus rather than a rushed add-on. Busosanseong Fortress, surrounded by forested paths and history, was the perfect closing note. It didn’t feel commercial or forced, just peaceful, scenic, and meaningful. Ending the tour there gave everything a sense of completion. Final Thoughts What stood out most about this tour was how complete and intentional it felt. Every stop had a purpose. Every site added another layer to the Baekje story. All locations being UNESCO World Heritage sites isn’t just a label, it genuinely shows in their preservation, cultural value, and historical depth. This tour is ideal if: You enjoy history but don’t want to plan logistics yourself You appreciate museums and outdoor heritage sites You want a calm, educational day trip from Seoul You value good pacing over rushing through attractions It’s not a “fun selfie tour” or a shopping trip, and that’s exactly why it works. You walk away feeling informed, grounded, and connected to an important part of Korean history. Overall rating: Highly recommended for culture and history lovers.
I really enjoyed this tour — it was my first time traveling outside of Seoul in a long while. Since I’m interested in Korean history, this tour was a perfect choice for me. The guide explained everything in a very clear and detailed way, especially the history of the ancient Baekje Kingdom and the Buyeo area. We saw real historical treasures, including the famous Gilt-bronze Incense Burner, which is over 1,000 years old and incredibly well preserved. It was amazing to see such an important artifact in person. For a one-day tour, we visited a lot of places and learned so much about the history of the Three Kingdoms period. By the end of the day I felt pleasantly tired, and it was a great chance to take a break from the busy city life in Seoul. I highly recommend this tour, and next time I would love to join another tour with the same guide. Even though English is not my native language, I understood almost everything because the guide speaks English extremely well — almost like a native speaker — which was a big advantage. The guide also drove us in his car, so traveling between locations was very comfortable. We had enough time at each place and never felt rushed, which I really appreciated. Overall, I strongly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn more about Korean history and see historical artifacts up close. Thank you very much for organizing such a wonderful trip!
The itinerary was very well balanced with enough time at each stop to explore without rush. The guide's deep knowledge of Korean history made this trip special. He shared fascinating stories you won’t find in guidebooks and explained everything clearly in fluent English. His restaurant recommendation was also excellent and added a nice local touch to the experience. One of the biggest highlights for me was seeing the famous Gilt-Bronze Incense Burner at the Buyeo National Museum - an absolute masterpiece. Highly recommend this tour to anyone passionate about Korean history.
