Interesting tour. Learnt a lot about Korean history and the war which I enjoyed. However be prepared that there is a big hike to the suspension bridge that you are not told about in advance. Also the third tunnel might be claustrophobic if you are not comfortable with small spaces. Stopped at a store in DMZ but didn't see the point of it. It felt like the tour guide was doing the selling for them and an unnecessary stop to promote snail face creams. Winnie the guide was very energetic and knowledgeable but standing over everyone to give her a five star review was very unprofessional. Shame we could only go to the Observatory for a short about of time when the tour took about eight hours. Something I have ticked off my list but I won't do it again.

Itinerary
The DMZ is a unique area where you can observe one country being divided into two. With this tour, you will visit the 3rd Tunnel, DMZ Exhibition hall, Dora observatory and Unification village. Experience the tension but hope for peace in Korea and learn about their history and future. [DMZ Theater & Exhibition Hall] The DMZ Theater and Exhibition Hall offers videos and key artifacts that help visitors understand the painful history of Korea’s division. With displays of photographs, documents, and remnants from the past, visitors can gain a deeper and clearer insight into the historical events that led to the division of the Korean Peninsula.
Imjingak Park, originally established as a place of solace for refugees from North Korea during the Korean War, features several symbolic monuments such as the Freedom Bridge, the Soldiers’ Memorial, and the Peace Bell. Adjacent to it, Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Park offers visitors a chance to reflect on Korea’s history, the ongoing tensions, and hopes for peace. With monuments like the Mangbaedan, a war-damaged steam locomotive, and open spaces dedicated to remembrance and harmony, the area holds strong potential to be designated as an international peace park.
[North Korea Experience Hall] The North Korea Experience Hall is a newly popular attraction in the DMZ tour, offering a deeper and more educational way to satisfy curiosity about North Korea. Beyond a simple exhibition of the division, it provides an immersive experience that presents North Korea, a mysterious space, in a fact-based educational manner. The hall features fact-driven content, including real testimonies from defectors and audiovisual documentaries, to help visitors gain a serious understanding of North Korea. This attraction creates a strong synergy with the DMZ tour by offering Q&A sessions with defectors, allowing visitors to experience content that naturally leads to a deeper understanding of North Korean society.
Dora Observatory is one of the few places where you can directly witness the reality of Korea’s division. On clear days, the flagpole in Kijŏng-dong, the southernmost village in North Korea, can be seen from Dora Observatory with the naked eye, and even more clearly through a telescope. Dora Observatory has indoor and outdoor areas. Depending on the weather or security situation, the outdoor area may be closed, allowing observation of North Korea only from indoors.
The Third Tunnel, discovered in 1978, is a secret infiltration tunnel built by North Korea in the 1970s as part of its military strategy to invade the South. Located just 52 kilometers from Seoul, the tunnel measures 1,635 meters in length, approximately 1.95 meters in height, and 2.1 meters in width—large enough to allow the passage of armed troops. Dora Park features sculptures that convey historical significance and a message of peace to visitors.
(Optional) Gamaksan Suspenstion Bridge Opened in 2016, this bridge — the longest mountain suspension bridge in South Korea — offers a thrilling experience, as if walking above the clouds. The bridge is named The Gloucester Heroes Bridge in honour of the heroic achievement of the soldiers of the Gloucestershire Regiment who fought against the Chinese Communist Army during the Korean War in order to defend Seolmari to the last and block the Chinese advance on Seoul for three days.

Good join with Jackie storyteller group, we are very enjoy it 😍❤️👍🙏
This was an extremely well organised day trip from the initial booking details shared on Whatsapp, prompt pick up & drop off, and perfect guides for the day in Evan & Camilla. Everything ran smoothly (although we did initially fail the passport check with armed guards!). The 3rd tunnel visit was something different, just be mindful it might not be a great experience for those you get claustrophobic. The pace is good and our group size was small (6 in total) which was one of the main attractions to this tour for us.
Had enjoyed a great tour to DMZ today led by tour guide Winnie. Her pleasant disposition, energetic charisma and knowledge about DMZ led the group well in appreciatiing historical significance in this part of Korea. We had great time as a family and as a tour group. No regret for signing for this tour which Winnie led.
The tour and the tour guide were incredible. This experience surpassed my expectations. I would highly recommend. Prepare to do a lot of walking.
I had an absolutely wonderful experience on the DMZ with North Korea Experience Hall and Suspension Bridge tour, and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing tour guide, EVAN. EVAN was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate. He provided detailed historical context, interesting facts, and thoughtful explanations that made every stop along the tour meaningful and easy to understand. His storytelling brought the history to life, making the experience far more impactful than I had imagined. The visit to the DMZ was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and the Suspension Bridge offered breathtaking views that made the trip even more memorable. Throughout the day, EVAN ensured everyone was comfortable, organized, and had plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Thank you, EVAN, for an amazing experience!
It is an intensive tour that is very timely today. Early departure ensures smaller crowds at the tour sites. Interview with North Korean defector was most interesting. This tour is highly recommended.
This is a very comprehensive , interesting and educational tour for a full day . Young was wonderful tour guide .
Very well-organized and informative tour. BK was an excellent tour guide! He gave us a lot of background info on the history of North and South Korea before we arrived at the DMZ so we were prepared. And, for the areas of the tour that photos were not allowed, he sent us photos taken in the past when they were allowed. Everything ran efficiently (although it was a very early start, we all were on-time and got back around 3:30). A highlight of the tour was hearing from a North Korean woman who defected to South Korea--her story and information on what North Korea is like.
Our tour guide, Sookhee was very knowledgeable about the history of Korea. We are very happy that we did the tunnel, it was a great experience. It was steep going down & a bit of a hike back up but we all made it. Love the suspension bridge, beautiful view of the mountains..
Allow me to rey-lay some of the details of our trip. Our guide was easy to ray-late to, he was hilarious and spoken perfect English. visibility wasn’t very good because of the weather. Our guide was a joy you could say he had a ray-diant smile, or even that he was a ray of sunshine. In case you couldn’t tell the guy was Ray. 10/10 trip!
BK was an exceptional tour guide for our family half day tour of temples and visit to the South Korean Palace. Mr Kim was our efficient and professional driver. BK’s spoken English is extraordinarily good. We enjoyed his friendly and engaging conversation. BK’s knowledge of history was fantastic. Highest recommendation when looking for tour guides in Seoul. Please consider for your next tour.
Mr Kim and BK were the best guides we’ve had. I have visited previously and this tour was perfect. BK was very knowledgeable and set a busy but perfect pace to see a lot in a short time. Perfect tour for the start of your SK travels.
Felicity was the best tour guide. She was very thorough and explained the history and signifance of each stop. We did the Suspension bride and the DMZ tour. I would highly recommend her.
Chloe (SeoulCityTour) did a great job introducing the entire trip, providing a cheerful personality on the entire journey. it was an overall good experience and was well paced. do prepare your own snacks/food on the way but there are rest stops along the way as well.
Unfortunately we did not get access to the DMZ zone due to the volume of tourist buses on the day of our trip (100+). We were not offered a refund or an alternative date and instead the guide did her best to make up the time by doing other attractions which were inferior in my opinion. Overall very disappointing.
Sookhee was a fantastic guide. Very informative with excellent English. Gave us a great itinerary and kept us on schedule, but with plenty of time to enjoy every aspect of the day's tour. The whole family learned a lot throughout the day about the history of the DMZ, border and Korean War. The suspension bridge was a wonderful hike. And the Gondola over the DMZ on the North Korean side was really a surreal experience. Communication with Viatour and the pickup spot was fast and clear instructions and ontime.
I recently took a DMZ tour and wanted to share my fantastic experience. The entire tour was exceptionally well-organized from start to finish. Even though our tour fell on the major holiday of Chuseok, the company had a seamless backup itinerary ready, ensuring a fascinating and complete day despite any potential holiday-related closures or changes. A huge highlight was our guide, BK. BK was truly outstanding—incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely enthusiastic about sharing the complex and moving history between North and South Korea. Their passion made the historical context come alive and provided deep insights that went beyond the textbook facts. A quick heads-up for future travelers: The weather during my visit was quite warm, reaching about 28 degrees celcius and sunny. Be prepared for some physical activity, as the tour does involve short-duration walks (around 10 minutes each) up moderate hills. Wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the heat, as it can be taxing. Despite the heat and the short climbs, the tour was an incredibly worthwhile and moving experience. If you are looking for a professional, well-managed, and deeply informative DMZ tour, I highly recommend this one!
Mrs Sookie was really sweet, and tried to accommodate since some of us weren't feeling very well tried to explain to the best in an easy comprehensive way.
The experience was perfect, and Sookhee, our guide, was exceptional and very kind, She was able to answer all of our questions.
It was a really nice experience and our guide Sookhee was really competent, sharing all his historical knowledge led us to really embrace the experience Super!
All good and smooth, the organization was perfect. We have been also very lucky with the weather Thanks sookee for the day at dzm
well organized and learned lots of information from our super tour guide Suki 😊 Recommend the experience as it is very uniaue
Absolutely brilliant tour of the DMZ and surrounding area. We went on a stormy Tuesday morning, but the sun came out as the day progressed and the positive attitude from Junie was amazing. The tour was with a small group and did the following: - DMZ including defector talk, third invasion tunnel, unification village and the observation tower. - We also did the memorial to Gloucester soldiers and the suspension bridge The tour is not too intensive for walking, about 20 minutes total throughout the day of uphill walking, the rest is easy and the tour guide helps you through all the steps. I highly recommend this tour, as I said before, Junie was exceptional at both information and history, but as well as making sure we got the best photos and memories from the trip We will be back to see the JSA once it opens again!!! Thank you again
History and tears for people and a country that separated due communists...mistakes of world in one area. Except this, nothing more...
Sookhee was very professional, cute and funny. everything perfect. I recommend it a lot. :) Out on comfortable clothes and shoes.
We had an amazing trip. It was a rainy and overcast day so we were worried that might impact some of the sights but we were super lucky that the weather turned in our favor each time. Junie was an amazing guide for our small group and her positivity despite the weather made this an amazing experience. It was a a lot of walking between all the stops, so make sure to have good walking shoes.
Sookhee was an amazing tour guide! She is very educational, answers all your questions, and the directions were easy to meet up at. Definitely worth it if you’re up for an adventure and want to learn some important history!
We booked last minute , we got picked up on time , very friendly guide , takes time to explain the history behind everything
It was amazing the tour guide was great it was a little hot but our guide was polite and very fun and really good overall!!!
Very knowledgeable tour guide, very personal with only 7 total visitors. Gets to know all of your names and makes an effort to know you. You take a minivan to the dmz which is more comfortable than the charter bus. Lots of walking!!!
Sookee was very prompt and kept our group very informed and on time. Set sweet lady. When she told her stories, we could feel her sincerity and caring feelings. Thank you Sookee, we enjoyed our day with you.
We booked the DMZ tour as first-time visitors to Seoul. Lua was our guide and she was clear and engaging throughout the tour. She took great care of us and was always happy to answer our questions! She was extremely knowledgable about the history of Korea. We went to multiple stops throughout the tour which were clearly signposted by Lua and she volunteered to take pictures of my partner and I at the amazing photo stops. There are a few breaks with opportunities for toilet trips and souvenir shopping! There’s also the chance to buy some lunch and enjoy a view of North Korea. Thank you! I’d highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting for the first or hundredth time. :)
We did the Monday tour with Soo-ke and it really was the best choice. The area was not crowded at all and we managed to see everything without being disturbed, guided by the expert guide Soo-ke! She told us a lot about Korean history between the stops and filled in a lot of gaps we were not aware of. Definitely recommend!
Well led by guide Ki who gave a lot of historical context. There was time to sit and have a coffee viewing the CCZ. Gained insight into the Hunan impact
Great tour! Junie was very knowledgeable about the history of the DMZ and was a very prepared and organized guide. I would recommend this to everyone.
Our tour guideSookhee was very knowledgeable, and was able to answer our questions. This tour was great, we had alot of fun and learned alot.
Very interesting tour. Our guide Sook Hee handled good some unexpected problems. She explained very well the history of the Corea war. I recommend this tour

the views were good, our tour guide ms sookhee was very knowledgeable and friendly, going out of her way to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves
Sookee was an excellent tour guide. The tour covers so much and because we were in a small group we learnt a lot. Best guide.
Junie was an amazing tour guide and we had a fabulous time going round the DMZ zone. She takes lots of photos and remains helpful, informative and cheerful creating a happy and comfortable atmosphere. Brilliant tour, lots about the history and conflict between Korea and North Korea. Also you are able to interact and interview a North Korean Defector - so gain more insight and depth into the North Korean lifestyle.
Junie was a great tour guide. She really made this DMZ tour special. We learned so much about the Zone and tge history between tge North and South Koreas Thank you Junie. Izzy
Mr. Cool was a knowledgeable and caring guide. He shared insightful DMZ history, provided helpful visuals, and even assisted me personally. Truly excellent service. Highly recommended. – Hazel Koh, Singapore.
Average tour. Basic guide support as our guide struggled with English. As you see and hear lots of tours around you this is a luck of the draw. Lots of buses and Lots of crowds. The suspension bridge was a stunning area and enjoyable. The tunnel area was very crowded and not enough lockers to store belongings so people did not go down. Old Peace Bridge area view was interesting as it was close up. But the actual DMZ was a disappointment, really- can't see much. Wouldn't recommend.
Lina Kim...our tour guide is very nice..helpful and informative...we learned a lot from her...and took good care of us....
Tour guide Sookhee was great and very knowledgeable, I loved the sights and the history of the tour. This tour was so much fun! I was able to gain a lot more of an understanding of the history between North and South Korea, I feel grateful for the knowledge of our tour guide 감사합니다
Mrs. Sookhee was a great tour guide. She had Soo much information about the DMX and the Korean war to share. She made sure that we had enough time at each location and never rushed us. There was a lot of hiking and we had an 8 and 11 yr old and she made sure we went at a good pace. I highly recommend this tour.
Very sweet tour guide (Sookee), knowledgeable and well organized, good driver, amazing sightseeing along the DMZ. Gamsahamnida!!!
Sookhee was a gracious and unbelievable host and made the whole experience one we’d never forgot! Truly unforgettable experience.
